@AlbertoNaskaeng Berto, I'm sure you probably know this, but it's not really that the outside rain line has no rubber on it (rain will often wash rubber off the track anyways), it is the fact that the asphalt outside of the racing line does not have a polished surface like the racing line does. I started working in the asphalt paving business when I was 11. My father was in the business (owned a business) before I was born. I was born in 1969, and started working full-time in the asphalt paving industry when I was 16, so I know a lot about asphalt, or what many Europeans call tarmac. The rock in the asphalt mix that is on the surface of asphalt gets polished smooth by the tires on the racing line, where as the surface of the asphalt mat off the racing line maintains the sharp corners on the rocks that are in the asphalt surface so the tires gain better grip on the unpolished rock of the asphalt outside the racing line, and those lines outside the normal racing line are called the "rain" line as I'm sure you know. You can also look for rough places in the asphalt mat to find grip, as asphalt is a natural product that is mixed and sometimes when the material is being dumped out of the truck into the machine, the rocks being heavier than the sand and smaller rocks will separate when (called segregation of the material) being dumped into the machine and you can get rough areas in the asphalt mat that can give you grip as well. If you do a track walk, you look for these areas. Also at times the roller can have an influence on the asphalt that causes the asphalt to spread out a little, you can see little fine surface cracks (they will be transverse cracks or perpendicular to the direction of travel) that can impart extra grip as well. In the asphalt industry it is called "checking" and occurs more often on steep slopes or steeply banked curves and the finer the asphalt material is the better the chance that "checking" will occur. It also happens very easily with rubberized or polymer additive materials often called "superpave" mixes or just called rubberized asphalt. It happens more with these materials because they are often very fine mixes with the largest rock sizes being rather small. The rubberized mixes also have a "stretchy" viscosity that comes from the rubber addatives that often result in "checking" from being rolled with the heavy roller when the material is too hot, and it requires a lot of experience and knowledge to get the small surface cracks to go away with subsequent finish rolling, but those areas will provide extra grip for racing, but can often have very fine washboarding from the checking as well that often can get worse as the asphalt ages, but if the asphalt is raced on while it is still very fresh, the rubber tires can often close up the small "checking" cracks because while the asphalt is in the curing stage (depending on environmental factors, curing takes anywhere from 30 to 90 days) after being laid, the surface becomes soft when the sun heats it up and excess asphalt oils are drawn to the surface, but remember asphalt oils are sticky and act as an adhesive in the asphalt.

This is one of the best comments I have found on UA-cam in all topics ranging from chess to astrophysics to climate. Someone who really knows what he's talking about! And shares his knowledge briefly but in detail. Please think about creating content and sharing this with us in a video?

It's called tarmac because of the full name of the originator.......tar macadam, I also think that with this guy's driving/racing experience he knows about it without your input

@@adamhousden6349 as I said in my comment, he probably knows these things I said. At least in part. So your comment was not necessary, except for your personal purposes. While what you say about the word tarmac may be correct, the technical name for asphalt and tarmac is asphalted concrete. I made my comment to help Albero fill out any knowledge he did not already possess, as he seemed to be a little surprised by his opponents choice of lines. While these comments can be read by other people for thier edification, the comment was directed to Alberto. You choosing to be a substitute for his voice is not appropriate in my opinion. That said, anyone can comment here for any reason they wish. I do not comment often, but I always try to contribute, so your rebuke seems rather self serving and not appropriate.... In my opinion, but thanks for the feedback, I will file it away to help me if I ever comment again here...... Thanks!

You can do a Legends road championship against the AI in iRacing. I did it while Naska was doing his Legend videos and had a blast. Takes some time to get the AI level right, but when you nailed that they are so good.

SC and FCY have ruined racing. VSC is far better. Janks honestly deserved that win. Race 4 was a great battle with Torelli. BTW if you really want to see the dumbest move in motorsport history, Max at Hungarian GP 2024 is right up there! A one or two race ban might teach him some track etiquette.
