The before and after blocking photos are very instructive. The lace really changes and looks much better. What a beautiful texture!

I always get second sock syndrome when knitting socks, but recently I tried knitting socks two at a time and I LOVE IT! Huge recommendation🎉🌟

I have the same fear of only having the interest in knitting one sock and then losing interest by the time I get to the second. My version of two at a time knitting is to just get another sock needle and knit them in tandem, like toe on sock 1, then toe on sock 2, etc. Then I know I will end up with two and they’ll both be ready to wear at the same time!

Lovely choice of knitwear. I think the first garment would drape better knitted in a silk blend. You came up on my feed hence how I found you!!

You popped up on my UA-cam feed, enjoyed seeing your projects. The lace top you were wearing is Absolutely Beautiful and looks Lovely on You. Just a tip for 2nd sock syndrome try starting both socks simultaneously either on seperate needles or 2 at a time on one long needle, I always knit 2 at a time and I’m,a toe up sock convert. Very Pink Knits has great Tutorials on how to do 2 at a time. ❤

Your Pressed Flowers Shawl is gorgeous. I’m knitting my 4th Felix Cardigan, this time using Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton, modifying with smaller needles and larger size garment. Not sure if it is going to fit but we’ll see. I just found your channel and i look forward to seeing more. 😊

that pressed flower shawl is beautiful! I know what you mean about chunky knits being terrible to work up. My current project in a chunkier knit and the needles hurt my hands. thanks for a the video :)

Hi from a new subscriber from the Lovely Yarn Podcast. Really enjoyed your makes. I too like to have a more focused knitting style. I usually work on one major project and maybe a sock or musselbourgh hat if I'm really bored with the main one. It's so satisfying casting off! I think I will go back to your previous episodes and catch up. ❤

I returned to knitting in January this year...and have encouraged the teachers at the yarn shop I frequent that teach the classes to offer a class in two-at-a-time-toe-up magic loop socks in April. I know myself...I would have one orphan sock and thus never attempt to make another.

@@karliepaige8269 Yes!!! Since I know it's coming, I've slowly been acquiring sock yarn in preparation...including a solid for the toe and heel. I also had some piano students go to Japan with their parents a couple of weeks ago, and since knitting is so big in Japan, I asked them to bring me back a skein of sock yarn if they happened to see a yarn shop...and they brought me back TWO skeins of Noro sock yarn! I will have to stay busy this summer with socks...but then, no worries about them making me hot! I may even try to use the commuter train and bus to get more knitting time!

Loved you makes and wips and future plans. So great to see someone so young into the craft of knitting. I learned to knit from my mum when I was 13 but that was many many years ago, I did lots of pattern and fairisle jumpers. Then stopped for sewing. I am knitting. Vest at the moment but my arms and hands are not what they used to be. There is 8 rows to the pattern and I get a bit confused when I haven’t picked it up for a while. I just love all the New Yarns available now and would like to make the T shirt type top you made. We don’t have a good yarn store here but when I visit my daughter in Melbourne there is one there that I can go to so I might get the pattern and hopefully get the yarn there. Thanks for a lovely video. I am sitting putting a few PDF sewing patterns together so I use the time to catch up with “UA-cam friends” to see what is happening. Cheers fromAustralia🇦🇺🇦🇺

Beautiful makes! The Collett tee reminds me of the Two Color Top by Cathy Carron that is in my queue.
I recently made the Onoro Tank by Good Night, Day-it does not use bulky yarn. I used Pima Rino cotton/merino super wash and made it a little longer. It was a fun and fast knit.

I’m a sewist but looking to learn to knit later this year. Your makes are beautiful and whilst I know I will need to start with something really basic (scarf?!) the 2nd rose coloured t shirt top looks so my style - you’ve inspired me ❤

Thank you! Good luck with knitting this year, that is so exciting ☺️☺️☺️
A scarf would definitely be a great place to start 😊

    • @joannathesinger770
      @joannathesinger770 Рік тому

There is no such thing as a sewist. The term doesn't even make etymological sense. If you are offended by the various and assorted other terms, then the good old "sewer", which can be used regardless of gender and thus inclusive, has been used in English since the 1300's.
      You wouldn't call a plumber a plumbist, or a carpenter a carpentist...or a knitter a knittist...and thus sewer...not sewist.

👋 new subscriber. This is a lovely podcast. Your lace top is so pretty, great job! I’m knitting “Dark Academia” by Sharon Hartley and the “Downtown Hoodie by Tori Yu. I like having a simple and a complex project on my needles at the same time so I can choose “ focused knitting”, or “ TV knitting”. I agree about chunky knitting, it’s not fun! Thanks again for a great episode.
