VINTAGE THRIFT FINDS | THRIFT HAULS | ANTIQUE HAULS - Навчання та стиль
Hello, I totally agree with you in regards to switching over to antique stores. Ever since Goodwill started their online store there is not to much to be desired and their prices have gone up as well!! Thank you for all your inspiration. Take Care
I’ve been preferring antique stores over thrift stores too, lately. I don’t save money but the quality of items and shopping experience is so much more enjoyable.
That bird fabric is to die for. I’d definitely make some thanksgiving pillows.
Very beautiful!
I agree is so beautiful
For me going to an Antique store is like going to therapy I come out so relaxed
I would have never have thought to revamp the lamp shades! That was a great idea, and I love them the way they look now!
Love the fabrics I sew and quilt so glad I learned have several machines..pull that machine out and start sewing..you will be so glad you did..I make pillows and valances for about all my windows..it really makes your home more homey.. ❤
Take the big medallion and put it on a picture frame. Add IOD moulds to the medallion and the frame.
I would paint the coat rack white 😍
Oh I love the pheasant fabric!
I didn’t realize until now that gorilla glue did a spray glue, sounds like it’s wonderful for so many things. Thanks for that tip, and I love those fabrics that you found they are gorgeous colors! 💐
The blue toile would make a very pretty table topper!
I like antique stores much better than thrift stores, personally!! Thanks for sharing
I would make pillows with the beautiful quail fabric. That was an incredible find for $4. I would pull that lovely dark green and gind some velvet fringe or pom poms in the same dark green to trim the pillows.
Sewing is my VERY FAVORITE thing to do! I encourage you to begin, you won't regret it! I teach moms and daughters this wonderful lost art. I always begin with a simple pillow case, then a hot pad, a pillow cover, and a valance. Those 4 are very simple projects and should give you confidence on using your machine. Dont forget to watch several simple UA-cam tutorials on each beforhand. Enjoy the journey - I bet you'll fall in love! 🥰
Stain darker... love the fabrics
Love those fabrics you found and what a deal! Elizabeth, don't be afraid to sew. Get that machine out and just start sewing. I think you will be surprised how naturally it will be for you. I can tell you are a natural. It is fun to sew and practice makes perfect! You will be sewing beautiful pillows, curtains, etc in no time.
Love your lampshades. They turned out beautiful!
I am not good at sewing, but I think the quail fabric would make a beautiful apron to wear in the fall.
That bird material would make great wallpaper.
Oh yes!
With the fabric, it will be nice to frame a piece. Make a throw pillow and decoupage a lamp with some of the birds and some IOD Moulds and Stamps.
I think your best find was the blue fabric with the rooster on it. It's beautiful, and for only one dollar, it was an amazing bargain. I would make a table cloth with it so that you can use the majority of it. It might look cute with little blue or white ball trim on it. Lucky you!
Yes, I agree! I love your ideas 💙🤍💙
I would make a window panel with the bird fabric
Love the lampshades great job on them...that fabric would be cute as valance in a kitchen or bathroom...
You could make a table runner with the grouse on it.
The vintage fabric assortments are beautiful ! To all, have a sublime week. 🌹
I’m glad you think so too Cherie! Have a great evening!
❤❤❤❤❤
Table center piece for the larger piece of fabric with birds.
Sewing for the home is often the easiest and most satisfying. I make all my pillow cases, cushion covers, bedspreads and curtains. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. The hardest thing is getting it out and then packing it all away again. Love the lamp shades - good job.🦘🇦🇺
You found some great fabric - love it all! I’m inspired by your blue and green combinations in your home. I recently changed my living room colors to a more neutral palate and I have green chairs. I have kind of put my blue decor away in there but you’ve kind of inspired me to take a look at adding in some blue accessories. I appreciate the lamp shade tutorial - they turned out really cute. I have a padded, flared lampshade that I need to paint or restyle in fabric but I can’t quite get the courage to do it! Thanks for all the inspiration! Oh, I think the hat stand would be cute painted.
Love the fabrics, and love the remake of the lamp shades.
