@Duky do you not recommend using hard cubes to tier up to unique anymore? i saw this from your older video. should we use bright cubes starting from the get go until we hit legendary? is this bc lucking into meso/drop % by luck off sets the cost of starting with bright cubes? thanks for the videos @Duky, they've been really helpful for a brand new player
I really hate to say this but I agree even while watching a bunch of these videos I'm at a loss on what is being said. Maybe if they were physically shown as such showing the upgrading and rolls and such
Literally😂 might as well be speaking Spanish. I was looking for how to process from 40-100/200. Seems like there ain’t shit to do and these giys on UA-cam don’t help
@@jjstone-centralfloridareal9493 because the video isn't for where you're currently at in the game. it's for people looking to upgrade their gear for the mid-game
Couple of points to add: 1. Always use Bright (Pink) Cubes to roll for meso/drop lines on your gear, especially when going for Hybrids or Double Drop. Those cubes offer a higher chance of hitting those lines, and it is worth the higher cost per cube (even when going for 1L gear since you can always luck into the double-lines). 2. Never go for hybrid (and ESPECIALLY double drop) on a Monster Park Greed Pendant. 20% equipment drop rate has essentially no effect while mobbing in Grandis, and the pendant is terrible for future-proofing as it essentially is a useless piece of gear damage-wise. You can still use the pendant to cap drop rate in boss loot rooms as meso rate has no effect on boss rewards.
Question from a noobie, so after I rolled my 5 mesos and 4 drop, do I use the Bright cubes on these to try and get them for Hybrids and Double Drop(Same equips)? Or do I roll these on a new set of items?
I would personally say yes, until you can net yourself a surplus of accessories after completing it for your bossing cube rolled ones via SF or just hitting huge lines
I think it’s really dependent on your character, but later on when you’re lvl 280 and above, it is quite heavily necessary to have a good number of 22 star accessory items in order to one shot mobs beyond. If you choose to keep the event rings, then I’d say other parts of your gear would either need to be all 22* or super beefed up in the flame and pot devision.
They made training a lot easier these days when they lowered the mob HP, when you're 280+ the rest of your damage gear will mostly be 22 and that'll give you enough damage to one shot for sure

@Illianora Maplestory reddit is bad and damaging for new players. For example just checked the reddit and there is no less than 3 polls from new players to pick mains. This advice from the og video made me actually stick to the game in October. Now libbing in August and working on my 2nd main, immediately went back to doing the same thing. Only thing I'm doing different is doing Commerci since those equips can get more stars for Shang and beyond.
Hey, I have been playing this game since i was in middle school. THOUSANDS of hours with a lot of off and on and restarting, but I never really understood the systems or how to optimize my build. A video like this is basically gold, because there are cryptic dark souls quests that are more straight forward and transparent than progressing in mushroom game as a newb/idiot.
You said "as we all know, SF is a huge way of getting damage" but low key I don't think beginners actually know how good Starforcing is. You should make a video about how much better SF is compared to cubing or flames, but it might be long.
The problem with that is, it is infinitely more expensive and out of reach for a new player to star force to any optimal level compared to throwing a few cubes here and there
Thanks for the guide, I started making drop gear right after seeing this and I started progressing a ton faster already, passing a couple friends that haven't made any
I'm kinda a nostalgic player. I always play maplestory in every 3-4 months, level a character to 200-210, and I tell myself that this time I'll learn the new things about the game and will try to gear up properly. but everytime I find myself struggling to learn all the new things, I feel that the more I try the more I get lost lol.. but I'll try again in this next hyper burning event :)

The reason I ask is because Item Drop rate increase makes sense to me for making mesos from farming (specific rare items etc), but Meso drop rate seems like it doesn't make sense unless you pick up literally everything during training. Am I missing something about where Meso Drop Rate mainly comes in? Thanks
Solo ctene based on how much %dmg/boss, combat power and critDmg. Is VERY class dependent. And even then it’s very dependent on the individual. A good example I can make is that my DW was about 75m combat power and could clear hdark in about 9 minutes. A class like say duel blade, shadower or really any other class with a star able secondary is going to be a bit weaker at 75m combat power than other classes at 75m. Another example is Kanna vs NW in solo. One class is much stronger in solo than the other. I think the best way to gauge how close you are is if you can do 30% in a full 6m rotation in the boss. This equates to about a 20m run. Which is very doable and ends up being a hands check for you.
