Man, nothing and I do mean NOTHING beats the original 2005 phase 2 clone trooper mold. Incredible that at the time they were like $5.88 a piece. I remember getting $20 and army building!
$29-$39 in my country ,army building ha ha oh I wish.
2005-2006 K-Mart TRU and Target was the place for star wars action figure collecting (that is if Wal-Mart didn't have squat)
Meh The 212 tvc beat it now in my country no one wants the 2005 antena mold xd just this actual mold
@@justajuan4019 I honestly wasn’t referring to that one. There was one that was among like the first 10 figures of ROTS with a changeable shoulder pad that either had the republic emblem or blank. Well, good thing there’s more than one country with opinions for collecting😎

I wish Hasbro would revisit the antenna mold with a few adjustment.
I am a fan of this mold, I can see how good it is and I really loved this update for the 501st I want to be able to have the 212 with this updated mold or see Airborne troopers in this mold
I actually own a bunch of the 501st, the JTA from ROTS and Commander Appo. those are the best clone ever. love the video BB thanks for the memories, I appreciate it
Everyone's always complaining about the mold and how they're "tired of the reuse", which is fair and true, but that obviously ain't stopping them from buying 15+ of it each time and then reselling online for over 30$.

This review definitely sold me on this figure, it's been out for almost a year and I just got it!
New TVC number just to justify a new facial sculpt? Anything to get the completists in a buying frenzy. Kind of like that episode of The Simpsons in which Malibu Stacy gets a new hat and sets-off a flood of girls buying a whole new one just for the hat - nothing else on her was was new...

I' am looking to buy more Saga 501st figures, currently only have one. The funny thing about this mold, without the bucket the figure's proportions look good and also is that if you put a pauldron, the bucket does not look bad either.
The cardback being straight-up animated is quite strange and I don't like the precedent that it sets.
Yeah... this figure doesn't compare favourably next to the Arc Troopers. I mean, it's 'ok', but place a few around Jessie, Echo or Fives, and it kinda looks like a poorer cousin.
The head sculpt is however very good indeed! 👍

That's really cool how you get these figures right away and do reviews. Great review and and you have a lot of knowledge on these clones. I agree they are too skinny and the weapons are flimsy.

I like the cardback looks great. But disappointed we didnt get a new sculpt. The 501st are integral & much loved by everyone. Which is why we all want to army build these. Yet still no sculpt, why not. A new sculpt can be reused for every single other Clone Trooper & there's a stack of them, so Hasbro would recover there costs in no time. That oversized helmet & toothpick legs really bugs me!
Great figure, I don't hate the mold. Hoping I can find a few of these in the wild. I agree 100% on the flimsy rifle, I don't know why the quality of weapons has fallen away so drastically when the figures themselves are getting so good.

I can live without replacing my original mold clone army with these guys. I get them for the various head sculpts and may sit them in vehicles if they stand out too much.
Just got one of these from Target tonight
I wasn’t a fan of this mold until I got the Walmart exclusive Fordo figure that uses it. It’s not too bad all considering, it articulates just how I want it to. The issue with this mold is the proportions but you get used to it the more you look at it and get it in some good poses. It looks best when the helmet is removed

The only things I don't like about this mold are the legs, the hand joints, and the Phase II helmets. If they tweaked the legs to have the new Bo Katan articulation, gave both hands up and down joints, and fixed the Phase II helmets? They'd be great.
My God, he'll YES that head sculpt kicks ass. The previous vc60 and all the others were terrible.
They didn't oversize vc45 helmet though! So they should've addressed this by now.
I'll keep saying it to you Timmo.... it's THE HELMET that makes this fella look worse.. but I agree legs ate skinny, but I can believe a human can fit inside the vc45 more so than this fellas is all! 😆😉
Despite the helmet size, this 501st is kinda great 👍🏼
I know the Helmet is way oversized but I will keep saying it too that the fact the body is skinny exaggerates the helmet even more. The legs of this figure are too similar to what they used for the animated line. I have another video coming about this lol.

Great review Bossk! As much as I love the alternative new card I do still need VC 60 card lol. That lose version is still better then the TVC. I think it’s the same mold as the ROTS version? What an amazing mold hope they bring it back. Our clones are not feed enough they are too skinny
I know this is a bit of an older review now. However I do feel it should be noted that the DC-15 rifle included with this figure is a new sculpt! I’d recommend comparing it closely to what’s been included with the various ARC trooper figures, where the DC-15 is a lot more flimsy. This new sculpt is still quite flexible for sure, however it’s not nearly as flimsy and even thicker in some areas.
I wish it came with a droid popper and a journal that would have took back to battlefront 2 classic also we’ve captured a command post enemy forces have captured a command post
Great looking cardback, interesting move to give it a new number and image (I would imagine it will be a straight repack on the original card at some point)!

I wish they would go back to the days of the Saga Legends/Clone Wars line where generic troopers didn’t have removable helmets. I mean, how many people are really using these guys without the helmet on? If people really wanted unmasked heads they could just include the head as an alternate piece instead of screwing up the helmets.
Why does he have a brow trim on the helmet if he’s from the clone wars show though?

Getting really tired of this mold. Really dont like how lanky the body is and how big and warped the helmet is. Worst part about it has to be its awkward leg articulation which pales in comparison to the latest tvc stormtrooper mold which itself is a bit outdated.

Hey there.. just wondering are they identical as the original vintage collection.. such as pain apps, they have the same scratch marks and battle damage as the original or did they do a whole new repaint?
hard to tell as I dont have the original loose, but the blue itself is slightly different

Agree with your assessments. Hasbro could do better in terms of scale, but the head sculpt is dang near perfect. I didn’t think they could show signs of improvement but actually this latest wave does show face sculpt perfection, especially the Corvus Ahsoka you reviewed. Nice looking wave!
