- The Finn Brothers performing in Melbourne in support of "Everyone is Here." Provided to me by a new UA-cam friend from Down Under.
Check out my other Finn and Crowded House Videos. Please rate and comment! I love hearing from other Finn fans!
One of the greatest joy's in music is Tim Finn accompanying his baby brother. If you listen enough Tim actually sings a micro second behind Neil...like a wee echo. He always does it and it is always awesome.
Tim, Neil and Split Enz Deserve to be inducted into the RR Hall Of Fame, Full Stop!
Absolutfucking yes!!! Voices of angels!! Such amazing talent.
Without a doubt... two innovative musicians, who just happen to have unending talents..
Why the fuck are they not already? They are a gift to music.
You are forgetting Crowded House....
They’re the most consummate musicians, the second greatest band after the Beatles. Their work is so profoundly beautiful and melodic and uplifting. Saw them live a year ago and my husband and I agreed it was probably the best live performance we’d ever experienced. I’ve loved them since days after the death of my mother when their music lifted me up 34 years ago.
This beautiful song stopped me dead in my tracks.... Incredible!
Some of Tim's finest songs were a memorial to the awful depression he suffered over the years, something most of us have endured at some stage to some degree, but few faced with such courage.
It’s especially poignant when you consider that they also lost Split Enz and Crowded House drummer Paul Hester to depression.
I wouldn't say MOST people have suffered real depression.
Is this the best session that Tim & Neil have ever done, i think so. Great line up.
This song takes on an even greater meaning knowing that their Dad Richard (Dick) Finn, passed away a couple of days ago, joining their Mum, Mary.
Thank you both, for leaving the world such treasure, in the form of your children.
Godspeed, and may you Rest in Peace.
"Once in a while I return to the fold,
to the people I call my own.
Even if time is just a flicker of light
And we all have to die alone.
What does it mean when
You belong to someone,
When you're born with a name,
And you carry it on.
It means that I won't give in,
Won't give in,
Won't give in..."
Condolences to Neil, Tim, and all of the Finn family. We stand with you.
Didn't know that, how sad. And I agree with you!
This is a lovely comment.
:)
These two are a one of a kind. Some of the most natural harmonic voices in music history, along with Simon and Garfunkel. Honoured to be listening to them for over 25 yrs.
Yep.
Tim and Neil are over the top fantastic.., and what a band they put together for this tour!
We saw them in the Netherlands 2005. So very good!!! ❤❤
I listened to this song a lot when my dad got cancer for the first time.
"when you're born with a name and you carry it on"
Neil and Tim, thank you
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again..PURE AWESOMENESS! 🙏 many thanks
Best ever, these two together. ❤❤❤

Absolutely stunning it hurts ! Brings tears to my eyes. It touches so many emotions a feat that few artists achieve. I will love these guys and Crowded House as long as I have ears to listen and a heart that beats.
Your heart felt response is genuinely moving. Thank you.
I feel exactly the same. The artistry here is like an arrow through my soul.
Lagedor

that opening verse is staggeringly beautiful in its delivery
this lifted the roof off the olympia theatre in dublin when they toured it,there was a standing ovation for about 3mins i never seen anything like it,s still a very special memory
That harmony is like nothing I've ever heard. Stunningly beautiful. I hope they collaborate again.
Listen to the Everly Brothers.
Amazing song! Deserves much greater recognition! 👌🏼
Mum and Dad Finn must be so proud of their immensely talented boys. Love their music.
Tim and Neil harmonizing. Hands down, the best.
yup and when they also brought in Paul Hester & Nick Seymour to harmonise, it was something to behold indeed, even with out Tim for that matter, as good as The Beatles....nearly...
Michael Arnould nah I'd say waaay better.
@@michaelarnould6958 Interesting Paul McCartney quoted Niel Finn the best not sure in writting in music

That drum fill at 0:25 while Neil sings intro is perfect.
100%
A very very very important song in my life. Thank you.
This song grooved and rocked MY BRAINS IN!! Having said that, I've viewed this clip several times, scanning the audience for THEIR response - for crissake people this ain't a Perry Como concert! Sitting there like they're back in a college lecture hall. I mean, I couldn't find one person getting off on this number, yet you couldn't tell by the applause afterward. C'mon now!
Mike Lord I think they were mesmerized. I know I would have been.
Takes me back to a happier time
Was blessed to see Neil and Tim in Lawrence, KS when this album came out❤️. Took my youngest son, who is now a huge Split Enz/Crowded House fan too🥰
What a tune
These guys are legends
These guys grew up down the road from me I remember seeing Niel at at jam sessions in barns throughout winter as a teenager, then having to spend all my pocket money to go see them play at the Mount in summer when we where 18

