I thought you doing wrong on main applicant expiry date when you go to pay IHS
I hope you are doing well. If I got your question correctly, you're talking about the expiry date for BRP (for main applicant) while filling out the applicant for dependent.
1) You can either mention the expiry that's shown on the BRP.
2) Or you can mention estimated expiry date (For eg : Two years from now)

"Your partner and children can also apply to join you or stay in the UK as your ‘dependants’ if they’re eligible. They’ll need to complete separate applications".

On the other hand if you are applying from inside the UK then the appplication from will tell you whether you can include your dependant (partner and children) or they need to apply separately. In your case, if you have filled it from inside the UK and less amount was deducted, I will advise you to wait for sometime and see what email you get from the UK authority regarding your application.

1) I don't think a dependant can go for a graduate visa without the UAN number of main applicant.
2) Yes, if the main applicant has got his/her graduate visa, you can use the BRP number in the dependant application (by saying yes to the question "does (name of the applicant) already have thir graduate visa".

No, you need to apply for the visa before the expiry of the current BRP (one day before will also work but not after that). This is what I believe but you can check with UKVI department if you still have doubts.

Hi Padma, In that case it should have asked for the main applicants BRP number. On the other end when you say "No" it will all for the UAN number which is generated at the end of main applicants application. The dependenats application is linked to main applicant using that UAN number.

Hi Dharmik, I hope you are doing well. To answer your question, once the remaining IHS amount is paid, it mostly takes between 20-25 days of time for the decision (for dependant). It may take longer if it's Christmas and New Year time.

Yesterday i applied psw when i applied for my husband as dependent but Nh fee no cut just they cut application fee so im worried because i paid my all fee but my husband fee is pending so please tell me there is no any kinc of problem
Hi Akashdeep, don't worry about it. Once the application for the main applicant is successful, on the same day the dependent will receive an email with the link to pay the IHS fees. I have made a video on this covering all the doubts and would advise you to check once.

Thanks for your video! I would like to ask, when you provided your proof of funds, did you used online bank statements with bank seal in it? I am asking this since the bank account I have my funds is outside my country so I am not sure If I can send online bank statements and will be enough (my bank's website says that it is as valid as a statement on paper. Those statement do not have the seal but the logo of the bank) Thanks in advance!
Hi Alexander, thank you for reaching out. I used the online joint bank statement with bank name (logo) and physical address mentioned on it (without the seal). Further, I would advise you to upload more than 1 proof on the HMRC website.
To add, the statement and the orther proofs were provided as "partner relationship details evidence" for the PSW dependant visa.

Hello... I applied for my husband's dependent visa. I selected approximatly main applicant extended date Feb 2026.I don't get my extended visa yet.Now it showing 1560 IHS fees. So what should I do next??
Hi Priyansi, I hope you are doing well. I would advise you to use the expiry date showing/reflecting on the main applicants BRP card (edit it if you can). In case you are unable to make any changes now, don't worry and pay the amount showing on the screen currently. UKVI will refund the extra amount once the main applicants application is successful and they start working on the dependent's application.

Hi, I am able to scan my BRP chip with the phone but its not taking my full given name.
My full given name is Parthkumar Shaileshkumar
But it’s only scanning it as P S as given name.
On front of my BRP my full name is given but at the back of my BRP where machine readable code is there its only P S.
Is it going to be a problem?

Further, you can add a cover letter stating that your full given name is "Parthkumar Shaileshkumar" and this is how you want it on your new BRP card (on the old one it's like that). Hi Ruksana, I hope you are doing well. You need to take an appointment and finish the application before the expiry of the current BRP. I don't think taking biometrics appointment only (not applying for the visa before the current expiry) allows a person to stay legally in the country.

If you can still edit the details, then mention the expiry date that is seen on the main applicant's BRP. In case, you are unable to edit the dtails and want to proceed ahead with the same application, you can do it and the extra amount deducted will be refunded by UKVI once the application is successful.
Further, if you have not paid any fees and want to start a fresh application, you can also do that.

Hi Faisal, I hope you are doing well. I hope you are only applying for yourself as the main applicant. So please select "NO" where it's asking for dependants information (do you have any dependants - if you're sure with that). It should not ask anything about dependant then.

While I am applying for my graduate visa along with my dependent, while clicking on IHS payment option,dependant’s application shows their visa as graduate visa and two year route, whereas beneath shows mine also the same. There’s option for mine to change the visa type, but there isn’t an option to change dependent’s visa.

Very informative video. I'm confused about one thing.
I just finished applying for the graduate visa, and now I'm gonna apply for my wife as dependent. While paying the IHS, in "the person you are joining or remaining with" section there is a Visa Route box. Should I select Student or Graduate. As my application decision is still pending and I'm still on my student visa, I'm confused what to select.

Hi Sumaira, I hope you are doing well. Yes, my partner did receive the link to pay the remaining IHS fees once my application was successful. So, once the application for the main applicant is successful, the dependant will receive an email on the same day with the link to pay the remaining amount.

