22 videos! My new binge watch. You hear about some hick digging a basement by hand and you just know nothing good is going to come of that! I just started and this guy “looks” like he knows what he’s doing.
I’d never heard of a guy successfully digging a basement. To be fair most don’t have the skills/money/stick to itiveness to get er done. You might just make money selling off the equipment.
It was a JCB model 8008 CT10 (or CT8) that was modified into an electric by a company called CreteBusters in Cincinnati. Occasionally these come up for sale in the NE USA. I found this one in Chicago. If you go to my channel and watch the video called "Goodbye to the mini excavator" you will see great detail, in addition to another video on the excavator & power cart I built for it. If you are in USA, Sunbelt also rents electrics now, but they may also need a genset to run.
@@diycrawlspacedigoutunderpi4201 Yes! i just got done watching that video. Thanks for the info. I am doing this in the near future but probably not to the same extent you did. but an electric ex would be a huge time and back saver.
I noticed some of the rental yards are now carrying hybrid excavators that run on either diesel or electric. I don't have more detail than that - just saw one on an equipment trailer that had a backpack electrical unit hanging off the counterweight. It was a bigger machine, though, maybe 3,600#
None of them sound here carry them. So I got some big fans to draw air thru the space. Kubota has a tier 4 engine and the whole thing fit thru the door I had.
John, on the last 10 seconds of the video a panel pops up in the screen. If you would please tag that, it will take you to my channel which has a series of updates/ work videos & (currently) 2 recaps. Let me know if any problems.
There is no sanitary system designed to process sand, clay, or rubble. I can't imagine how much damage you've done, and what the ongoing and long-term costs to repair it would be.
@@diycrawlspacedigoutunderpi4201 So called "sanitary systems" are figments of the liberal media. I have a _constitutional_ right to flush whatever I want down the toilet! (PS - I'm kidding)
I didn't need a deeper basement, didn't see any mess, and didn't feel any stress. I did get a lot of satisfaction from bringing in a significant project with a very attractive return on investment.
Just as one person’s junk is another person’s treasure, one person’s stress could be and in this case is another person’s relaxation and accomplishment.
Good project. Very fortunate to have a neighbor that needs fill. Good for him, saves you the cost of having to pay for trucks to haul it away.
You're the best neighbor in the world
Superb project. Nice work. Love that electric digger.

Yup, some hicks do know what they're doing.

this disposal is the true meaning of one mans garbage is another mans gold. score for both ends
Wow too much fun. Would have loved to help.
what is the brand of Mini-ex you used? I have had difficulty finding an electric one.

How about setting the camera up a film some work.

This looks like an expensive project!
We ended up at just under $50k all in including plumbing , heating, & radiant heat system..
When I dug out my basement I just flushed all the dirt down the toilet.

I would probably sell the house and buy another house with a deep basement, rather than go through all of this expense and mess and stress.
