I think it has to do with the velocity of the keys all being different as well as the careful implementation of the echo used which is always a pain to get right. I’m happy with how it turned out!
It's not a "SNES soundfont", this is the original sampled instrument from a 3.5" floppy disk for an old Roland S-550 hardware sampler module from the late 80s! Nintendo just happened to use this sound and compressed it and put it into some SNES games. But yes, with a tiny bit of effects processing, many of these old sounds hold up quite well.
I’m thinking of doing what I saw someone do, they made an athletic remix of it with the Yoshi bongos. Definitely want to try that as well as restore it.
You ought to remake Mario World's death jingle using this particular honky tonk piano with wood blocks to start it off with. XD But you don't have to really, don't do it because I told you to. lol
Listen at 1.75x and it's the same energy as the athletic rag
This is too funny
Thus, THIS theme gave birth to the athletic theme we all know and love.
I wonder what will it sound with Yoshi Bongos?
Good question. Who knows when we'll find out?
This sounds really good, it feels like someone is actually playing a real piano

This is great. I'd love to hear more Joplin rags in the SMW style.
Alrighties!
If you go to The Brickster channel, you'll find an upload called "Ragtime on the S-550" which contains some interpretation of The Entertainer ;)
I never thought I would need this. This is going to my favorites.
Glad to hear! Thanks for the listen!
The sample feels like it was made just for this song
For reals!
Golly, with the way you modified the piano sound of the SNES’s soundfont, the sound of it still holds up quite well for today!

And to my favorites this goes along with a lot of your other stuff I’ve binged recently! Would love to hear The Entertainer!
Noted!
This reminds of something that I just can't, like there was some Mario Fan Game or hack with music that sounded so similar to this, it's uncanny

@@LadiesMan217 that sounds like it'd be pretty fun to hear
I found out why I remember this being related to Mario.

@@LadiesMan217 If you can look to your left it's filled with drinking bars, sandy loops, and it's near an oil industry.
Wow what a great song.
Arguably a classic!
So catchy
Indeed! It was stuck in my head for long time!
wake up babe new athletic theme just dropped
well new in a sense
Lol, wait until you see it actually remixes for smw on actual gameplay
What's a fella gotta do 'round here to get some apple juice?
FR!!!
This is making me wonder how Galloping Gertie would sound with this Honky Tonk piano...
Hmmmm
That old early 1920s dinosaur cartoon? This would be an excellent background track to it, I agree.
@@psychotheunsane4542 I shall take a look at it then
Red Dead Redemption SNES
Reminds me of Tom Brier!
This song always reminds me of Earthworm Jim.
Is it in one of the games? I know it takes some classic music like one of Beethoven’s songs on the piano.
The first game's secret level has something that at least sounds suspiciously similar, but I don't think it's the exact same song.

That would be a lot like the Brickster restore I think.
@@LadiesMan217 Oh my goodness, thank you so much! XD
