Apple Music don’t have the right writers and lyrics so watch out for that. And they are writers that worked on the album he did a lot of song on the album they were just all the writers in general
Michael wrote the song ‘Stranger in Moscow’ when he was there on his Dangerous Tour. The allegations just broke when he was there and he felt so lonely he wrote the song in his hotel room.
Michael was devastated when the allegations hit. He stopped eating and wouldn’t sleep and sadly relied on pain killers but when he appeared in public he always made sure to stay and look strong
I feel like it contributed to his death. Especially being accused again in 2004. I was so glad he went to court and that family was exposed, but it all definitely took its toll on him... 😔
When asked what it was like to be around MJ, Slash replied: "Onstage, his whole professional thing was really where he clicked. When he wasn’t working, or in production or whatever, it was then you could see that he was sort of at the mercy of his own success. All the people he had around him, the tugging, and the yes people, you could tell that he knew 90 percent of them were full of sh*t." " He wanted me to play on 'Dangerous'. We made a date and I went down to the Record Plant in Hollywood and he was there with [actor] Brooke Shields. That was very surreal." He continued: "These were two people that I’d sort of grown up with, in a way. So we hung out for two minutes and they went off to dinner and left me with this song. I did my thing, he really dug it and afterward, he kept asking me if I’d be into doing this or doing that. I’d do some shows here and there and it was fun because he was such a pro, and he was such a f*cking talent from on high." "That was the main thing: he was so amazingly musically fluid. Such a treat to be around."
Most of the songs on History Michael wrote himself. The other names are producers. He definitely wrote TDCAU, Stranger in Moscow, Earth song, Money, childhood by himself.
@@noname-nobody1247 Imagine if he performed it live. I have not seen any performance of the song live. But it would have been amazing if it was ever performed live

28:42 yes it’s true, the dad even drugged his son so he could be easily to manipulate and the father would set false information in his head. The father killed himself in 2009. Michael tried multiple times to make the lawsuit civil, means that he had to go to court and fight this over evidence, but his request was rejected 3 TIMES. Which also proves he is innocent. Why would a guilty man risk going to prison 3 timeS??
The DA in the 93 case went before two grand jury and they refused to bring charges. The law was changed that today you can not bring a civil suit before a criminal case. Evan Chandler wanted the civil case first because all the entire case was about was money..
Exactly the accused just wanted money it's so obvious, but of course there are always gonna be haters that don't want to do the digging and look for the real facts! Respect the (King Of Pop) 😡👊🏾✨️❤👑
Earth Song was written and composed by himself. Not sure which credits your referring too. He produced it with David Foster I believe. Actually tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14 were written by himself.
He was listening on Apple Music, they have a new feature where they show lyrics and the writers, hence why he’s able to read them, but they lazily just put in every writer on the album for every song, so it looked like there were 13 co-writers for every song.
@@Hudson112 Oh right ok that makes sense then, I've never used Apple music so didn't know that. Why did it only have r Kelly for you are not alone though? It's quite bad that they're allowed to bunch the writers together as it's very misleading to people who aren't familiar with an artist's music. I much prefer the old days, I remember buying the history album and reading the credits for each track etc. It was a much more immersive experience. The lyrics weren't printed for every song either I'm History's inlay booklet, so you'd just be focused on listening to everything in more detail. What he was saying seemed cryptic and mysterious also, as you couldn't always understand him as he sang so aggressively and percussively.
@@Hudson112 Yeah I get that, but only MJ wrote They Don't Care About Us, yet they don't list him as sole song writer, but they list R Kelly alone for You Are Not Alone. It's just sloppy.
@@T1000-s4j At first, I was gonna say they had the same writers listed for YANA on Apple Music, but when I checked it, they indeed only had R.Kelly. I agree that it’s sloppy.
There are two music videos for they don't care about us the original the prison version was banned in the u.s in 1996 then he filmed the second one in Brazil the Brazil version was played more on TV after his death then stranger in Moscow was played on TV two times.
