Love the whole room and system! The only thing I would do different if it was mine is the carpet would probably be much darker and the doors and panels would also be a darker color. Almost forgot is the projector would not be located above my head due to quiet scenes and the fan noise.
Love the video, but I was hoping you would have covered the equipment and install in more detail along with the challenges you had along with the calibration. I am sure we wouldn't mind a 30min - 1hr video.
The lighting beside the screen is a really smart idea! It can be really annoying with the lights are directly on top of the screen... great video and awesome install 👍🏼
The ceiling close to the screen needs a more matte finish like vanta black or the optional Black 3.0 paint. Or normal black wool cloth, can't believe they used semigloss ceiling paint..🙈
why...oh why... did you put CEILING speakers _behind_ the screen? B&W has sooo many awesome CWM speakers, to use CCMs was a bizarre choice. once you built a baffle wall, did you at least try to steer them to CT 8.4s? those would have made a tremendous improvement. looking around the room, i dont think the extra $3000 wouldve impeded the customer. so very happy i went with 3 CT 8.4s up front. ........................ceiling speakers....behind the screen.......very curious.
Great video and thanks for posting! Would you say the Sony 695 would be capable of properly illuminating a 180” screen? My current screen is a 1.1 gain...
Great video! But I have a quick question. I have the Anthem MRX 720, I wasn’t aware that I needed to set the distances manually first. I thought the ARC Genesis did all that. Am I incorrect?
There are always trade offs in a multi purpose room like this between design and performance. The carpet in real life though is very dull and non reflective. Thanks for watching
The acoustic panels were from Kinetics, which we can help you with. We are not sure on the brand of the couch, we did not supply those. Thanks for watching
There are a host of great brands. They key is matching up your in ceiling speakers with your others speakers in the room as best as possible. Ideally you want the same timbre--most will match up the tweeters and type of larger driver as well. So generally you want to stay in brand when adding in ceilings.
A question I can't make holes in sealing are the b&w M1s good for heights speakers,2 L and R near the listening position with the mount they have you can position them shooting down like a in sealing speakers I appreciate it if can you help because is the only thing that holding me back from start hooking everything I ask and ask but no one answers thanks
Who would take the time and money to build a home theater and says, "no blu-ray player for me just streaming?" I wouldn't have allowed that as a consultant. No ISP can match the bandwidth of a blu-ray disc. The AQ/PQ is far superior to streaming. What if they have an internet outage? I'm glad they came to their senses. :)
@@AudioAdvice I love your videos and they’re so helpful and informative. I hope what I said didn’t come across as overly critical, but I’m a bit of a boomer when it comes to physical media
I figured he must have misspoke. You wouldn’t want to put CCM’s behind a screen. That’s what CWM’s are for (Custom Ceiling Monitor/Custom Wall Monitor).
and even m o r e astounding... AU-DI-O AD-VICE is 5 syllables.... but i have _NEVER_ heard a n y o n e from this company CORRECTLY pronounce all 5 syllables. even this guy, The CEO, said Au-di Ad-vice. i dont get it......its not that difficult.
The room is beautiful. The crew is professional. But building speakers into drywall ceiling? No thanks. Drywall sounds awful no matter what measurement you use . It resonates uncontrollably. Especially bad for a movie room where you have a lot of bass, explosions etc.
I was thinking the same thing, no box bejind the speaker and not even a baffle for mounting the speaker to the dry wall. That speaker is going to vibrate itself on to the head of someone..
Only one sub it’s a huge mistake you need minimum 2 subs for serious home theater, and go with SVS PB16 16 inch 1500watts your customer will be very happy 😃
I'm sorry but no. This "advantage" that behind-screen speaker placement makes voices seem like they're coming from the characters on screen is basically stupid. Why? 3D spatial imaging from stereoscopic sources. Why the hell else have we been so fascinated with stereo imaging and stereo systems if it wasn't for how our ears work and how we perceive sound from their sources? What a stupid thing to say from an "audio" company.
If the screen is large enough then behind screen sound projection is a far better option. Only in cheaper smaller systems would you have the speaker separate from the screen.
Hi Keyboard Warrior. I’ll briefly explain. Play a movie in stereo. Something mostly dialog. Now sit to the left side of the room. Where’s the voice coming from? The left speaker. Now sit on the right side of the room. Where’s the voice coming from? The right speaker. Now play the same movie with a proper center channel. Now that left seat? Voice comes from the center. And that right seat? Voices from the center. Now if you’re a single person sitting dead center trying to save some money? Phantom center works great. But as soon as anyone sitting off axis is involved, the experience is better for multichannel mixed video content when all discretely mixed channels have their own speaker.
Great question. We need more information about your setup. If you go to www.audioadvice.com you can chat or call our team and we would be happy to review your specific situation and give you the best advice possible.
That room looks amazing. Wish I had a space that size to put my dream theater in. Congrats to the lucky homeowners
Very enjoyable video - would love to see more like this, addressing gear selection, install challenges, before and after, etc. Well done.
beautiful system, the customer will be happy

