The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. Watching this, I feel like Tiafoe is the better player but Shelton had so much more energy and stamina in him. Kudos to both for making it so far in the US Open!
I was rooting for Francis but he wasn’t the better player on the day. Hopefully he goes back to the drawing board and figures it out.
Tiafoe is more experienced prof player, but I think people miss the fact Ben’s college team match play has given him broader range of playing styles… also having a former prof tennis player as coach and dad has given them a great short hand during Ben’s matches. This was a very humid day and Ben plays in Florida also VA / DC where Tiafoe grew up is very humid too. For me Tiafoe is getting to celebrity conscious and I wonder if he is getting his rest when so many celebs come to his matches. Ben is a tough adversary
tiafore is not a better player, he is a more experienced player on the tour. It was very muggy in NYC and I think Ben growing up in Florida is used to playing in
hot muggy weather. I think For is out of DC, ehich is hot and Muggy too. Foe has gotten do much better, however he just changed coaches. I think he and other Laver team membes saw the versatility of Ben his first year on tour. Ben brilliant in doubles and singles. Ben’s dad is an excellent coach… we have a fantastic group of young US tennis players!

Yes Ben, you can celebrate how you want, but why such an arrogant and disrespectful way? Screams of “come on”which seem directed towards opponent are also so annoying in that screechy voice. Then Djokovic did the celebration back to the fans the very next match, and Ben didn’t like it. But like Ben says - can’t you celebrate however you want?