Michael LOVED Charlie Chaplin. Since Smile was Michael’s favourite song, at his public memorial in 2009, his brother Jermaine sang it and dedicated to him
There's just this misconception about Michael where he was abused as a child so he abused children when he was older. No. In fact it just made him more kinder, more gentler and more generous and you could see the impact that it had. He donated to multiple charities, he visited children in hospitals, and their faces just lit up when they saw him. He even brought cancer patients to his ranch, he'd take them to the theatre and they could watch magic shows. There's even a room at the top with a window because many cancer patients were weak and had to lie down. He was a beautiful person. It's disgusting that people tear him down, even now when he's not here to defend himself. #MJINNOCENT
HIStory is a great album. Because it’s so aggressive, emotional and...intense...I only have a few of the songs in regular rotation, but Stranger in Moscow is in my top 5 MJ songs of all time. Having a great time going through the albums with you....I know a lot of people were hyped for this one, not sure if you’re going to do Blood on the Dance Floor in between, but I am PUMPED for you to listen to Invincible!! It is criminally underrated!!! ❤️💕 Edit: oops, commented before you said you were doing BOTDF. 😋
Great video, man. I watched the whole hour haha. I really appreciate how you go in-depth for each track. HIStory is quite an overwhelming album to listen to. So much is happening in it, yet thematically it’s pretty focused. It’s probably the MJ album I go back to the least just because of how heavy all the songs are with the lyrical content. Most of the songs either make me angry or sad. Though it is a very solid album from Michael, and I go back to a handful of them quite often. If I were to rank his albums it’d go: 1. Bad 2. Off the Wall 3. Invincible and Thriller (can’t decide between the two) 4. Dangerous 5. HIStory 6. Motown albums (also can’t decide between these four. They aren’t bad, they’re just kinda... there. Lol) All in all I don’t think he ever released a straight up bad album during his life. Alright I’m gonna wrap up this comment or it’ll take you even longer to read this than it took you to film the video lol.
Michael was an incredibly strong person. When you said that you were surprised he didn't do something drastic, I get it. For someone to go through all that, you'd go mad. He always said he had rhinoceros skin lol and I he also had his faith in God which helps anyone who's religious.
HIStory is very special album for me because it`s the reason how I got to know about Michael Jackson. When I was 9 years old (in 2011) my dad decided to buy the HIStory album because we didn`t have any Michael Jackson albums. When he got home I started asking about the album and is this artist still alive. I still remember it when he said that Michael Jackson died about 2 years ago. The same day I lissened to the album and I started with the disc one (compilation of his greatest songs from Off The Wall to Dangerous). the very first song that I heard from Michael Jackson was Billie Jean. For me it wasn`t just music. It was pure magic. It felt like I was in another demension. That day I became a Michael Jackson fan. Now in 2020 I´m 18 years old and Michael Jackson is still my favorite artist. Even after 9 years I still have that very same HIStory album in my room and it`s still playable. Also when I was 13 years old in 7th grade Earth Song was the first Michael Jackson song I performed in school by singing. The last Michael Jackson performance that I did in my school was about a month ago when I danced to Jam (It´s from Dangerous album). If you want to you can check it out on my Instagram acount @arno.valtonen :)
Little Susie was based on a true story about a little girl who was Neglected, abused and murdered. Her family didn’t care for her at all and her grandfather was very abusive to her. You can find the full story on the internet. Michael wrote the song and dedicated the song to Susie.
Michael originally wrote Stranger In Moscow while on the Dangerous tour in Russia. He was in his hotel room by himself and there was millions of fans outside calling his name. He felt isolated because they all knew his name and knew of him but didn’t actually know him. He also originally wrote it as a poem
He was in that hotel room when the allegations came up and locked himself up. Someone said that the person *maybe security* found Michael crying in his closet in the hotel room. Michael wrote it then.
Thats exactly what the line is about. People need to understand the context. Marilyn was the FIRST Hollywood sex symbol & in so, She was put on a pedestal that any flaw a regular human would have for her was treated as the ultimate sin... You gotta remember 1945 aint nowhere near as progressive as 2020.. She was killed by secret service and its still proclaimed as an accidental overdose after she had an affair with JFK & threatened to reveal government secrets, this is WIDELY know.. Jackson uses her here as a reference to Hollywood building you up and profiting on the downfall even more..
Little Susie is a song that Michael wrote in the late 70s. Michael loved classical music and Janet said that there’s an entire cassette tape (maybe be multiple) filled with classical music that Michael wrote which we’ll probably never get to here. Also there’s no evidence that Little Susie is based on a true story btw. It’s a rumour
@@KD-cd2ckWikipedia is a reliable source. NOTHING IN LIFE IS 100% RELIABLE! Wikipedia is 100% genuine. Things in the 70’s were different. We didn’t have the things we have now like journalism and internet access or anything to record news articles etc.