What I would give to be a Finn brother. Loveliness.
Might be my most favorite song, in a huge list of favorite songs... Saved me more than once, helps me keep going...
I'd forgotten how much I love this.
U will alwayz spit Enz ..Never that other ..
Beautiful dynamics - the true craft of making music.
This song is absolutely stunning. The harmonies between the Finn Brothers are gorgeous!
Thank you😊😊
Nothing, but nothing, can beat the harmonies of the Finn brothers on this most stupendous song, which I think is about the death of their Mum.
Sonic Goodness and Beauty!
Thank You, Brothers Finn!
What a soul-stirring number this is, beautiful lyrics, superb harmonies (as usual) and love the drums, brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
Saw split enz with naked suits on at elder park, adelaide. I was 13, I laughed & loved
Then, pooraka hotel & I knew crowded were on their way.
Then, the office with Tim
Then, then, Thebarton theater, crowded.
I regretted not being there for a busk & Tim's signings but...
I was pretty young
You 2 brothers & co, are beautiful singers / songwriters.
Thankyou sincerely
Loved forever from
Adelaide SA xxoo
I’ve loved the you amazingly talented men since the early (?) 80’s!!! ❤️
This song and that album are very special for sure.
wont give in, beautiful song.
I saw them in Manchester on this very tour it was the most moving and intimate thing i had ever seen.
Love this song 😊
I’m not a massive fan. But there’s something about this song. Reminds me of happy times, living in Wellington, saw them live and they were amazing.
Cuba street. Molly malones. Radio hauraki. Office cricket and beers at 5pm on a Friday. Great times.
One of my favorite bands and song writers.
GREAT SONG - they should play it live more often ❤
Thankyou Ty for that. The Finn brothers live, is brillant and they make it look so easy because they are pros
Two of NZ's finest
Great video, great band, great music !!!
great song from a phenomenal album; so deeply heartfelt and musical
End of an era.
My dad underwent LSD tests with the promise he wouldn't have to go to Vietnam. He wound up being drafted and he spent a year in Cu Chi, hammered by rockets from the day he landed in-country until the day he flew out. Your songs are pretty.
Just WONDERFUL...💓
just too beautiful... thank you for this gift.
Fantastic song!!! Love it so much!!!
love this song SO very much :)
Fucking hell, this is great. The electric guitar and drums at the end add so much. Love it
infinite. Thank you Finn bros
SENSATIONAL.
SpitEndz will live 4 ever in the long white cloud ..
i,d pay the internet forever...just to here this song .......yes i am a crowdie ...but it is beautiful
Great tune
I miss these Max Music Sessions - they were really good. And this was one of the great ones. I think Paul Hester hosted it.
Thanks so much for sharing this joyous music with the world!
The drummer is Jeremy Stacey and the lead guitarist/keyboardist is Paul Stacey. These brothers are the best musicians!!! They are Brits and their bios are available on-line. It is appropriate that they linked up with the Finn Brothers for the Max Session. Have you noticed that they sound better live than on the CD? That is amazing. See "Finn Brothers Max Sessions"
Jack Smith This you'll not believe but I was literally wondering who the two rocked-out David Mitchells actually were (I kid you not!) ... Thank you!!!!!
The Stacey brothers toured with Neil and Tim for the entire Everyone Is Here Tour in 2004-2005, but did not play on the studio album. Had a chance to meet them in Auckland after the last show of the tour. Very nice gentlemen.
Brothers playing and touring with brothers. How cool is that?
Superb harmonies. Finn Bros the best
This song just has that feeling to it. Inspirational x
I woke with this playing in my head. Beautiful melancholy.
Too beautiful x I only just discovered this song and it makes me cry! So beautiful!
Thanks for this song . I used it as remembrance for a grand old lady Myra Walsh.
A great matriarch of the walsh , kirner, and Longdin family . It fitted in well with her passing and last days.
Luv u Nana Walshy always
Amazing... my favourite Now! Love the off piano and course harmony.
Needs to be rerecorded and rereleased.
Such brilliant performers.
This is one brilliant song!
Brilliant
To me Niel always sounds and plays better with Tim. Wish these two did more together.
They have collaborated a hell of a lot together over the years starting of course with Split Enz and then Tim was on many of Crowded House’s albums most noticeably Woodface.
Their voices together are magic and words are so emotional and profound. Have loved these guys for 40 years
I totally agree. They sing so well together.
Ireland's greatest export to New Zealand...their Mammy !
Just stunningly beautiful!!
Ty, I put this on my Twitter site. I hope this is okay. It's just beautiful. I didn't think about problems. I'll remove it, if it is not a good thing to do.