To answer your question, the dependant who cannot scan their passport or BRP using the app, they’ll be asked to get their fingerprints and photograph taken at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) service point. So, your husband doesn't need to go to the VFS centre as he is able to prove his indentity by scanning the BRP. Hi Aaqib, thank you for reaching out. To answer your question, yes you can work legally while you have applied for the dependant psw and are waiting for the decision. Further, you need to prove your right to work by generating a share code (will be used by the employer and is valid for the next 90 days) and must have your NI number handy.

Hi Prashant, I hope you are doing well. So, the expiry date on your BRP would be 31st of Dec 2024. All the people who have received their BRP now (for graduate visa) will see the same date and the reason is that UKVI is plannning to go digital. You must have received a letter along with your BRP stating that it will be valid till 31st Dec 2024. Further, you can prove your right to work status online which will show the actual expiry of your Graduate visa (link for that - www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work). You can find this information related to the BRP expiry on the Gov.Uk site using the below link:

Once the main applicant receieves the decision, on the same day the dependant will receive an email to pay the remaining amount. This process can take roughly around 20 to 25 days.

Hello Ashlin, I would advise you to wait and see what UKVI says. It's not necessary that they will ask for evidence. Further, if you cancel the application, you will not get the refund for visa fees but only the IHS.

Thank you for reachng out. Can you please advise, which visa document she has (if not the BRP). According to the information availble on the www.gov.uk wesbite, you partner will need:
-A valid passport or other document that shows their identity and nationality
-Their biometric residence permit (BRP), if they were given one when they applied to be a dependant on your Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa
-They’ll also need your application number - you’ll get this when you apply. This number is called a Unique Application Number (UAN). You’ll find it on emails and letters from the Home Office about your application.
Your partner needs to prove her identity and that is usually do this by scanning the biometric residence permit (BRP).

Once you go for the dependant application, select the option of no BRP and then follow the instructions. After you follow the instructions, there would be a question about the main applicant (whom the dependant is joining) and it will ask for one of the references from a list of five, select BRP number and proceed further (it should be straight forward after that). Further, if you get some doubts and want to double check on things, do check with UKVI once before submitting the application. Use the below details for that:

Hope you are doing well. I have 2 queries. My husband doesn't have a surname and we are applying for a graduate route.While creating an account they are asking us about the surname. Just below the surname they had given an information that surnames can be a to z, hyphen, apostrophes.Even after typing hyphen ( we have tried all these symbols: -, '-', " ","-")still it is not getting accepted. What should I type in the surname?
2. If I create an account with a given name and surname using the same name. Will that be printed as double names( like 2 times)on BRP.

Hi Uzma, thank you for reaching out. I'm not 100 percent sure about this, but to the extent what I know or have red is:
1) You should write things matching the details on your passport.
2) We can mention LNU (Last name unknown) as the surname while submitting the application
3) To answer your second question, yes there is a possibility that the same name may be printed twice.
I would advise you to contact the UKVI department using the below details before submitting the application:

Can we delete the current application and restart it before paying the fees?
@@josnajoseph562 yeah you can do it 3 times per day. After 3 times your account gets locked and will open after 24 hrs

hi brother i applied my dependent visa and my visa expires 30 of jan 2024 when i try to pay my ihs fees they show me 0.00 GBP and they gave me reference number but they did not charged my ihs plzz tell me even my application is submitted

my stay in UK is less than 6 months. Now my husband's and my visa is expiring on 31st May. And he is going to apply for PSW in a week now. But if He can't get BRP within 31st May and I couldn't apply before finishing my visa so, then after can I apply for my visa with his PSW?
And without BRP Can I apply for my Visa with his PSW visa?

Hi Ayushi, thank you for reaching out. You don't have to wait for your husband to get the BRP/Visa. Once he files his application, he will be getting a unique reference number. Please use that reference number while filling/submitting your application for the dependant graduate route visa.
Note : You can apply for the new visa a day before your current visa is expiring and need to fill a separate application for the dependant route using main applicant's reference number (In your case : husband is the main applicant).

@@thefailedengineer9391 Hii… my situation like this , my wife is main applicant but I don’t have brp because my visa is less then 6month but when I m fill the application for dependent graduate application there is option “ Do you have a valid UK biomatric residency permit (BRP)” what I do in “yes or no” and than I know what to do but in the last they give option for biometric appointment??? Please help
@@impraveen5425 Hi Praveen, you need to select "NO" and moved ahead using your passport details. In the end if they are telling you to book an appointment, you need to do that because you don't have BRP to prove the identity online.

Hi Pranita, thank you for reaching out. Yes, once the main applicants application is successful, the dependant will get an email on the same day with the link to pay.
During the ihs payment, in the estimated visa expiry date I kept 2+24 months of time, and the payment amount showed 1560 instead of 1248. Is is okey to pay the full amount? When and how can I get the refund of the extra 312 that I paid?

Hi Dilpreet, thank you for reaching out. Result aane ke bad, University home office ko inform karti hai ki student ne degree successfully complete kar li hai. Iske bad apko University se mail aayega CAS number ke sath. CAS number University ke through aane ke bad aap kabhi bhi PSW apply kar sakte hai.
