using the tapping method is super useful when you're chasing down routing troops or enemy cav, as it allows you to match speeds with your target, making it easier and quicker to finish them off. I know it's a little difficult to acclimate to, but try to force yourself into controlling your horse this way and the results will be notable. is it X that halts the horse immediately? I can never remember because i don't use it that often, but there is a hotkey. no more faceplanting your horse into the castle walls when rushing for those ladders! I know you do it!
If you see your character or party members have just died in the battle results screen, after you go to the troop/prisoner then loot page you can still drag off their items into your inventory otherwise after that they're lost with the character. Unless you save cheese ofc.
A tip for couching. With a shield equipped hold a low block to put your lance near couch position. Then when you want to couch let block go and quickly press couch. It will instantly couch the lance as it was already being held near the couched grip. You can also do this after a hit to couch again almost immediately.
@@cookdislander4372what he said, but also some spears allow couching as well. And if done right, it's an insta kill on most people and even horses. You just press r1/rb to switch to couch mode, get some momentum on your horse and just aim at the enemy without holding r2/rt or anything else. Just charge into them while aiming at them and if you hit it'll end them rightly.
And r1/rb isn't just for switching to couch mode with spears and lances, it's for switching attack mode with all weapons. Like from 1h to 2h with swords or thrown to 1h with javelins/throwing knives/throwing axes.

@user-cr4cj1fl8z not really cheese. You can literally max tactics and auto cal every battle for a free win. Or you can spend 45min soloing a massive fight. Just up to how the player wants to play
couch lance is good if you wanna take out some imperial cataracts or whatever they are called 😂 due to the armor, but its so hard to hit anything with that thing that its not worth it in my opinion. Much more fun to have a big two handed axe or a swing polearm and go into landmower mode in big battles, looking for vulnerable archers or circling around the back of an enemy shieldwall and then charging in at full speed to chop off 5-6 heads before you pierce through their ranks on the other side. That way I probably can kill like 50-100 troops myself per battle. (also if this is on PS then you get those gnarly blood splash sounds from the controller which makes it even more fun and disgusting at the same time 😂)
Getting T4 and T5 troops to early is a BAD tip. They are expensive to maintain in any meaningful quantity until mid-game. This is a sure way to bankrupt yourself. You're better off leveling your troops to T3 and stopping there until your overall force size is 120+. Anything over T3 is overkill in early game
It’s skill related. If you’re running to tournaments, chasing looters and clearing hideouts you’re probably right. If you’re mercing to a kingdom I’d take 50 T5/6 over 120 T3 any day of the week. You can get so much loot smashing lords joining armies or joining late into battles, swinging sieges etc. you’ll be a millionaire before you know it as long as you don’t wipe.
Also, when you start to obtain cities, I did the mistake of packing the garrisons with t4-t6 troops. I was paying over 2k for 3 cities at one points lol. Luckily the kingdom I was in was getting tributes from 3 other kingdoms + taxes and other incomes, I only had to pay 5k per day. This Is a lot during peace time, so I had to donate the troops to other castles and cities in my kingdom to get them off my payroll lol.
I do the opposite of you. Instead of rushing to 120+ low tier troops, I get 30-40 high tier troops. Then I get a mercenary contract and raid caravans. Lower party size means I'm fast enough to catch them, and high tier troops means I win easily even though my character is still weak in the early game. I avoid big parties and any difficult battles (again, very easy to do with a small group) and just repeat. You can get rich in just one war pretty early on with this method. Each caravan you take out is usually 20-40k in loot.
That depends on the battle ratio. If they outnumber you, then they will come at you. If you outnumber them or you're both on more or less same troop number, then they will wait for you. Actually, it's called strategy. Only dumb people run strait to their deaths, being then real or digital.
How can I stop paying tribute to an anther kingdom? , because when I finally created my own kingdom two kingdom declare war against me, so I made peace with one of them by paying tribute, but I lose a lot of money and I can’t pay them any more, what I should do ?
The only way to "renegotiate" your tributes with another kingdom is to declare a war on them (aka simply attacking them), then offer to make peace again once you get a better offer (you paying less tributes or they paying tributes to you). The amount and direction of tributes paid depends on your sucess in the war - settlements captured, casualties inflicted, lords captured, villages raided. If you aren't strong enough to capture their settlements and hold them, try burning a couple of villages quickly and attack weaker parties to capture enemy nobles (particularly clan leaders or faction leaders, if you can get them) and keep them prisoner. If you can get ahead of them in prisoner and damage count, they will usually be ready to take your peace offer and pay tribute to you to make you stop, even if they are the stronger faction and could absolutely crush you if you did them the favor to gather all of your armies in one place and face them head on.
What you want to do is find the leader of the clan and talk to them. Ask them what they think of their liege, then pass the persuasion check. You can save before if you dont want to risk failing (since they wont let you try again). Altough there are a few conditions for the option to even be there (otherwise they will tell you they are happy with their current liege and you just wasted some time, but dont lose anything). The conditons are: 1) you want to have high relationships with them, ideally close to 100. 2) the more poor the clan is, the more likely they are to join you. You can check how poor they are in the encyclopedia. The easiest way to make a clan poor is to take their fiefs. Then, after a while, their wealth will be reduced (since they dont have fiefs to bank their armies). 3) sometimes you can recruit rich clans if they have low relations with their king and you are at war with them (since, if you recruit a clan while being at war with them, they keep their fiefs). This is all after you have a kingdom declared obviously
Make sure you have a fast horse and a couchable lance. An icon will appear in the bottom right, when your going fast press right bumper and it will couch. It's good fun, one hit kills