Love the coat tree. I would strip it and stain it the color you prefer. Then I would wax it, not varnish. Wax gives you a more vintage look. Love your home. It's so Beautiful. ❤
What a wonderful treat to see your hall, and you look so beautiful Elizabeth! I absolutely love the lamp, shades, and once again you have inspired me! I sure did love seeing those beautiful fabrics, go on ahead, honey, and get that sewing machine out! Sending you very much love🤍💚🤍
The vintage fabric on the lamps pretty. All the fabric was pretty especially the ones for fall. You can think of so many ways to enhance items whatever it may possibly be you see. A super gift you are blessed with. ❤ Love your home.😊😊
Love the demon shades👍🥰
I like your idea of napkins with the fabrics. Great finds.
Lola Lola is a vegetable brush company from Germany. They still make the brushes.
Elizabeth, loved this video! Those sweet little shades were so cute!!! Love how they look against the light wallpaper!! Yes, get out your sewing machine, girl! I go through sewing phases and feel so accomplished afterwards! Not sure what I would do with the coat tree..it’s really pretty. Staining would probably be the best. Cindi (from WV)😊
I have a large tablecloth in the bird print fabric. It's vintage french linen. I'm making pillows with it for my sofas.
I loved how your lampshades came out, I posted this video in my Farmhouse Decor Group on FB my followers love projects like this.
Oh thank you! I always appreciate a share 😃
Love the fabrics! So many options for revamp the lamps or slipcovers. I'm been into sewing for my slipcovers and reupholstered chairs, that I just stopped buying from stores and Amazon.
Elizabeth, your lampshades are darling …
I would use that bird fabric as table runner, just need to hem the four sides
Love the fabrics. I too have been looking for a coat tree. I would stain it a darker stain, not paint.
The pheasant fabric I’d frame or make a table runner, or pillows.
Thank you so much for the fabric lamp shade inspiration! I'm going to do this! The channel Tasha At Home has a video where she just redid her coat rack that was so similar to yours. She used oven cleaner to very easily strip the orange tone and she ended up with a beautiful natural wood color after it sat in the sun. You may find some inspiration from her there!
Hey Elizabeth. Love your beautiful finds! Love the shape of the coat rack. I would do a dark gel stain over it personally. But I’m sure whatever you decide to do it’ll be amazing. God bless 💜
Pillows would be great for the fabric. I have some vintage pillows that I made from similar fabric. I stuffed the pheasants so they stand out more like they did in the sixties. Everyone comments on them.
Hello Elizabeth 😊I would definitely stain it darker. I love the lamp shades so much a definitely going to make some. ❤
Thank you for the lamp shade lesson. I have been putting off 2 shades and I need to try it. Your home is so warm and welcoming.. My home has blue twill . my dinning room has the chairs covered in it. I have a very small piece left. that is what I will use for the lamp shade. Thanks! Joyce
Definitely give it a darker stain, painting it will change the vintage appearance. With the fabrics, I would also place them in a picture frames for sure.
I would make a runner out the fabric
coat rack - Old English Scratch Remover should darken it a little. Also good for baskets that are to blond.
The musical thread again was just perfect. Thank You for sharing the covering of the little lamp shades with us. I do like the way you hand tassels around. I like hanging things from lamp shades. I'm amazed each time you end the video with a beautiful picture of Jesus and scripture. It's just fine if you didn't this time. You're so creative always. Continued Blessings!
Such beautiful and well done projects. Great ideas! 😍
Thank you!!
Elizabeth, I love what you did with the lamp shades. They just pop against your wall. Your home is so beautiful! I truly enjoy your videos. You have such a gift of decorating. Keep inspiring us!
So glad you said that…. your preference for Antique stores! Same here, that’s what really makes me interested in your channel!! Thank you! ❤
The lampshades turned out lovely. For your first sewing project, I recommend you make an envelope style pillow cover. Easy beginner project.
I so love Antique Stores. I always find something.
Those fabrics are beautiful. Love the lamp shades and the drip candles.
Thanks for the video.
I have that Candy Treats crock too!
Love the spring colors being add to your home, makes it look so clean and joyful.