love to see a quick video honestly on how to do this lol you say all of this stuff and im so lost how to even get the gear and to make those lines and do all the things u are saying here
Hi Duky, thank you for the video this was perfect timing for me! I have been playing seasonally/casually for a long time and I have never made drop gear at all. I am currently 12mil CP and have solo'd up to normal slime, so I'm making 1.3~bil a week from bossing. Anyways, I have 8.5bil saved up so I think it's time to get some drop gear going for sure. Do you think I should wait for the Go West patch because of the change to being able to get triple line Item Drop Rate rolls after that patch?
If you grind alot make it as soon as possible. (The Triple line is not something you will see alot)If you dont grind alot wait for shining starforce(big event) and use youre mesos to get more stars on gear you wear during grinding and bossing.(CRA gear) after that save for the meso& drop gear.
@@Duky I made my drop gear a few days ago with the 8.5bil I had. Most of the gear I used was either epic or no pot to start with, but I ended up with 60% drop and 100% meso and 2 of my old event rings even hit hybrid lines, so I'm pretty happy to have a set started and a few more pieces to chase some more drop pots on. It has made training way more fun because now it feels like training actually contributes to my progression instead of just saving up my weekly boss mesos. My next goal is to grind to 260 this weekend and hit 6th job for the first time. =D
Thats great content. I just wish shad main grinding skill had a 6th job node.. we cant grind with assassinate, which makes you lack of damage a bit 260 +
30 billion mesos is obviously quite the grind to get to but at least I can understand how to go about it. Potential scrolls and cubes on the other hand I have no clue how I should be getting.
Scrolls from legion coin shop or from the vendor that may spawn after killing a boss like root abyss. For cubes, if you're on Reboot/Heroic, buy the cubes from the shop with your mesos
You don't mention the sheer amount of time and meso you need for drop gear. My main has all 9 accessories with ONE line of item drop. Getting double line is so miniscule for double drop I saw it on ONE of my mules.
When you're talking about getting 17 stars on your equips, are these equips supposed to be already cubed to legendary as well? Or does that come later after all the drop gear and starforcing is done
What if I'm in the process of making meso/drop gear but I can't one shot (or even two shot) mobs? should I stop training altogether and start making legion and/or trying to get more dmg with pots and stuff? what's the best path in that scenario? before drop gear I should get everything to 6% epic? I know you said getting drop gear is "the first" thing to do, but I'm not very experienced and I think you skipped some important steps
you'll get the damage you need just from getting more arcane force / sacred force, or leveling up more. Legion and links can be huge too if you dont have them, so its okay to pause for a bit and build that up. Even two shotting can make really good rates tho
Been returning to maple but on heroic rather than my old scania characters- Is it bad that, from fresh, I'm looking for more drop rate than meso on heroic? Because 100% extra meso seems pretty minor when you already have 500 from server buff. Regular server I did have both meso and drop rate, but idk
would you still recommend meso gear for players that just do daily quests/bosses and not so much grinding? understand that drop gear is still beneficial for bosses but meso gear would be less valuable in this case?
Hey! First of all thank you for the great video, I just got to the furthest point I’ve ever been at in maple (solo CRA) my question is how will I be able to defeat the next bosses as a solo player if I don’t go for star force and main stat on my gear? I mean bosses are also some form of progression, should I prioritize drop gear over trying to get absolab gear?
Im new player rn i have around 2k legion, is better for me to focus still in legion or focus in the main character and the meso/drop gear? Or just try to 50/50? Thx for the video❤
Depends ur mains level and how much u value legion. I started fresh month ago from 0. Took my main 235, then started to full focus legion and just daily/weekly gaming on main. Now month later im 245 on main and i have 5,9k legion. But for me i value legion alot and i try push it 8,4k as soon as possible. Also for me there is the factor that im waiting hyper burn + i anyway need the Arcane Force to start the grind😌 hopefully this helps on ur question.