The thing with the song Childhood, and Michael's abuse at the hands of his father... and then his allegations of abuse... what Michael was being accused of (and I mean the specific accusations and charges here,) were sly and manipulative and cajoling. The actions that Joseph took throughout Michael's childhood were violent and cruel and extreme. What Michael's psyche was trying to do in being so helplessly drawn to children, was to try to heal his own broken childhood through being a father figure to those helpless children. His psyche was trying to be both child and parent. Because by showing kindness and love to broken, injured children, he would be able to prevent them from having the same fractured development that he was so unfairly subjected to, whilst also being able to supplant his own experiences of fatherhood as acted out by Joseph with his own kinder, more loving actions. It's pretty much the same thing that Princess Diana was doing also, she was trying to be there for people who felt like no one would hear out their problems when she herself felt that way. The only difference with MJ is that people found that kind of maternally, uncontrollably giving, almost impulsive behavior quite unsettling (at the time) for a man, which one could almost say is a bit sexist. Let me be clear here however when I say that it was Michael's psyche that was doing this (at least at first in his 20's,) I think as his life went on and he grew older and wiser, he came to more consiously understand that that was what was going on, and ultimately a lot of Michael's relationship with his father he was able to make peace with by having his own children. He said he understood him a lot more after that, but even so it's very difficult to fix developmental deficiancies in childhood. A lot of fans lord HIStory over everything else he's ever done, but I agree with you insofar as that the album is extremely important in regards to Michael's life story, but it's not that enjoyable to listen to if you're someone who likes more melodic music. A lot of fans who like HIStory better tend to like more electronica etc, it was very popular in Europe at the time as a lot of the youth in the 90's were listening to the beginnings of the techno movement as they were growing up, so I suppose they had an ear for that.
If you do any research about the allegations you need to be very careful where you're getting your information from. Michael is actually innocent, but was smeared as being guilty, and is still being smeared to this day. Not sure which information you're reading about each song either as some of the information seems a bit off.
15:12 he chose Moscow because he wrote this song in Moscow in 1993 after the fake alligations hit him. He was alone, completely alone and he wrote this song in his hotel room, at night, while it was raining in Moscow. He felt like a stranger in Moscow because no one understood him, everyone was against him.
You are 100% right in that HIStory is not a party album. It’s not designed to make you feel good, but to think. To my mind it’s really a musical autobiography. This is the album to listen to if you want to learn who Michael Jackson was. What he was all about. He bares his soul and gives zero F's who he might anger. It’s very much a theatrical, operatic journey. Starting with a scream of anger and pain, and ending with a tentative smile of hope.
i like this album cause there is a lot of heavy and sad and angry songs but at the end there is "smile" and...it just show the mind set of Michael Jackson in general, he was a very resilient person, very strong and very positive despite everything, and that's the spirit of this album, even tho ur going thru some shit, don't lose hope, "keep the faith" and keep living your life without worrying about people's judgment
A new viewer. I’m enjoying your honest reviews and passion ☺️ Like you, I’ve also been getting into older movies from the 20’s to 50’s. Some brilliant stories!
The music video for Scream is apparently the most expensive music video ever made. The reason why I said “apparently “ is because I’ve heard a few times that some other music video took its place but I don’t know what that album is
As an older fan, in 1993 there was a lot of buzz and negative misinformation. We had to weed out and kind of decide for ourselves if we believed the media, because unlike today media was newspapers, magazines, and television. I think by then we knew who he Really was by his personality being the same on stage and off. You could always feel his love for us off stage and on stage.
