Glad you made the most of it.... but that truck tent comes with a rain fly, making the tarps totally unneeded. That's good news, less work (lots?) next time.
Yes the rain fly totally helped👌But the tent actually didn't sit in our truck bed properly because we had a tonneau cover, the tarps were a precaution so we didn't wake up in a big puddle! BC rain is no joke😳
@@JakeandTattina ahhh, well, sorry you had to do the extra work. It looks like it was a big pain in the butt. I hope it wasn't. sure looks like you guys stayed dry though. that's awesome!
I know this is a 2yr old video as I write this.. You definitely took precautions with the propane heater, but a simple tip from my time in Boy Scouts (+30yrs ago now). Put a space blanket between your mattress and bedding. Either the tarp style with a colored side and aluminum foil looking on the other, or just a full on foil looking blanket. It will reflect some of your own body heat back up to you. Definitely worked in the winter in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Also, Mountain House camping meals have been around for decades, they’ve got it figured out, just add hot water, and most flavors are good. Don’t be turned off if you see some that are vegetarian, they’re usually just pasta based without a meat sauce.
Got one too, its a great tent. You guys are smart using foam, I'm done with anything that requires air. Sleeping on the steel of your truck box sucks when your 300 dollar air mattress decides to deflate while your sleeping....
@@JakeandTattina We have the exact same tent & F-150 short bed. Rather than leaky air mattress I bought two Coleman Ridgeline Camping Cots@ WalMart for about $90 ea. They fit in the bed of the truck with about 6in between them. They are tall enough that we can store stuff under them with space left over for our Black Lab to sleep. Very comfortable for a cot. Just a suggestion.
It’s been a year since your video. I’m just wondering would you still recommend the truck tent? I will check out yours other vids, but have you used it again?
Yes we've used it a couple other times and we still love it!! It's so compact and easy to set up, we're excited to take it truck camping again this season :)
You mentioned you get your camper in two weeks, does that mean you'll finally be coming south into the U.S.? I work at the Pacific Highway Crossing and now that the border is "open" we'd love to see you come down for a visit! Keep up the great work guys!
Awe thanks Aaron, and YES we're planning on coming to the US!! We haven't been able to explore the beautiful campsites over there yet so if you have any suggestions, let us know 😊 we're hoping to do some weekend/week camping in the Washington area, then at some point hit Oregon and our dream of going down the California coast 😍 we'll have to go through the Pacific Highway Crossing for sure 😊
@@JakeandTattina Where do I begin? SOOO many places to see/camp. I'd say definitely do the Olympic National Park in WA. Then Oregon coast you have to go to the Tillamook Cheese factory (a definite MUST), then see Rockaway Beach and Cannon Beach and Newport (A hidden gem is a place called Flamingo Jim's in Rockaway Beach, they have great/random souvenirs). Astoria, Oregon is also beautiful, that's where they filmed The Goonies (check out the Astoria Column). And so many more... Hope to see you there!
@@aaronlowe99 OMG THANK YOU! All of these sound so amazing (is it bad that we might be most excited about the cheese factory...🤣) we are definitely going to check these places out, thanks so much for the suggestions and giving us a good place to start our planning 🙏❤️

⛺So glad we never bought one of these tents😀Where the dogs well rested sleeping in the truck🦮🐕🛻Those heaters look very dangerous🔥A small propane generator set far away a electric thermostatic controlled heater much safer🔥🧯👩🚒Or sleep in truck🤩🛻There is a lot of things we can do,but should we?Enjoyed watching your adventure, please be safe out thereps bears can climb.🐻🐻🐻
Haha it was definitely an interesting experience! The dogs were super comfy, they always stretch out and take up most of our sleeping space 😂🐕 we were very careful with the buddy heater, but honestly it made the tent so hot so quickly that we might ditch it next time 🥵 thanks for watching 🥰
Sometimes all you really need is a night away from everyone. Helps reset the mind . Great video
We couldn't agree more, it helps when there's no reception. Thank you 🥰

Chili in the woods with no toilet. Lol
Lol we didn't think of that beforehand...luckily it didn't cause us any problems!
@@JakeandTattina thankfully! Lol
Fun video! Tattina, so beautiful!
Aweome video editing, you guys deserve more subs.
The rain on that tarp would have driven me crazy. That's why tents aren't made like tarps, lol.
Haha fair enough! We actually don't mind the sound of it, some background noise helps Jake sleep 😂
Great video, thanks for sharing!!!
Another great video! I love the rain, I think I would of enjoyed tent camping on that adventure.
Thanks for watching! Hahaha and here we are complaining about the rain 😅 at times it was really peaceful, that's for sure 😊🌧
Something you might think about that are very handy and I do have one 12 volt electric blanket.
Yes such a great idea! Tattina loves her heated blankets at home, wemight just get a smaller one for the road

Awesome video !! Where did you get the mattress? Do you have a link? That would be great ✅
We have the same truck tent. We love it. We have a f-150 also. Black Limited. We are going again up the NC mountains soon.
Enjoy the mountains!
That was a great video... You have earned my subscription looking forward to what's next.. Keep up the great work
Thanks so much, that means a lot to us 🙂
It would be nice to have thermostat type heat on trips like that, maybe an electric 750 watt, and a bigger solar gen, or a small gas gennie
Ya that would be really nice!
Awesome video guys! Such a unique experience. The solitude must have been great. Keep rocking!👍😊
Too bad the weather wasn't better
Thanks so much you guys! Being alone in the woods was really peaceful 😇 we're hoping the weather is better next time 🤞🏻

We brought them in the truck with us, they were comfy AND we got extra heat from them 🤣 win win
what is your truck bed length?
