I have so much respect for this guy. In my opinion he is the most unique and creative artist right now. No one else is doing the type of stuff that he is doing.
His vocal abilities and technique are amazing, his voice is most of the times in tune. I can say this because I was in a chorus. It's a whole different situation to tell whether you like it or not. Personally, I love it. SUCH A GREAT ARTIST MAN, I LOVE YOU!
Hawt. DAY-YUM. His English got pretty damn good! In his earlier days, I couldn't hardly understand two words but I could figure it out. He covered "Hit The Road, Jack" and that's what really hooked me.
Whether you like his personality or not, egotistic? Sure, so? The kid is talented, no way around it. I don't care about his personal life, that's his, I haven't seen anything from him lately, but kid still kills it,every time
Wow, his English has gotten so much better! I remember when he sang his version of "Hit the road, Jack" and I honestly was having a hard time understanding anything AT ALL. Now he's like a pro haha! :D
Hi, ma name iz MYV yo wa sup I got a mic. From 東京 2 Rock u all with the bling bling 6 string thing. U know, its time to bang. Get u the sound made in zipang. Rock, Punk, Hiphop & Funk, bet u guys can't stop the dance. Yellow, Blue black & White, borderless party overnight. It's gon be tight, let's feel the vibe. World Peace Through Good Music, right? I Don't care wat they may say, this is my way. Today is the day to break away. Btw, u guys know my name?
I feel old......I remember myspace, and the obsession of J-rock were really on top. Good old times, now Miyavi's kids are grown up, I feel ancient haha.
Hmmm.... it wont let me post up the whole link. I'll just post up the end. You should still be able to find it. Just copy and paste. These are a few lives that I like. Give them a watch if you're interested. This was another performance at the Taylor booth. It's called "Strong" watch?v=BbRp7ADGU34 "Day 1" watch?v=Lgl_vEbdlmk "Shelter" watch?v=tvgi6LE-xnc
この人の演奏ってほんと"弾いてる"っていうよりギターが勝手に"歌ってる"ようにしか見えない…。 Every time I watch his playing, it's not like "playing a guitar." It's like the guitar is singing by itself...
I keep coming back to these Taylor clips over and over again. He's always amazing, but I love him the most when all the focus is on his skills with the guitar and the whole show is toned down. Just saw him live in Helsinki the other day and it was absolutely SUPER - but sometimes it's sad when his talent gets a bit overshadowed by his hot looks and the pop package. (Not that I complain about that, either... hmm...) The shrieking horny teen-girl crowd kind of brings the wrong first impression to people not familiar with him... But on the other side; I've noticed that he seems to inspire the pop-chicks to discover other things to his (and others') music than just catchy choruses and hot looks. And really--you gotta be close to a genius to be able to mix, not to speak of actually mesh, all the styles and influences he throws into his music. Not to speak of the fact that he's rather unique in the fact that he got big with huge focus on his playing, rather than just the songs themselves. I can't come up with many big names that are actually "guitarists accompanied by tunes" and not the other way around--"singers/bands who are ALSO good guitarists..." The polar opposites in his audience are really unusual--on one hand the young girls going nuts about the pop-aspects of his artistry, on the other hand the guitar freaks ooohhing and aahhhing over his sick style --both parties loving him. That's pretty damn cool. And hard to pull off. For me, he's pretty much the ideal artist. My taste is extremely broad and therefore, Miyavi never, ever bores me. Even the songs that I don't particularly love as a whole, catch my interest in one way or another. Cross-kitchen cooking by the mad scientist of music. His live is one of the best I've seen in terms of artistry as well--and I've seen quite a few hundred in my life. I spent quite a huge part of my strained budget on travelling to another country just to see him live the other day--and it was worth every penny even if I might have to live on noodles for a month... lol...
Does anyone know what's up with his tone knobs? The Bass and Treble knobs/pots always seem like they're ripped out. Also, any idea which mode he's set to? Is it the body-sensor/acoustic mode?
I have so much respect for this guy. In my opinion he is the most unique and creative artist right now. No one else is doing the type of stuff that he is doing.
I have fallen in love with this guy's music in a matter of minutes.

His vocal abilities and technique are amazing, his voice is most of the times in tune. I can say this because I was in a chorus. It's a whole different situation to tell whether you like it or not. Personally, I love it. SUCH A GREAT ARTIST MAN, I LOVE YOU!
Yea, I noticed it too...Sometimes he slightly struggles with high pitch, but he never hits the wrong note. Wonderful music ear.

ドラムもすげぇ
ギターはもちろんや
Over half the singers out there truly cant sing but it doesn't (usually) make them any less valued as a legitimate artist.

Really well said, perfectly explains miyavi
Fantástico!
Incrível!

What kind of strings do you use to play like that?
日本人として誇らしい♪
I love Miyavi! Have for a While! But people are right- if Les Claypool played guitar, were Japanese and wore Eyeliner... He'd be Miyavi...
miyavi has instagram! you can see pictures of jewelie and lovelie - they've grown up soooo fucking much you guys!!!! It'll make you feel sooo old lol

かっこよすぐる
That is a completely biased thing to say. They do different things, there can't be any fair comparison between those two. Both are awesome.
いいね~。。
asyikkkk... miyaviiiii
lol why are people saying he has an ego?