It is tragedy that all this false allegations was kill him. After 2005 he never was the same (Even though he won the court and they didn't find something against him...public didn't believe him). These people broke his heart and it was beginning of his sad end. ☹️
Okay so I have 3 comments for you, sorry HIStory is just this in-depth that I have A LOT to say, I promise I won't leave more than 1 comment in the next MJ videos, but this is my 1st comment and it's just about the album: They Don't Care About Us is a song for all minorities who have been wronged by the system. When Michael sings that song, he's not only singing as the black man but he's also singing as the latino man, asian man, gay man, jewish man etc. His source of anger not only comes from being frustrated with the treatment of minorities but it also obviously comes from personal experience: being wronged by the system for the sole reason of being black. When he, a black man, became the most famous and successful person because of Thriller and the purchase of the ATV/Beatles catalog, he started being wronged in the media and became the prime target for extortionists, and was further mistreated by the government when the media started spinning the abuse allegations. The most famous and successful person in the world was a black man and every white person in power was threatened by that. He couldn't even trust friends because most of them would turn on him and try to make a profit by selling stories about him. But yeah They Don't Care About Us really is the perfect song for the Black Lives Matter movement. Stranger In Moscow is about Moscow because that's where Michael was when he wrote it. Everyone had turned on him and he was the loneliest he had ever been. So that song came out of that. He literally felt like a stranger in Moscow. And you saying that you felt like you were walking alone in the streets of Moscow is actually literally what the music video is lol. I'm confused when you said there were 13 co-writers on Earth Song but from what I searched, they all say Michael Jackson solely wrote Earth Song so I'm not sure where that information comes from. I always felt like him adding Come Together on this album was another "f*ck you" to the media because they kept spinning the scenario of how he purchased the Beatles catalog and always implied like he didn't deserve it or like he stole it away from Paul McCartney (when that wasn't how that happened). So him adding Come Together is probably him being like "well they're my songs now, deal with it". Little Susie is Michael's attempt at classical (that's the word you were looking for) because he also loved classical music. I like to think it's a spiritual sequel to Smooth Criminal because of the similar theme involving a little girl. The story of Little Susie really is the most heartbreaking and tragic thing because she was neglected in every way possible. Michael probably wanted to speak about it because with many of the songs on HIStory, he wanted people to open their eyes and see how much horror there is in the world. To show that something like that should never happen again. Also Charlie Chaplin is Michael's favorite actor of all time, because of the way he communicated with the audience without talking, and Michael cosplayed as him numerous times in the 70s, 80s and 90s. And notice that the album starts with a scream and ends with a smile! He could never kill himself because he loved life too much (which he is quoted as saying). Even after going through the darkest thing someone could ever go through, he still could see the positives in life and keep going. That's inspiring. I love this album so much because Michael was unapologetically being himself and expressing his feelings like he had never expressed them before. He rarely ever swore/cursed in real life and his music but he does so on HIStory. For me it's tied for favorite MJ album next to Invincible (which in my opinion has the best production on any of his albums and I'm excited for that reaction too). Also don't have your hopes up for Blood On The Dance Floor, the remixes aren't good LOL, it was part of his contract to release a remix album, but the first 5 songs on that album are amazing and worth reacting to. But yeah other than that, you were pretty spot on as usual. I've said it before but I love how you research as you listen, that's the way to do it! You have the best album reviews I've ever seen!
This is my 2nd comment regarding your commentary on Childhood and You Are Not Alone: I'm not bashing you for making this comment but I needed to tell you: Please don't imply that because Michael had an abusive upbringing that it's possible he became an abuser. There is 0 connection between the 2. One is mental and violent, and then one is sexual. Those are 2 totally different types of abuse. People who experience domestic violence against them as a child will NOT grow up to become sexual abusers. That just doesn't make any sense. It's a myth anyway that most of the abused becomes abusers. It's actually around 33% of the abused that becomes abusers. Michael Jackson was not a sexual abuser. It completely goes against all of his beliefs and you should see that by now through his music. The allegations exist BECAUSE he was the most famous and successful person of all time (and to top it off, he was extremely generous allowing just about anyone, adults and kids alike, into his Neverland ranch which he originally created for himself). He was the biggest target on the planet. Not only being thrown with child abuse lawsuits but plagiarism lawsuits, adult rape lawsuits, paternity lawsuits etc. It's what comes with being wildly famous and successful. Every celebrity gets those lawsuits and Michael Jackson got them the worst because of his immense fame. The child abuse allegations only got so much attention because it's so outlandish and it's the worst thing anyone can be accused of. The most famous person of all time, a black man by the way, being thrown with the worst accusation someone can be accused of, it makes all of the headlines. People tried to make sense of the child abuse allegations by connecting it to certain things in his life when in actuality, none of it connects. Things will only connect if you make them connect, you know? But him being a pedophile just doesn't make sense when you consider so many things like him having a pretty normal sized collection of heterosexual pornography which was found when police raided his home. People also forget he put women on a pedestal, especially black women, in songs and music videos. He was straight. Not to mention if he was a pedophile, how in the world would he raise 3 kids that are so well-mannered today? It just doesn't make sense. But anyways I'm rambling now. He clearly was VERY against pedophilia and abuse and made sure to be the best father one could ever be. I learned all of this just last year because of the Leaving Neverland controversy by the way. I never supported Michael Jackson like I do now. I was very indifferent about the allegations up until last year when I watched Leaving Neverland and then was forced to dig deeper and it's clear the man could never be what he was accused of (and I hope it becomes clear to you eventually too). Leaving Neverland was a calculated attack designed to get 2 men to win billion dollar lawsuits. I recommend "Lies of Leaving Neverland" here on UA-cam which will give you a better sense of why many don't believe it. And yes R Kelly is guilty, you can say it. I saw Surviving R Kelly too (Now THATS a proper docu-series about abuse at the hands of a celebrity). R Kelly and Michael Jackson weren't friends by any means, he was just a writer for numerous artists including Michael Jackson.
