I was born very close to Bonn/Germany--- now living in Canada---- hearing and listening with my closed eyes with many tears running down my cheeks- it's like listening to Beethoven playing this incredible and maybe the utmost beautiful piano concerto ever written and played all over Mother Earth by many Pianists in the past and our time- with my bedroom window wide open and reaching my deep heart and soul ❤️--- as a very very young kid coming from his home very near mine and over the Rhein-Shore..... This "Angel Pianist" is in my opinion one of tge top 5 there ever lived! RIP 🙏
It's always a great pleasure to hear music played by Nelson Freire. Music becomes MUSIC at once arresting and inspirational, especially when Nelson performs Beethoven. This is a "thing of beauty" then "it is a JOY FOREVER!" Maestro and Orchestra also to be highly commended. BRAVO!!

I'm going back and forth between this performance and the same piece performed by Yunchan Lim with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra last year. I've loved everything that Yunchan has done... a very young man who won the van Cliburn competition as an 18 year old in 2022 but I've been loving getting to know Nelson Freire who was 75 when this performance happened. The videography of this performance is far superior but both have excellent sound. What a joy to have these masterpieces available through UA-cam. I appreciate that both of these performers are so committed to the music that their performances are so spare... nothing ostentatious about anything they do... real masters of their craft. The music of course, is sublime.

Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieses romantischen und perfekt komponierten Konzerts mit klarem doch zugleich warmherzigem Klang des technisch perfekten Soloklaviers sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt echt schön und auch lyrisch. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das perfekt trainierte Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wundervoll!
