    Climbing is a hard sport. Not only do we need the physicality to perform difficult moves, we also need the thoughtfulness to find the easiest path possible. This shifting between brawny try-hard and brainy strategizing is what makes climbing so intriguing. But sometimes, there comes in moment in climbing where the move you have to do just feels too hard, like an insurmountable obstacle in your way.

    So kinda like approaching it like a difficult math problem: cut it into smaller problems and solve each of them separately, then bring them all together.

      This! 💯 I find it super encouraging. It can feel overwhelming to try new and harder routes and breaking them down into sections really helps me to work on a project.

    Small piece of feedback for this video: I appreciated you introducing routes as "this orange v4" or "this yellow v7". Sometimes it's hard to gauge the difficulty of a route just watching you climb it through a screen; it's really helpful having the context of "oh this move should come a bit easier due to this grade" or "oh this move will take a lot more practice since it's a few levels higher than my current ability". I know there's a ton of nuance to routes and climbs and grades, but taking the extra second or two to describe a route with its grade was at least really helpful to me personally.

    The way the cerebral and physical aspects come together in climbing is super rewarding. I love the approach this channel takes

    Your way of explaining the moves and techniques are really good. I started 3 years ago with 31 years and now I'm in a 7b (V8) level in bouldering. Your videos has been my main font of knowledge in my first steps. Please don't stop making this videos

    I appreciate the way you approach climbing. It's so smart & strategic! You don't just tell people to get stronger, but instead provide insights for problem-solving that are transferrable to other sports or even to work-related problems. Thank you!

    Your detailed and various scaling principles are tremendously inspiring and helpful! It really encourages to try and experiment instead of giving up entirely moving to the next boulder project ❤

    I am abit confused because I have seen people saying it took them a few weeks to break into v3's but I went bouldering for the first time 4 days ago and I already managed to complete a couple v3's and was even trying v4's (which was unsuccessful) is this normal to be able to do or do I need to find a better place to go to?

    • @ascotter
      @ascotter Рік тому +2

      Indoors at least that’s fairly normal. It depends on how fit you are before. Most people generally seem to stop progressing as quickly around V4-V6 I notice