Beautiful fabrics ❤
The Quail fabric would make a beautiful lumbar sofa middle pillow❤️
The bird fabric would be pretty just over the back of a chair maybe hem it or edge with lace or crochet around it. I love it so much
Prarie chickens or Grouses
My fav birds on that print. I personally would make pillow cover or frame it. Beautiful fabric find.
Really pretty pictures, vignettes and styling in the book! Lol, yeah i don't think I'd use it either.. especially with the 'interesting things' going on..That was a cute way of putting it😄 I 100% agree with the difference in prices at the thrift stores & antique stores when it comes to anything antique or old. We own A thrift store but we keep our prices at the point a 'thrift' store should. We do have don't very collectable antique in the store, buy like i told my husband.. there's so many smoke stores in our area we have to stay competitive with pricing, keep them on the lower end. We do compare the pieces to ebay and etsy just to find their worth and help us with pricing, but even with that we don't price the pieces like this places do, we want to sell them and have a happy customer at the same time! Most times we take offers and just work with the customer, and we can do that because we're not a chain store.. its ours so yeah. Even stores that aren't chain try to out price antique stores sometimes, we just don't, its not necessary and we want happy customers that will continue to come shop! Personally, i shop antique stores more often because they have the things i want/like to buy. We don't shoe for our store. Its all disgusting, from house clean outs & estate sale send what they don't sell. I can't find the tassels or hanging candles anywhere🫤 I love making pillows from place mats, but i use glue, lol i can't sew😄 I can see a piece of the pheasant material in a pretty chunky wooden oval frame, that would be so pretty! The shades are so pretty, you did a great job!! Yes.. you need to go ahead and get your machine out! I think you can do it, just star our with simple things..you have such a creative mind and you implement it so well in your styling! If you make A mistake then keep trying i know you'll do great! Ask the fabrics are so pretty❤ My daughter has a coat tree that color, its beautiful but you're has A gorgeous twisted post! I definitely wouldn't paint it! You could add A little antique wax and darken it a little, make it look a little older. I did enjoy & thanks for sharing. I know i wrote alot, but just wanted to share how we do things at our thrift store!😊
Excited for future videos!!😊
The fall placemats would be a an easy diy pillow. The quail’s in an oval frame would be lovely . I loved your fabrics and the lampshades.
Yes, the prices in the thrift stores are astronomical! It takes the funout of thrifting.😢
Good job love the green from canada
Try using fabric modge podge as well on shades. Looks good your glue too
Hi Elizabeth! I'm a new subscriber! I really enjoyed this video and watching you cover your lampshades. You have inspired me to try it too!
Your bird material is absolutely beautiful. Your lamp shades turned out so good. I would like to see your coat stand stained darker. Great video❤
❤ I love your hall it's beautiful. The material is stunning and I know it's daunting but bringing out your sewing machine might inspire you to perhaps use that bright blue you showed last into a beautiful table runner for your dining room Barry spring and summer like to me. You did a beautiful job on the lamp shades what a great idea thank you Elizabeth so happy to have you back posting really have missed your sweet ideas. And your choice of butterflies at the end was stunning thanks again
I sew projects for my home but I really don’t enjoy sewing. 😂😂 You did an amazing job on the lampshades. The blue material would make a nice little tablecloth. The coat stand would look nice painted. I am sure whatever you decide it will look beautiful. ❤️
Love your channel!!!!!!!!
The bird fabric is stunning.
Maybe a table runner with that beautiful fabric ❤
I Agree ... The Attention To Detail Makes All The Difference. Thank You. =-)
Pillows for the partridge fabric
The fabrics are so beautiful, they would look fantastic as cushions and table toppers.
The lamps look really beautiful, well done.