This room is outta of the world. 🤩 Hopefully can build one like that soon
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. It takes the viewer onto an exciting walk through. Well put together.

Great comment about having the van stocked!

Very nice room. Large enough and right proportion. I hope my next house will have a room just like this
Beautiful installation, top notch! 👍🏽
Just absolutely beautiful. Great job guys. Really like this behind the scenes video. Shows what went into creating these beautiful theater.
That theatre room is bigger than my whole house.... love from Hong Kong
Thanks for checking in from HK!
Great Jobs

Great thought of acoustics, but I am really wondering If you don't need Basetraps in the corners and clouds above the seating positions?
Absolutely Fantastic inofrmation
Thank you Stephen, and thanks for watching!

I bet this sounds incredible
It does! Thanks for watching
Gorgeous theater.
Isnt the screen a bit far away from seating for viewing ..??
couldnt agree more. ridiculous waste of space.
Nice sink ! 0:22
Que Lujo! Great Room
Thank you! We appreciate you watching
I noticed you went with the cm665 for the Atmos? How did that work out? Do you ever recommend the 8” size for Atmos?
It worked fine, but if you can swing the price for the 8" models, they are even better. Thanks for watching
Amazing. Which B&W speakers did you used for atmos?
Thanks! www.audioadvice.com/bowers-wilkins-ccm-683-in-ceiling-speakers

Hi James, you do need to set distances manually.
Audio Advice guess I missed that step in manual
Not clear on what speakers were used on LCR? the CCM8.5 are ceiling speakers right
What is the first movie you'd watch in this theater?
Burlesque!!
Dunkirk or Interstellar 😀
If it's full atmos, Baby Driver.
Blade Runner 2049
passengers!!!
Love the video, Can you tell me what a room like this costs roughly? Appreciate the video. Where are you guys based out of
awesome looking room but why white carpet? That carpet will pick up a lot of ambient lighting. That should be changed to a dark carpet asap.
There are always trade offs in a multi purpose room like this between design and performance. The carpet in real life though is very dull and non reflective. Thanks for watching
You should put Robert in some videos. Super knowledgeable guy known him a long time.
Does the screen have an electric masking system?
This was a great informative video. 👍🏽
Huhm.
I am a little bit baffled (audiophile pun) that the ceiling speakers were installed open air and no baffle..
Great components ! But even with a huge 144 inch screen, that huge room and sitting distance, it feels just like watching a big TV.
Can you please tell me the brand of couch and aquatic panels used in this media room? I am looking for something similar for mine. Thank you!

Thats real nice love it.
Nice vid but u didnt show the equipment at the end bummer

Glen, yes, if you can not do in ceiling, the M1 with its mount you can angle would be a good alternative. Thanks for watching!

Unfortunately streaming is taking over. The plethora of choices is amazing but BR or Kaleidescape still looks and sounds the best. Thanks for watching
