I've been on Accutane for two months now and my doctor recommended me to start with a lower dose so she can see how I react to it. So I started with a dose of 20 mg, and after a month I increased the dose to 30 mg, which is what I needed. Will that be a problem for full results because I haven't started with needed dose? Thanks❤
Hello! Good Q; no, not a problem for full results. It may take you a little bit longer to get to your cumulative goal dose but that’s okay as long as the total is the same!

I used to have clear and smooth skin before, but now I’m suffering from hormonal acne (huge factor are stress weather since I moved to another country). I have taken 3 rounds of Minocycline and topical gel (Tretinoin), which helped clean my skin for a few months, but acne comes back after. 😭 I have decided to try Accutane, so I did my blood work today, and will start my Accutane journey soon. However, since you and other dermatologists mentioned that Accutane cannot cure hormonal acne, it makes me wonder if taking Accutane will really help improve my skin, and whether hormonal acne is just a season or a permanent thing 🙁
Thank you for watching and for sharing your story! I do check all my patients for hormonal acne and try those medications first before accutane if I think hormones are the key underlying driver of the acne. Every patient is different so it really depends!

I did not watch the video yet. I am a Dermatologist. Generally, the suggested cumulative dose is one milligram for every kilogram you weigh for five months. (Body weight in pounds divided by 2.2 equals body weight in kilograms). It doesn't have to be at a certain dose from the start, but added up over time. e.g.: a total dose of 10,500 milligrams of accutane for a 70 kilogram patient.

I wanna do accutane but can’t get over the blood work thing . I have a lower blood pressure and extremely sensitive to giving away my blood