@@jagertv1137 wow then im doing something bad, i have 1 month played main in 225 legion 2k. And you in 1 month main 235 and legion 5.9k. Tell me your secrets. As i say im new in the game… in trying to use all events and grind daily till 140-200.
@@SergioSanchez-cs5yd alot of hours😂 0-63 theme dungeons > 2x 3x coupons to 141, repeat. bonks if possible. Around 2,5h char. Even easier in dreamer since u can bonk from 131 already. Pretty straightforward and exhausting but 34/42 done and those 7 i use just the 1-100 thingy we get.
How should i go about drop gear if im not even oneshotting the mobs on my lvl with my current stat% gear? :o im a 245 shade (no abso gear except weapon from event) if that helps
you mentioned the amount of meso's u will need to roll these drop gear items. you touched on cube sales. can you make a guide that does NOT use a ptw with cubes. how can i get these items rolls without spending my cash that i dont spend on cubes. other than using event cubes. thats the only way i been able to get drop or meso gear.
Duky never shuts the hell up so here it is: 1) Meso Drop rate on accessories 100% (20% per line) and Item Drop rate on accessories 80% (20% per line) (Best to get these lines on event rings as they are strong enough to use all the way through the late game) 2) Star forcing your gear to 16 stars/17 stars. At 15 stars and below you only gain +2-3 all stat bonus, but at 16+ you start gaining attack power. It becomes expensive quick so it's better to do 16 stars on multiple pieces of gear rather than 20 stars on one. Also the item has a destruction chance on failed upgrades and can lose stars until you hit the next interval of 5 (15/20/25 etc). 3) Complete your daily/weekly bosses even if you're not actively playing the game, not only for better gear but for the mesos you get from selling power crystals to the collector in Henesys. 4) Look up your class and the best way to build your character (Skill development). This comes later on in the game, but there are "Class Discords" that will teach you basically everything you need to know about your class and make it extremely easy. 5) Legion - This is the thing that is the most time consuming and the reward is minimal compared to everything else. Ignore the "Legion Elitists" and just play the game. 6) Have fun! 7) F*** you Duky. 15 minutes of yapping about item drop rate. Your guide sucks.
Man I don’t even know where to start. I know you trying to impress people but I can’t see how this is exponential growth. Your video is telling new players to go in a hard way which is grinding grinding and grinding. And make mule AFTER you have a lot of nodes that’s a no no. You only need 10-20 nodes to make a Czak and Ncygnus character at lv200 to maximize your meso gain, it’s not hard to make multiple lv200 characters with all the growth potions we get from the event. How much meso can a new player grind per hour? How much meso it takes to cube your accessory to legendary then roll a meso or drop line? 1-2B per item? BTW you CANT roll 3 line drop or meso on a single item until upcoming patch New players, make some new characters to lv200 farm easiest weekly boss instead of grinding endlessly.
He keep mentioning about one shot mob but he never mentioned that you will be lack of Arcane Force (can use hyper point to make it up) and Sacred Force(daily and super rare drop only) I can not one shot mobs with my damage gear at lv260 Btw you can’t loot 180 boss crystals using a single character. 13daily boss x 7 days +handful weekly boss = half of the total boss crystal you can sell and those are the big and easy meso. With recent exp nerf your grinding will be less efficient and better start horizontal progression asap instead of focus on single character. Daily story + multiple lv200 weak mules is the way to go. Stick to a single character out of 50+classes grinding until burn out or try different classes is your choice Happy Mapling ❤
Im just wondering will u burn out faster when u focus on 5 main and 10 submains or when u focus one main and keep the rest as bossing mules until ur main is done node wise. Also the grinding part u mentioned, this game has been for me grind simulator for idk 16 years? Yeah lot has changed during the road but u do need to grind ALOT to actually get the amount of mesos u need to perfect ur gear. 30 bil is just a throw away money compared what u will spend on rest of ur gear. But we all have our takes and we all play the game we find to settle for us, i dont think there is right ways or wrong ways on that case. Dukys pov for me atleast sounds solid, since u maximize gains during u train. If i wouldnt train then the drop/meso gear wouldnt be important.