He was listening on Apple Music, and they have a new feature where they show lyrics and writers, hence why he’s reading them, but they just lazily put in every writer on the album for every song even if they had nothing to do with it, so that’s why it looked like Earth Song had 13 co-writers.
9mins in. Australian fan. I was 12 years old in ‘93 when the allegations were first made. No, I didn’t believe them, not for a second! The media of course ‘reported on it’ while calling him ‘wacko Jacko’. As a fan I felt just as attacked as people made jokes about it to you if you was a fan. I felt like the people who didn’t ‘know Michael’ didn’t really take notice of him as a person, automatically assumed he was guilty, the people who knew better did not believe it. However, the ones who thought he was guilty ALWAYS made jokes of it - THAT is why I don’t think they actually believed it as it’s hardly a joking matter! It someone really did that the last thing I’d be doing is joking about it. I think people just wanted to crush and humiliate him for any reason, made up or true. He was too high and people didn’t like that. Here in Australia he was NEVER backlisted in his lifetime. HIStory and ALL of its singles got radio play and were in the charts. He only got blacklisted for a time following that Leaving Neverland one sided HIT piece, which if you investigate you will find it falls apart.. Ok, back to your review ☺️
R Kelly is guilty, but at the time he was extremely famous and influential. He wasn't known as he is now. Not sure why he put Come Together on History, he released it on Moonwalker so filmed a video for it 1987 too. The album would've been fine without it.
This is my favouirte album of all time, and Come Together is one of the best covers I've ever heard, but it does not belong on this album. If he really wanted to release it, it should've been in Disc 1 with the compilation.
For us fans it was hard at that time because there were no internet, we had informations only from media, and everyone around us believed that he was guilty, or not everyone but most people did And it was hard to defend him without informations, now when it's internet it's easy for me to defend him, at that time I would say to people "no he is not guilty I can feel it my heart" that was all I could say to defend him, only "good source" of information I had was his music
I believed he was innocent because I couldn’t understand why someone would take money as compensation for their child being sexually abused. It never made any sense to me.
@@gpk1982 whether Michael solely wanted to pay off the family or not, there's no amount of money to justify your child being sexually abused I'm sorry but it just doesn't make sense. The family didn't have to accept it "Chandler family" but they did so that's just a hint of there's more to it then meets the eye, and everyone wants to use the "he paid for their silence" when that doesn't prove anything it's certainly not admission of guilt because there is two sides of every story.
This video makes me think that you should definitely do a discography journey of The Beatles (if you haven't already listened to their 13 albums of course). They are the best band ever and the most successful musical act in History.
I wouldn’t say that he was blacklisted. JANET was blacklisted after the 2004 Super Bowl. Michael’s videos were still played in heavy rotation on networks like MTV, BET, Vh1. His music was still in heavy rotation on the radio, and his singles were still performing somewhat decently. This album performed very well overseas especially in Europe. Michael’s personal life had finally become more interesting than his craft after everything that had happened in 1993.
Pepsi & all sponsors dropped MJ, All movie deals stopped in their tracks.. he was blacklisted from future projects in Movies & advertising. MJ had to largely fund himself for many projects going forward. TDCAU prison version was banned in the US.
