This documentary is so well done imo
And it’s really overwhelming at times.
But don’t misunderstand, her manager Geir is very nice and she loves him. But she is stubborn, which I love, and not easy to work with because only she knows how it should sound.
I love that she just took control, no one messes with Aurora lol
Geir kind of comes off as the bad guy here, but Aurora probably needed a critical voice. Not saying he was completely right, but I don't think she would have been served by a yes man, either.
Of course, later it becomes more obvious that she loves him, even though they often battle over the creative process.
She wasn't happy with everything on All My Demons... I posted the article quotes in Part 1 comments, and she is stubborn here to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Like she said in Part 1, she would rather quit than release songs, that she did not approve of again.
One of the best reactions to this documentary that I've seen so far.
I've never seen a documentary by a singer who has been as critical of the music industry as Aurora. And you also have to bow to their manager because he allowed it. He didn't necessarily make himself lovable as he was portrayed.
If you see her now, she's so comfortable with and adores her fans so much that she's the first to initiate a hug or embrace. She has become comfortable and realized how much love they have towards her and how many people are similar to her way of being.
Yes, it's pretty fascinating to see how much she's grown into the "artist" AURORA. You can tell she loves being an artist and performing now. And even getting together with fans. She knows many of them that travel to a lot of her shows. And she never looks like it's a job or she's just going through the motions, when talking to them or posing for pictures. She always seems to be the happiest person in the crowd. The positive energy just flows out of her.
Greed is at contrast with art, because greed wants only safe things that are more likely to sell. They don't care about innovation, because the art is only a means to make money, not to create something new, interesting and beautiful. The best part about this section of the documentary is that Aurora says she has taken MORE control of her music, as she's gained maturity and confidence. You can imagine today that she's pretty much 100% in charge. Not that outside influences and help aren't beneficial, but at the end of the day, it's her art.
Not sure how familiar you are with the Canadian band, Rush. Back in the day, they were about to be dropped by their label, because they weren't radio-friendly enough. They decided if they were going out, they were going out on their own terms. So, they wrote 2112, which the entire first side was the epic title track. It was in large part a big f-u to the record company. It turned out to be the album that launched a Hall of Fame career. And from then on, they were able to do exactly what they wanted with their music.
And the war on UA-cam reactors from the labels is one of the dumbest things I can think of. Damn, greed makes people so freaking stupid. They should be embracing reactions, but instead, they're so afraid that losing even the slightest bit of control may cut into their profits. When surely, the opposite is true, in this case.
Well said fellow Warrior👍🥰
@@lillm6874 Thank you! 👍 🤟
Ooooh noooo!
Now I have to WAIT for part 3 👀👀
Oh well, anyways. thnx again and bunch of hugs from Arctic Norway 🤗👋👋
ikr? lol. But I get it....these videos are long. Heck, I uploaded a 5 minute video to my Instagram recently and it took FOREVER to upload. And it wasn't even that high quality. I can't even imagine the headache of uploading a 1.5 hour full reaction to something like this. >_
@@avedic Y, IK.... just me being a tad bit silly :P
It's kinda cool to see the scene where she gets that white piano for her place.
Because she would go on to do a whole bunch of livestreams sitting at that piano over the following years. I've come to love that piano....with all her art nouveau trinkets and dried flowers bathed under a purple light. :)
I really love her personal aesthetic, especially in how she decorates. It matches her vibe perfectly.
For what it's worth....she did a Q&A about this doc when it was released that's quite insightful. It was released almost 2 years after the events it portrays. She addresses how Gier, her manager, comes across in the doc. Turns out she totally loves the guy, they're very close, and he's actually quite protective of her...albeit a stoic realist. Also, this documents a very transitional time for her. Immediately following the timeline of this doc she would go on to become HYPER self actualized and in control and free and comfortable with her life and career. And today, she's only continued that trend. But this doc definitely shows the rough patch it took to get there.
Nice reaction and thanks for this and I will see you on part 3.
😊👍
I really enjoy your reaction videos because they are very thoughtful!
Thank you very much!
Can someone help me to find the link to the original documentary please?
ua-cam.com/video/n_uW-0HDWoc/v-deo.html
I don't know quite what you have in mind by original documentary, but I provide a link that is with English subtitles, hope this helps
@@Oldperson-wt3ui thank you very much for trying, I think the link got deleted by UA-cam. Have a nice day and thank you!
@@SledgeFoxIf you get yourself a VPN there are several possiibilities. The thing is, different areas doesn't have publishing rights. With a VPN you get around that
@@taccamine8312 will try that, thank you for that !
Remember she’s a teenager at this point.
Thanks for reacting to this although i have seen it before ,im afraid the strange green bubble thing for copyright is obscuring the subtitles and has triggered my migraine , not your fault , hope you enjoy whats left to see. I have found someone else showing it so will watch the rest there . Enjoy Thanks
