I just finished watching Sopranos with my mom and we ended the show around the time it was the nine year anniversary of James Gandolfini passing away. Now suddenly we lose Tony (Paulie) too. That's a hard one for sure. RIP legend.
"What are you frightened by?" "Being alone." Wow, that has special resonance when you think about how much of Sirico's real life they ended up incorporating into his character on the Sopranos...
@ JayoJay there is no glamorous in that life. You briefly become rich and then it all fades away as time goes on. What will you have to show for it in the end? serving 50 years in prison while your "best friends" of 30 years talk shit behind your back. Not really appealing to me
You clearly have an attraction towards the mob. Only a handful haven't done serious time. It didn't really work out for because he's been in several prisons and his 4 year gun charge was the reason why he left in the first place
His answer was "being alone". Wow. In his very last scene ever in Sopranos, hes sitting outside of Satrialles Pork store, which used to be crowded with a bunch of wise guys, all of whom are dead now. Hes sitting there all alone. Sun bathing.
The fact that he says being alone is what he is most afraid of puts Paulie’s character into better perspective. The remember whens. When he brings up to Tony that he never comes over anymore. Paulie was alone in the series and only had his Ma who was in Green Grove. Sure he had the girlfriend when Chrissy was shot, but that’s not the same as a family and his home was always empty.
Great to see this interview. Shows how the real man really was struggling and hurting on the Inside. This interview really shows his "gangster" mannerisms. True legend
I was telling my buddies at work about this interview a week ago. They never saw it so we watched it together. Here it is, not a full week later and Tony has died. RIP to the man who I consider to be the best character on the Sopranos
Yes he does bigtime, could be due to the fact that he doesn't have to shout and also because the mic is right there to where he can just talk in a low calm voice. But if Christopher pisses him off, he's gonna be the Paulie we all know real quick.

Sadly the legend just passed away. Rip Tony Sirico, a real gentleman.
A gentleman??? Hahah, he was a fucking scumbag.
Tony Sirico lived the life ..a hard life but turned it all around in an amazing way . Great guy and amazing actor .
Tony Sirico: "I'm stuck with the name Junior, I'm 45 years old, would you like it?"
Uncle Junior: He never had the makings of a Junior.
Small hands that was his problem ✋
But I'm guessing that he DID have the makings of a varsity athlete. 😛

Minus the comrade and you got yourself a great quote.
I just finished watching Sopranos with my mom and we ended the show around the time it was the nine year anniversary of James Gandolfini passing away. Now suddenly we lose Tony (Paulie) too. That's a hard one for sure. RIP legend.
The sailor jumped out the tree and came at me with a chainsaw. I got the right to defend myself Tone!

You don't sail in this neighbourhood!

The Golden River ... bahahahaha

lol my fav episode
"What are you frightened by?"
"Being alone."
Wow, that has special resonance when you think about how much of Sirico's real life they ended up incorporating into his character on the Sopranos...
@ JayoJay there is no glamorous in that life. You briefly become rich and then it all fades away as time goes on. What will you have to show for it in the end? serving 50 years in prison while your "best friends" of 30 years talk shit behind your back. Not really appealing to me
whats that got to do with anything?
You clearly have an attraction towards the mob. Only a handful haven't done serious time. It didn't really work out for because he's been in several prisons and his 4 year gun charge was the reason why he left in the first place
very good interesting observation sir, real talk
His answer was "being alone". Wow. In his very last scene ever in Sopranos, hes sitting outside of Satrialles Pork store, which used to be crowded with a bunch of wise guys, all of whom are dead now. Hes sitting there all alone. Sun bathing.
This guy was associated with the Colombo Family. He was definitely a tough dude.
"The best day of my life is the day that I fell out of love with her." WOW...
"that girl" he said. Don't misquote the man.

"Yeah, and nothing ever did. So what?"
My favorite quote
Holy shit this hit close to home. The way Tony talks about his biggest fear was being alone, so relatable.
RIP legend
The fact that he says being alone is what he is most afraid of puts Paulie’s character into better perspective. The remember whens. When he brings up to Tony that he never comes over anymore. Paulie was alone in the series and only had his Ma who was in Green Grove. Sure he had the girlfriend when Chrissy was shot, but that’s not the same as a family and his home was always empty.
He literally had one chair right in front of the TV in his living room. Dude was never expecting any visitors.

“Don’t need the money?” What a really perfect gangster answer.

Adrian Veidt No! no! no! He does not! No we did not! But he doesn't he sounds the same on The Sopranos!
Adrian Veidt no he doesn’t dumb ass. Sounds just like he does on the show
Yes he does bigtime, could be due to the fact that he doesn't have to shout and also because the mic is right there to where he can just talk in a low calm voice. But if Christopher pisses him off, he's gonna be the Paulie we all know real quick.

Because I play metal gear solid, specifically recalling the came "Snake Eater" I just thought of the character call, The Fear whose resemblance is Tony Sirico aka Paulie. He was jumping out of trees attacking.