@@globalcitizenn The prison version of “They Don’t Care About Us” wasn’t banned because of the ‘93 allegations it was banned because the images he was showing in the video spoke truths that many didn’t want shown. He was still able to have multiple #1 singles afterwards though. But don’t get me wrong he was still in a not great place for in terms opportunities in the industry.
Really, please please if you got time, watch square one and if you got time again, loving neverland. This will really help you to understand the allegations !

Regarding the 1993 sexual abuse allegations, this is what I have to say: they are COMPLETELY false. I'm not saying this because "I love MJ's music" or something like that, I'm saying it because of the proven facts about it. There is even a recorded call from the father (Evan Chandler) of that child (Jordan Chandler) explaining this entire extortion scheme against Michael. I could talk about this all day, because it is a subject that I have researched extensively for the last 2 years, but I prefer to talk about his music for the rest of this comment. If you want to know more about the 1993 accusations, I recommend this documentary that was released a little over a year ago: ua-cam.com/video/ZxNDb2PVcoM/v-deo.html Now, regarding this particular album: I heard out there (I don't remember in which video or documentary) that this is the "most anti-establishment album made by a Pop star", and I completely agree with that phrase. Michael goes against everyone here, not accepting any more bullshit from racism, police brutality, media injustices, greed, the complete demonization of his name, the violation of his human rights, the profound damage we do to our planet. .. This is not a "funny Michael Jackson album", it really is a personal document in the life of an individual who saw, felt and lived what no one else did. There are some songs that are difficult to listen to, they break your heart, they make you want to hit one of these people who so freely humiliated him for the enjoyment of the morbid world. Anyway ... I love that you stay neutral, Jesse, it's what you should do when you're not informed enough about something. And I'm sure many people in your comment section will be happy to share PROVEN information with each other. I love your videos, I love your channel and I hope you follow MJ's case further, because it is really interesting.
Michael Jackson was basically the first and only artist in the "history" of music to ever call out all the injustice and the B.S that was said about him or anyone else, and I fully respect him for that he's been doing that for many years long before this album was ever released.
He was cancelled 😖I was never really a fan of MJ because Punk is my thing 😄I always thought that Thriller going into Alice Cooper territory and having Vincent Price on the track was really cool.
This is my favorite Michael album of all time, with my favorite Michael song of all time "Stranger in Moscow". You should do a discography journey of *NSYNC/Justin Timberlake/JC Chasez. If you start soon, you might get their Christmas album in before Christmas comes.
There’s literally dozens and dozens of discography journeys I still need to go on but you better believe *NSYNC/JT and the Backstreet Boys are on the list 😉😁
I never understood why there were 2 discs. Perhaps his American label were losing confidence in Michael. The Greatest Hits portion has since been reissued on its own. The new material has not. There's always a danger in including a part 1 or volume 1 in an album title as there rarely is a part 2 or volume 2. Think George Michael's Listen Without Prejudice (Volume 1). Michael Jackson had already paid off the family of an alleged victim Jordy Chandler prior to this album's release. Turned out to be something of a poison chalice for all concerned. The stories never went away. When Michael Jackson performed "Earth Song" at the Brit Awards (UK music awards), Jarvis Cocker (lead singer of Britpop band "Pulp") got up on stage and mooned the audience (doing what we call in Australia "chucking a brown eye". I will let your imagination explain that for you). Michael's daughter Paris has recently began a music career of her own.
When he signed his New “Sony” to stay at Epic contract it was issued that he was supposed to do a greatest hits album and a remix album. So they put the greatest hits on the new material bc it’s autobiographical. It also counts as a multiplier. So if he sells 15 million copies bc it’s a double disc the RIAA will multiply it twice (30 million)since it’s a double disc.
Now I'm not gonna talk about the allegations, since there are always hot debates about that topic, and it's not worth bringing that toxicity to this channel. So I want to continue on from my last comment. If you ever listen to The Jackson 5 discography, it's gonna be separated in two discographies, "The Jackson 5" and "The Jacksons". This is due to the band leaving their record label Motown and joining Epic records (I don't know why they left so you're going to have to do your research), however they had to change their name because Motown owns The Jackson 5 catalog. The main difference that came from this change is that the second lead vocalist Jermaine Jackson left the group because he wanted to stay with Motown so you're not gonna hear that much from him in "The Jacksons".
