I have 3 jars of your butters and it has last me a while ..I wanted to say thank you and please continue making these butters😁 because I will continue to buy them
Doing braids back to back, def thinned my hair so shes right, just do some twists WITH youre own hair and keep that in for a week, and then take the twist out, wear it for a few and wash then re do the twists...
I'm a short-term girl all the way. I like being able to shampoo, condition, detangle, and style frequently. My scalp is on the oily side so I need to shampoo at least once if not twice a week. Generally, it's every 5days for me. It isn't typical, but I've grown my hair using WnG styling 90% of the time. Sometimes I'll do a twisted updo or a bun.
Yes, there are many things to put into consideration, lifestyle, environment etc.. so its definitely going to be different for everybody. For me long-term protective styling has been working for me when it comes to improving the fullness and length of my hair😊
Short-term is the way to go for me. I mostly wash my hair every 2 weeks. 3 weeks depending on my work life. I refresh my scalp with rosewater in between wash days to sooth the itchiness and loosen up the sebum. I naturally have an oily scalp so this routine has help me alot. I usually do medium size flat twists for my 2-3 week of protective styling. Occasionally I'll do mini twists, which last me for up to 4 weeks. I like to do mini twists every 2 to 3 months.
You're the only natural youtuber I've heard state that it's the ends that mostly matter in growing long hair. Everybody focuses on the scalp but all that growth is pointless if you ignore the ends.
I think the issue with any protective style is people not washing often enough. Hair simply isn’t designed to go for long stretches without water. I tried that once and had unbelievable shedding and hair was so fragile. I could see why so many women (that I knew) who only protective styled had thinned out hair. Now, protective style or not, I don’t wear any style I can’t wash in just a few days. Made all the difference in my shedding and my hair was soft and strong because it could actually relieve nutrients from leave-ins when it’s a fresh slate. Edit: oh look at that we’ve had similar experiences 😂. I like answering perspective questions before watching the whole to see how it compares.
My hair is high porosity it seems, I could never go two weeks without remoisturizing! In one week I have to redo and remoisturize my short term protective style (usually big/ medium twists), and even by then it will be a little crunchy in outer exposed areas. I wash in 2 and a half or 3 weeks.
Braids thinned me out too. I have to spritz or get the humidity in the shower. Water and oils/butter and 2 braids under my wigs. Corn rows breaks my hair out bad still moist on the inside.
I mostly do short term . But I do long term when I’m trying to see a significant difference in length . I still wash and condition . I’m currently in a 2 to 3 month protective style, box braids with no extensions. Last time I did this was 2 years ago and it helped a lot .
I don’t wear fake hair anymore, but I do wear head wraps a lot now and I think it’s starting to make my hair a bit thin because of how much I wear them. Another great hair UA-camr mentioned that head wraps can smother your hair and start to negatively affect your hair vs doing good.
@Lady LaTre'viette Phantumhive Do you wear satin scarves or a satin base? Also do you wear your hair in cornrows, twists underneath? This is very helpful for me so my hair stays moisturized and my scalp is more exposed in cornrows or twists so it can breathe
@@pmw5422 yes I wear satin scarves and I will put on a satin base if my scarf is cotton. I wear braid-twists. I dont do cornrows in my hair, haven't for years (after my hair passed waist length). I work from home so I got used to wearing head wraps all the time in the house and I just ended up wearing them all the time when I would go out as well. So I almost never wear my hair out. Im working to change that now. My hair is still super thick, but it used to be thicker than what it is now mostly due to it shedding a lot. But Im working on my diet and exercising more, so that should help a ton, on top of letting my hair breathe.
One thing I learnt: to moisturize cornrows, use liquid mixed with conditioner and oil and spray everyday. I also have low porosity hair but and buns help me keep the moisture. Thanks!
I think my hair loves protective styles that are no longer than a month to a month and a half MAX. Anything longer is begging for matting and issues.Great video btw!!!
The ends retain the length ❤ Personally my hair is strong enough to withstand matting up. I'm also able to care for my during the long-term protective style. I don't advise it but it works for me.
Queen, Iam so shook. You are so gorgeous, classy and feminine.Your hair is voluptuous and lovely. Don't know where you've been! Omg I love it here! Thanks for all of the amazing tips. New subbie❤️
Box braids thinned my hair out as well. Took me way too long to pinpoint that as the culprit. I've been doing mini twists for about 7 months, and im seeing so much improvement in my density and length.
Something I noticed about my hair in long term protective styles is that I'm able to add more product because I don't have to worry about my hair looking greasy. So usually my hair is still super moisturized underneath the protective style. This is only if I do the prep myself though. If the stylist does it with her own products then usually it gets dry quickly. But I've experienced tons of times, taking down a sew in where my hair feels super soft and quite pliable despite not being wet.
I really love your videos! They’re straight to the point, you explain things in a way that makes sense and you give lots of helpful information. Thank you for doing these 🥰
For some reason watching you make me feel so organised. But i have straight hair and havd the feeling that braiding etcetera would only damage more I honestely can ot imagine that brushing every day would not be enough
I wore braids one time and my hair thinned out so bad it was terrible it looked like I had heat damage even though I didn’t use heat. Haven’t worn them since

I have hands in hair syndrome I love my hair too much I did some low tension butterfly locs right now leaving it in for 4-6 weeks
@jaiynabrown851. If the type of braids that you are getting back to back is too tight for your hair follicle.... you will experience hair thining.

I didn't actually know about rosewater! That's a great tip

Yes! Tuck those ends! Game changer ❤️
Definitely

I envy you, my hair screams it's displeasure in the amount of shed I get with even gentle longish term protective styles!!!
@@ChesireWaltz maybe ur doesn't tolerate those? Try short term low maintenance styles.

Girlll.. You are so beautiful ❤️❤️, you are literally glowing. I love your smile 🥺😍
Aww thank-you so much!
You can still grow long hair with twists outs and wash and gos and leaving it out you just have to have the right technique.

How can I buy your butter
Hi Latanya ~
Thanks for your comment!
You can buy them here: ifshesopleases.com/collections/all
With your butters do you use them everyday?
Hi Jonesha
Thanks for your comment!
I use them on my ends every-day when my hair is out, yes
Six weeks
Do individual braiding without extensions cause issues? That’s what I do now
I think they're much better than braids with extensions :)
My best advice would be to watch your hair carefully and see how it reacts
