can I use 625w battery in trek fs 4 that originally came with 500w battery?

Just bought a power fly 7 people who are talking about damage to the motor don’t understand voltage and amp draw I feel. If I put my bike in the highest gear, the motor is seriously shut down almost immediately because I’ve hit the 19 mph mark. If your in the correct gear this shouldn’t over draw the motor in my opinion

If I only have the smartphone adapter, as opposed to Purion or Nyon for the Bocsh motorw ill this work ?
The advanced chip is compatible with the smartphone hub the standard chip that does not use the app does not work.

what are the differences between 2 chips?
The standard chip unlocks to 50km/H. The Advanced unlocks to 75km/h and pairs with the mobile app allowing additional tuning of the motor assistance.

when i stop at traffic lights or for a drink can i interupt the shut down timer ? will evidence of this be saved? I want your chip but terrified of 504 bricking my bike.
Hi Mate, Yes it's fine to interrupt at the traffic lights or to have a drink. It is important the countdown is allowed to complete at the end of the ride before turning off the bike
What i do is always leave my bike on it shut down on it own

This chip works on the Bosch gen 4 as long as you allow the compensation countdown to complete at the end of each ride

What can I do if a "504" error occurs by mistake after tuning using a chip?
The error does not come up immediately if you fail to allow the countdown to happen, It will come up if you consistently don't let the bike countdown. You can remove the battery or ride the bike unassisted for around 60minutes to clear a 504 error, You can only clear the error two times before you are required to see a dealer to get the error cleared.

@@EpiceBikes Thank you for letting me know, and that justifies the point of the countdown. The 504 error has me really concerned but it is a rarity with speedbox 3.0 I heard.
@@nassiratti8542 Yes, and speedbox gives you better support. I went with those guys because these guys won't even return emails when you are looking to purchase it !! Imagine what would happen if you bought it and needed tech support. Also, speedbox 3 COMPLETELY removes the speed limit with it's base model not this chip their base model that is the much more expensive than the speedbox only unlocks to 50kph (certainly would not buy it for USA 31mph (our limit on class 3 bikes is already 28 mph). Also, speedbox has been doing this much longer so it is probably better code, and again ; much better support it seems.
So just how fast has anybody got it up to with this chip on a flat road?

Does your chip reduce the battery life /performance ? Eg will it provide the same number of km ?
After unlocking your battery may drain faster when at higher speeds but you also travel more kilometres in less time so the range works out quite similar.
What benefits doesn’t this have over the speed box for the extra money?
The benefit's of this chip are the Bluetooth communication that allows use of the mobile app to perform custom tuning of the bike as well as some other functions such as an immobiliser. ua-cam.com/video/t2Wj5aLmOr8/v-deo.html

@@hil7160 If activated the bike will no longer provide any assistance until it is either deactivated or the bike reset by a bosch dealer.

yes its the same motor on different bikes ...
Actually is not not the same motor but same firmware. For instance the Bosch Performance CX motor is quieter than the Performance Speed so most likely different material used for the gears.
I would think that if you do this to your new Trek ebike Powerfly and it damages the motor you are screwed. How fast would the battery be depleted at such a high speed? I bet pretty quickly. Looks like a lot of fun.
It does not cause any additional power through the motor so battery life remains very similar. You would consume more battery if you usually spend a lot of time pedalling without assistance above the cut out as you would no longer have a cut out a and have assistance the whole length of the ride.

Harmless if you don't blast around on it all the time like that but use it in emergency situations to get thru traffic. If you are using it to replace a motorcycle you are all wrong. It is another great tool for getting exercise !!!
Would this effect the warranty?
Provided your remove the chip and there is no evidence remaining that it was installed then it does not effect the warranty
It will remove the warranty from Bosch, even if you remove it, the bosch software analyze everything so when plugged at any distributor they can acess the data.
If you want to try any ships it’s better to do so after the warranty expires
i doubt very much that a 250 watt motor can reach speeds of 75 kph .
my cx motor is "tuned " and i have to pedal like i'm sprinting in the Tour de France just to reach 40 or 45 . 75 ? i dont think so .
The speed limit is unlocked up to 75km/h it does not mean you can pedal this fast unless you change your gearing and ride down a slope
@@EpiceBikes Well , the title is misleading as it does imply that one will be able to ride that fast under all conditions .
Riding an ebike down a steep hill has zero to do with the motor after the 25 kph cut off . It's all body weight and the steepness of the slope that determines speed .
Aside from that how did you come up with 75 kph as the limit in assist from the motor ? No 250 watt motor can produce that much assist .
The 75km/h limit is so that you will never have to face a situation where the bike limits how fast you can go. Yes it's unlikely you would ever reach 75 speeds of 50-60 are possible depending on the bike and gearing setup and strength of the rider.
Actually it is possible with the correct gearing and a strong enough rider. Big front chainring.
I've pulled 65kph downhill on my aerobike, no assist. I got 59 on my Trek ebike with the same hill, but the motor cuts out at 45kph (US class 3).
Toss me an extra 250 or 500w and 75 should be easy. I would like a bigger cog though.
More than 40 kmh max is total useless... U have pedallingbloke an idiot for better speed... 35 to 40 kmh is the best way