@@Hudson112 Oh really? I thought it was something else, thanks again for the clarification. I also do know that fact thanks to "The Jacksons: An American Dream" TV special.

Why compare the two at all? Because they are both BLACK? What has R.Kelly to do with MJ's case. Do people compare also the cases of White Men?
Michael wrote the song ‘Stranger in Moscow’ when he was there on his Dangerous Tour. The allegations just broke when he was there and he felt so lonely he wrote the song in his hotel room.
I thought he was in the far east
the allegation's broke when he was in Singapore not Moscow. He wrong Stranger in Moscow while feeling lonely during his tour date in Moscow.
Something beautiful about this album is that it starts with a scream and ends with a smile.
I love this too😌
I see what you did there!
Michael gets the last "Smile!"
Tabloid junkie is actually my favourite Michael Jackson song
one of my favourites too!!!! 😍
He was pretty "jacked" when he did the (HIStory) tour, he must of been doing something right.

They Don't Care About Us will grow on you. It was ahead of its time.
When asked what it was like to be around MJ, Slash replied: "Onstage, his whole professional thing was really where he clicked. When he wasn’t working, or in production or whatever, it was then you could see that he was sort of at the mercy of his own success. All the people he had around him, the tugging, and the yes people, you could tell that he knew 90 percent of them were full of sh*t."
" He wanted me to play on 'Dangerous'. We made a date and I went down to the Record Plant in Hollywood and he was there with [actor] Brooke Shields. That was very surreal."
He continued: "These were two people that I’d sort of grown up with, in a way. So we hung out for two minutes and they went off to dinner and left me with this song. I did my thing, he really dug it and afterward, he kept asking me if I’d be into doing this or doing that. I’d do some shows here and there and it was fun because he was such a pro, and he was such a f*cking talent from on high."
"That was the main thing: he was so amazingly musically fluid. Such a treat to be around."
Most of the songs on History Michael wrote himself. The other names are producers. He definitely wrote TDCAU, Stranger in Moscow, Earth song, Money, childhood by himself.
And little Susie and it is know he played the piano on that song

Michael tried multiple times to make the lawsuit civil, means that he had to go to court and fight this over evidence, but his request was rejected 3 TIMES. Which also proves he is innocent. Why would a guilty man risk going to prison 3 timeS??
*criminal. He wanted the criminal case to proceed before the civil case.
The DA in the 93 case went before two grand jury and they refused to bring charges. The law was changed that today you can not bring a civil suit before a criminal case. Evan Chandler wanted the civil case first because all the entire case was about was money..
I didn’t know all that. I always thought the family didn’t want to go to court and just asked to settle the case. (Basically extortion)

HIStory starts with Michael Jackson screaming and ends with a smile. Can't be an accident. It's a masterpiece
There are two music videos for they don't care about us the original the prison version was banned in the u.s in 1996 then he filmed the second one in Brazil the Brazil version was played more on TV after his death then stranger in Moscow was played on TV two times.
Michael LOVED Charlie Chaplin. Since Smile was Michael’s favourite song, at his public memorial in 2009, his brother Jermaine sang it and dedicated to him
Yes :(
There's just this misconception about Michael where he was abused as a child so he abused children when he was older.
Edit: oops, commented before you said you were doing BOTDF. 😋
At this time the media would pay anyone in the world who would say anything bad and negative about Michael
If I were to rank his albums it’d go:
1. Bad
2. Off the Wall
3. Invincible and Thriller (can’t decide between the two)
4. Dangerous
5. HIStory
6. Motown albums (also can’t decide between these four. They aren’t bad, they’re just kinda... there. Lol)
All in all I don’t think he ever released a straight up bad album during his life.

Michael’s cover of Come Together is better than the Beatles version in my opinion. Also Michael owned the rights to the Beatles catalogue
He did that great
and the performance is found at the end of his 1988 Moonwalker movie
The “heroine and Marilyn” Line is about Marilyn Monroe. Maybe that’s who he says is “blonde and bisexual”

It was originally a poem
My favorite album of all time ❤
You are 100% right in that HIStory is not a party album.
