This album reminds me of a time I discovered and listened to VAPORWAVE ironically. I found the name funny. Little would I know you flash forward a few years and this genre and all of its variations, future funk, mall soft, synth wave, would become all I listen to
the samples used here are so obvious we dont have to think twice if its bb or not, i think he made this alternate name because every track is carried by the sample itself, unlike his bb albums where its a lot more than the sample
Wow!!! That sample at the end (5:59) of GEOMAGNETIC STORM is Aurora by Foo Fighters... but is you listen closely you might hear it very processed and altered through the track. I've never though that a FF song could be use for "a e s t e t i c" purposes hahaha
GOD DAMN IT ECO VIRTUAL!!! When i come up with ideas for vapor i should always check to see if it's been used by him or not. This is like a mixtape of memories. First listening can found samples from enigma, beyond the minds eye, and Final fantasy 8. This album feels extremely personal to a guy like me who grew up in Ontario from 1991
Enigma - Sadeness (track 1) was also reference for "Streets Of Rage 2" soundtrack. This track + vaporwave makes me wish there was a Streets of VAPOR mod for Streets of Rage Remake.
I got most Enigma records on CD from back in the day and there is something distinctly 90's about them. I am a underwhelmed though by what ECO VIRTUAL did with this one. Vaporwave shines when it transforms obscure 80's and 90's tracks into something mesmerizing (like in リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー ). Taking Enigma's most popular work and adding a tiny hint of trap with the high-hats comes across as lazy and uninspired. There is a lot of untapped potential in the MCMXC a.d. album as source material for Vaporwave.
I know what you mean, but to be fair, I don’t think the full-on Plunderphonics approach to Vaporwave sampling was ever ECO’s/Blank Banshee’s strong suit. He definitely shines brighter when he’s just incorporating a sample in an original piece, (like on Teen Pregnancy and other BB project tracks) but I still get a bit of a kick out of the treatment a lot of these tracks got.
As a big fan of enigma i totally agree, its nice to see their songs in new atmospheres (specially in vaporwave) , cretu was an underground artist he created his own scene just like the vaporwave artists did
It's great to listen to, but Enigma's songs had so much more potential for remixing. ストーンヘンジで大麻喫煙 and 熱帯雨林サーフ don't really distinguish themselves that much from original work. He put in much more effort in other Atmospheres albums.
Guys it goes like this 1. Atmospheres 1 2. Atmospheres 4 3. Atmospheres 2 4. Atmospheres 3 And that’s not to say it’s bad or anything it just doesnt hit as hard as the other 3. Like these albums still saved my life.
13:45 The sample of Enigma "return to innocence" is so perfect on this album.
6:10 Yes, this Madonna song needed to be sampled sometime. Such an aesthetic sound

ArtWork Level - Legendary
Beautiful album indeed!
実に美しいアルバムだ!
Interesting fact: Eco Virtual is also Blank Banshee, Which actually makes a lot of sense given the trap influences in the albums
What!?!?!?!

NO WEI 🤯
This is my favorite of the atmospheres series. What an excellent dreamy bit of music...

OMG that First Track..... My mother had a Techno CD that I swear had that exact song!
'Sadness' by Enigma
I'm being pedantic, but it's actually 'Sadeness', as in, relating to the Marquis de Sade... it's quite obvious in the lyrics.
first track literal banger
This is amazing thank you
The 9th song is so majestic
Balamb Garden haha thanks buddy it feels good to there that again

Track 5: The zephyr song
Track6: final fantasy IX
this is my favorite blank banshee album
Geomagnetic storm is like siren song. Unsettling but u love it for that.
Enigma needs more remixes, I do believe.
lavender club samples rhcp's zephyr song... such an creative piece of work, good job
This album is bag full of surprises lol... i've found a Foo Fighters sample !
This is already 5 years old. What the fuck.

Enigma - Return To Innocence
Thanks !
omgg enigma in the 1st track ayyyyy
ストーンヘンジで大麻喫煙 most interesting vaporwave track from Eco
Enigma was super popular in the early 90's.
There's no way to describe it - it was everywhere and pretentious douche bags loved it.
try translating the name in google translate.
Cannabis smoking at Stonehenge
legit.420/10
i thought geomagnetic storm was the most interesting (and by interesting i mean most different)
0:11 is that Delirium? Sure sounds like a slightly slowed down Delirium track.
+plasticwrapcharlie enigma - sadeness
TheNiggaMary thanks
12:25 what song was used in this part?
where has this albym been all maaaah life???
How can people get away using Enigma without Copyright?
It's great to listen to, but Enigma's songs had so much more potential for remixing. ストーンヘンジで大麻喫煙 and 熱帯雨林サーフ don't really distinguish themselves that much from original work. He put in much more effort in other Atmospheres albums.
15:38 plays when you enter heaven
does anyone know the sample for the first track?
nvm, i think i found it
Enigma - Sadeness (I think)
Sadeness by Enigma
what track is sampled for the second song???
"It's Not Enough" by Starship
新石器時代ノスタルジア (track 9) samples blank banshee's eco zones
+Luís 🌊 listen to the drums at the drop around 14:05. same pattern as eco zones
Nah dude, blank Banshee and eco virtual are the same person
anyone else run into a music video for 新石器時代ノスタルジア (second to last track)?
6:02
💙
7:09 RHCP!!!
Nooooo this album is way too short :(
o crap my mom likes enigma
あなたは全体の文章を翻訳し、それが意味するものを見つけました。 敗者。
Definitely not his best work
edit 11-8-2022: i fucking love this album to pieces and i would kill my 2017 self in a heartbeat
CHEDDAR CHEVRON maybe not the best atmospheres tape he made but you gotta say it's pretty damn good
Guys it goes like this
1. Atmospheres 1
2. Atmospheres 4
3. Atmospheres 2
4. Atmospheres 3
And that’s not to say it’s bad or anything it just doesnt hit as hard as the other 3. Like these albums still saved my life.
Anyone know the sample right at the start?
Sadeness (Part I) and Back to The Rivers of Belief