I agree…. Unfortunately thrift stores are slim Pickens and overpriced. They are onto the reseller trend and I suppose they feel entitled to charge as much as they potentially do from the get go. Oh well, I use to paint and repurpose old furniture in an antique booth and as a decorative painter. I use to find most of my pieces in thrift store 20 years ago. There’s virtually nothing in them now. There’s so many You Tube people filming in the stores so there’s no hiding what’s going on. Hoping for the good old days to return. I ,too find nicer, cheaper and more curated things in antique malls I see a lovely table runner for that pheasant fabric. I may sell some of my remnants at a garage sale rolled up in a ribbon. Thanx for the idea! I think we’re kindred spirits. I love those connected candles too and definitely have a tassel fetish. Got ‘em hanging from everything!😂❤
Great fabric finds! Sewing home decor is the easiest of all in my opinion. Use an old sheet or ugly fabric to practice on. You can sew!
Wow , love these all vintage fabrics 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌸🌷🌹🌸🌷🌹🌸🌷❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Hey Elizabeth - I re-stained some honey oak cabinets - so I think you could do he same with your hall tree - no sanding, I just cleaned them well with TCP - then took Minwax stain & urethane combo in the color Mission Oak - dark brown - just wiped on & off, like a regular stain - I did two coats to get the color I wanted - because the urethane was already in it, nothing further was required - came out perfect - I used Satin finish, not gloss - good luck with whatever you decide to do !
Elizabeth, I really enjoyed viewing this particular video. All the fabrics are beautiful, and I love what you did with those lamps shades❤️
You should take the plunge and begin sewing.
When my Mom passed away I got her sewing machine. I never sewed before except maybe a button onto a shirt. Suddenly I began using her machine and I truly enjoyed it! I simply viewed a couple videos on “how to” and voilà I got it. It will really step up your game. You’ll be sewing everything 😊. I’ve made curtains pillows blankets and reupholstered many chairs and settees.
Many blessings to you and your family.
I love the blue/beige fabric the best. It's sooooo pretty! BTW, great job on the lamp shade.
Great idea to collect older material. I've sewed for many years, just be very careful of bringing old material into your house. wash it first if you can.
Moths can lay eggs. I've been collecting antiques all my life. Also look for the estate sales, thats where you find the treasures that are sometimes cheaper.
Love the fabric prints! Definitely sewing projects in your future. Can’t wait to see what you create with them.
Loved the lampshades you did a great job. You inspire me! As far as starting to sew, go take a quilting or sewing class ! It will give you confidence!
I did that and it was great! So glad I found your videos!❤
Elizabeth, why do’nt you paint the hall tree? I think the shades look adorable, thanks. 😊
Muy bonitos los estampados de las telas gracias por compartir
I love the lamp shades!
Love the fabrics. Your lamp shades turned out well. I would paint the coat rack a deep blue-navy
You have a very warm home. You are very talented ❤
Elizabeth, I LOVE your decor aesthetic! It is done in such good taste!!! Love all of your finds, I love garage sale season!! There’s a community sale this weekend in my area, can’t wait😊
Elizabeth, I love the lamp shades you covered. I really enjoyed watching you do this. I think I may give it a try. Enjoyed seeing what you have found.
first timer here... love the vid and the closing especially
I love your fabric finds! Thank you for your lampshade tutorial. I have been wondering how to cover one and you made it look so easy, can’t wait to do one myself. Your “new” shades look great in your entry foyer!! ❤
Such beautiful fabric Elizabeth! You did a great job on those shades, I would love to try that myself. I would stain the coat stand darker and it sure is pretty.
Thank you! You should try it, it’s so easy doing it this way! I have recovered several shades now and this is by far my favorite technique.
If you stain the coat tree will you have to sand it. That twist look is Beautiful!! Good find!! Also LOVE that gorgeous Blue & White Fabric. Get your courage and drag out your machine 🥰
Can not wait Elizabeth 😍 love your home x
No sew curtains and pillow covers, made with iron-on hem tape is so so simple!
Love the fabrics, and your lamp shades turned out beautifully. ❤
I’m thinking a table runner for the pheasant fabric. A little hem on the four sides and it still shows off the pattern to its full advantage. I love your lampshades. They look fabulous ❤️ I’d stain the coat rack the colour of your doors that you have it beside. I really like that colour. The blue fabric is gorgeous. Let’s make a deal, I’ll find my courage and get my sewing machine out if you do. Have a blessed week Elizabeth 🙏