HIStory is very personal. The album sounds angry, dark, bleak, scary, haunting and aggressive
i like this album cause there is a lot of heavy and sad and angry songs but at the end there is "smile" and...it just show the mind set of Michael Jackson in general, he was a very resilient person, very strong and very positive despite everything, and that's the spirit of this album, even tho ur going thru some shit, don't lose hope, "keep the faith" and keep living your life without worrying about people's judgment
The "Some men see things as they are" snippet is from Robert Kennedy's speech at Vanderbilt's 1968 Impact Symposium

Michael wrote Stranger In Moscow IN Russia... The lyrics is exactly how he felt in that time
”Stranger in Moscow ” is a masterpiece
Earth song was written during the Bad era
Okay so I have 3 comments for you, sorry HIStory is just this in-depth that I have A LOT to say, I promise I won't leave more than 1 comment in the next MJ videos, but this is my 1st comment and it's just about the album:
They Don't Care About Us is a song for all minorities who have been wronged by the system.
This is my 2nd comment regarding your commentary on Childhood and You Are Not Alone:
I'm not bashing you for making this comment but I needed to tell you: Please don't imply that because Michael had an abusive upbringing that it's possible he became an abuser.
Writing these long comments is fine, but please just format it! You could've easily seperated these by song.

MJ was getting his rapping skills on the track "Money"
For us fans it was hard at that time because there were no internet, we had informations only from media, and everyone around us believed that he was guilty, or not everyone but most people did
And it was hard to defend him without informations, now when it's internet it's easy for me to defend him, at that time I would say to people "no he is not guilty I can feel it my heart" that was all I could say to defend him, only "good source" of information I had was his music
Come together isn’t michaels song lol it was originally by the Beatles , he owned their entire catalog. I prefer michaels version over the Beatles.

BET never blacklisted Janet they wouldn't do that.
@@foryourbenefits9483 Yeah I know. I was just listing some of the radio stations that continued to air Michael’s videos.
During tabloid junkie my boy was vibing
React to Michael Jackson prime time interview 1995
Stranger in Moscow - I read he wrote that in Moscow while on the Dangerous Tour when the allegations had been made…
I enjoy all five original songs from Blood On The Dance Floor but I really don’t like the remixes
I LOOOVE the 2bad remix
I like Scream Remix. It reminds me of Jam which is one of my favourite mj songs.
It might make you feel better to know that R Kelly got sued for stealing You Are Not Alone and he lost
He stole it? I've heard that he wrote it.
@@itsjustnaima just look up “r Kelly you are not alone lawsuit” or something

Regarding the 1993 sexual abuse allegations, this is what I have to say: they are COMPLETELY false. I'm not saying this because "I love MJ's music" or something like that, I'm saying it because of the proven facts about it. There is even a recorded call from the father (Evan Chandler) of that child (Jordan Chandler) explaining this entire extortion scheme against Michael. I could talk about this all day, because it is a subject that I have researched extensively for the last 2 years, but I prefer to talk about his music for the rest of this comment. If you want to know more about the 1993 accusations, I recommend this documentary that was released a little over a year ago: ua-cam.com/video/ZxNDb2PVcoM/v-deo.html
Now, regarding this particular album: I heard out there (I don't remember in which video or documentary) that this is the "most anti-establishment album made by a Pop star", and I completely agree with that phrase.
Jesse, watch a documentary called Esquare One on Amazon Prime, there tell the stories of Michael's false sexual abuse charges, I love you
Its even available on youtube
Invincible next!!
If one knows MJ since in the womb of kathrrine, born nd growing up, u will believe hes innocent
Tabloid Junkie, Scream are like Leave Me Alone which I all love
@@k-specs Hence Blood On The Dancefloor: HIStory In The Mix followed.
Thanks for the Information.
They left because they wanted more creative freedom. At Motown, they didn’t get to write any of their songs.
@@Hudson112 thanks man :)
@@fcsmiles9355 And for more juicy information, Jermaine stayed at Motown because he was married to the CEO of Motown, Berry Gordy’s daughter, Hazel.
@@Hudson112 Oh really? I thought it was something else, thanks again for the clarification. I also do know that fact thanks to "The Jacksons: An American Dream" TV special.

I love the song 2bad type of song you wanna play at loud volume 😊
Some people say that the song Little Susie is a creepy song.
The intro is creepy but the song is sad
After 1993 it all went down hill with him. Mentally and physically. And you can defenitly tell in this album. But that was sadly only the beginning.
I don't smile.
Nirvana covered that song too
I love this album however it’s not my favorite at all