If you grind alot make it as soon as possible. (The Triple line is not something you will see alot)If you dont grind alot wait for shining starforce(big event) and use youre mesos to get more stars on gear you wear during grinding and bossing.(CRA gear) after that save for the meso& drop gear.
Yeah it’s worth waiting
@@Duky I made my drop gear a few days ago with the 8.5bil I had. Most of the gear I used was either epic or no pot to start with, but I ended up with 60% drop and 100% meso and 2 of my old event rings even hit hybrid lines, so I'm pretty happy to have a set started and a few more pieces to chase some more drop pots on. It has made training way more fun because now it feels like training actually contributes to my progression instead of just saving up my weekly boss mesos. My next goal is to grind to 260 this weekend and hit 6th job for the first time. =D
Kinda late, but where would players get extra SF-able rings if we can’t clear slime yet? It’s been a struggle to find for me
It takes a while to get 4 sf rings. Dw if you can’t get it early or anything
ty for the tip, made a lv.200 hayato for legion block
Or does that come later after all the drop gear and starforcing is done
cube to legendary later
Even two shotting can make really good rates tho
ive had max drop gear and large fam item drop for 4 months now, still not 1 pitched drop…😔
Duky, great video! Been enjoying the content. How will the potential addition of 3 line drop pot change the game?
itll just make 200 drop easier to get for ultra luckerdogs
Been returning to maple but on heroic rather than my old scania characters-
Is it bad that, from fresh, I'm looking for more drop rate than meso on heroic? Because 100% extra meso seems pretty minor when you already have 500 from server buff. Regular server I did have both meso and drop rate, but idk
you need the meso gear first, its very diff from reg
Quick question, why not use the greed pendant for more drop % or is doing that not good?
it has bad stats. The drop gear on greed pendant is only for equip tab items, not fragments or nodes
Just would like to ask, which job better to have these meso n drop gear? Some job like mobbing is pity awful..
anything you like will work. Every class can mob well if you learn it
I never knew this 😂 going to make my drop gear when I get home
Legit question: Greed pendant counts to the 200% drop cap?
The 20 drop from greed pendant is only on equip tab items, it’s not the same as potential line drop
@Duky Oh, now i get it. I probably should pay more attention to the video lol. So i think greed pendant going to be my first farming gear
would you still recommend meso gear for players that just do daily quests/bosses and not so much grinding? understand that drop gear is still beneficial for bosses but meso gear would be less valuable in this case?
yes 100%
@@Dukywhy? I literally kill 3k mobs per day why would I make meso gear?
Thank you for the content. Do you have a guide on familiars?
6:33 I know for a fact you though about me when you mentioned phantom
Do you use the Battoujutsu Advance passive fully stacked? The discord recommends against it so I wasn’t sure to use it or not
i wouldnt worry about that
Yes, you gain damage through other sources than just stars and pots
ty goat 🐐🙏🍁
Hey I'm a noob, I was wondering what you're going after with having item drop rate? Which items drop more with that stat?
meso bags, frags, nodestones, droplets, fams, and boss drops
best class to do this on? the meso and drop rate gear
your main
should I get drop gear on my lvl 260 burn if I already have a 260 main?
If you get it past 260 it’s worth it
thank you sensei!
should using drop gear be only for bossing or also grinding in general even if you are not digging for familiars?
You use it for training and opening boxes for bosses
Also why not make a drop gear on tradable item with all job class so you can trade it to this char
A bit of topic b but still. In another video i saw that you had like 9999 Ripe Slurpy Fruit, how on earth did you get so many??
i definitely did not have 9999 ripe slurpy fruit
@@Duky seriously? Man, i must have seen it wrong then, my apologies.
Is mesos obtained + affect the boss core to sell to collector?
No
Im new player rn i have around 2k legion, is better for me to focus still in legion or focus in the main character and the meso/drop gear?
I’d make a main by now yea
I've been on 420% drop for half a year and no PB drop yet.not capping. It's true
only half a year though. consider yourself lucky that you hit large drop fam
What about the greed pendant? How does that work?
20 extra drop on items that go in equips tab. Not frags or nodes for example
@@Duky aw... So symbols? Is it worth it or just go with one of the other options?
Is pendant of the spirit worth making drop/meso gear around?
Yeah long term
Do you think this is possible on reg server? I feel like getting legendary pot is going to take longer without putting in money
Not sure for reg, I think people still get training gear there
gotta ask what if i dont ever train. by example i just do daylies for exp and daylies is it worth to get drop rate and mesos drop ?
its still worth getting yea, even just for killing bosses
@@Duky I'm guessing it allows to get transfer gear so that you dont blow up your good equips right ? anyway thank you very much for the quick answer
How should i go about drop gear if im not even oneshotting the mobs on my lvl with my current stat% gear? :o im a 245 shade (no abso gear except weapon from event) if that helps
i have the legacy spider familiar, is that still good or is there better stuff now ?
There’s better stuff now yeah
Are greed pendant in monster park worth makeing 2 line drop 20% or 2 line meso or hybrid
nah never cuz greed pendant stats are so shit
@@Duky haha ok thanks bro
does this also work for newbies with low links and legion ? i see this working if u can compensate for early game dmg. thank you.
ur always gonna need links and legion, unavoidable tbh. But its still important to get the training gear
For a new reboot player do I roll away a single drop line on my accessort over meso?
5 meso lines first, then the drop lines
so how many cubes should i buy at a time?
i always go 10 pack at a time cuz im cheap, but its slower
What is a good way to obtain cubes?
Meso
But where
So is this for all kinds or servers?
If ur from msea, the fastest way is to start botting
Ty shapaz is quivering rn
you mentioned the amount of meso's u will need to roll these drop gear items. you touched on cube sales. can you make a guide that does NOT use a ptw with cubes. how can i get these items rolls without spending my cash that i dont spend on cubes. other than using event cubes. thats the only way i been able to get drop or meso gear.
what enemies per level drop the most gold for farming
whatever is within ur level range is fine
WSE first or meso & drop gear first?
Meso drop gear
@@Duky okay! Thx boss 🫡
I got 2 double drop rolls back to back with 37 bright cubes . So free 😂 200 drop with less than 4 bil spent
What about the belt?
it cant roll meso or drop
when will we get fams in cernium?
july 17
@@Duky sick
Need a starforce guide 🙏
Is this the same for interactive?
Is this applicable to mobile version?
This only applies to reboot only ?
Mostly heroic
Is this also for reg server? :o
i think reg benefits from drop and meso gear too yea
@@Duky Hokay, need to get some more drop then! :3
explain how my 0 drop geared mule got 2 pap marks in a row HMMMMMMMMMMM
you caught me
Bro you should change your last name to drop gear :P
Drafty Corridor.
Faster pick rate with a vac pet too
I can't even 1 hit in cerinium yet lol
dont worry about not 1 hitting, you are still getting better XP rates PLUS the erda
Duky never shuts the hell up so here it is:
1) Meso Drop rate on accessories 100% (20% per line) and Item Drop rate on accessories 80% (20% per line) (Best to get these lines on event rings as they are strong enough to use all the way through the late game)
2) Star forcing your gear to 16 stars/17 stars.
Your guide sucks.
i aint readin all that
fastest way to progress is to just hit duh
The fastest way to lose your hairline in 2024 (play MapleStory 😊)
they do not make advanced tutorials like this anymore
BTW you CANT roll 3 line drop or meso on a single item until upcoming patch
New players, make some new characters to lv200 farm easiest weekly boss instead of grinding endlessly.
He keep mentioning about one shot mob but he never mentioned that you will be lack of Arcane Force (can use hyper point to make it up) and Sacred Force(daily and super rare drop only) I can not one shot mobs with my damage gear at lv260
Btw you can’t loot 180 boss crystals using a single character.
Stick to a single character out of 50+classes grinding until burn out or try different classes is your choice
Happy Mapling ❤
If i wouldnt train then the drop/meso gear wouldnt be important.
gg drop gear
yea i spent 5 bill. never lucky
Just get lucky its that easy bro 😂
