I’m 54 and my daughter is now 16. In 2018 when she was 12 she asked me to take her from Las Vegas to see BTS in LA . I went with an open mind thinking to myself “it’s to make my daughter happy”. Little did I know that I would be totally blown away by their performance that day and I left the venue wanting more. Their dedication, humbleness, stage presence and true gratefulness towards their fans was AMAZING! I retired from the Air Force in 2009 and enlisted in the (BTS) ARMY in 2018. What they have experienced during their entire journey is beyond amazing (good and bad) but their resolve is amazing. With every achievement or accolade they receive, I feel like a proud father. This coming from a fan of metal music. I have since opened my ears to so many other genres of music and other artists thanks to them!

I’m 69 and grew up with the Beatles. Didn’t think there would Ever be a band like that again. My 16 year old granddaughter showed me BTS 7 years ago and I’ve been a fan every since, when I heard Jin sing Epiphany I was hooked. It’s a song about Loving yourself first and foremost. Just love the band 💜💜💜💜. Jin was going to college to be an actor never sung or danced before, he was getting off a bus when Big Hit recruited him, he had to learn how to sing and dance.

I don’t have a recommendation to make, but I’m warning you, in a few months, you will pass from “all of them look the same” to “now we know them by their voice, even by their shadow” 🫢😊 I purple you! Army is a name BTS gave to their fans in the beginning. It stands for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. Taylor’s guide goes more into each member. What their background is and their role in the band. It’s very good. And it doesn’t matter that it shows snippets of songs. You still will enjoy the songs later. Thanks for this reaction. As a woman of 65 I have often been teased by people for my love of BTS by people who have no concept of them at all and make the K-Pop assumption. However I see no difference to listening to songs in Korean than I do to listening to Opera/Classical music in Italian, French or German (which I also enjoy). I am inspired by them in so many ways apart from listening to their music. They are fine, generous, humble and ever so talented young men.

I just found out about you guys and I‘ve watched all of your videos in the last couple hours and it‘s so interesting to see the change in your perspective about BTS. Please, don‘t worry too much. We all been through that change and it‘s absolutely normal. ARMYs tend to recommend and educate a lot because we try to guide new potential members of the fandom into the „right“ directions. The bigger the fandom gets the more toxic fans join, who sometimes also hurt BTS themselves. It‘s important for us that the good and fun side of the fandoms will always be the majority.
Our number one rule is: Please give love to all 7 members. Of course you can have favorites (Biases) but it‘s always all 7.
I really love to watch people slowly fall in love with BTS. Please don‘t feel too pressured with all the recommendations. And thank you so much for for your reactions. Can‘t wait to watch your journey

My mom heart immediately loved them for the love, reassurance, and inspiration they gave to my daughter who was nervous starting college, creating her adult life. To listen to their music and watch them perform with her by my side, it was obvious we would love these young men forever! 💜 They have helped me as an adult woman during tough times such as our children moving on to college ("Let Go") and losing my rock, my Dad ("Life Goes On"). And not just their music, unmatched talent in singing, dancing, but just the incredible young men they are!!!! They are genuine, caring, loving, intelligent, and silly, goofy, and hilarious! Completely relatable and completely unique. Thank you for your reactions, especially to this....Welcome! This video is my introduction to your channel. I found you through the recommendations in my ARMY Moms and Silver ARMY (age 55+) groups. I am looking forward to going back and watching the beginning of your journey.
With over 400 comments, someone may have already explained the light sticks. The light sticks are called ARMY Bombs. When you go to a concert, you sync the bomb to your assigned seat. During the concert, the bomb will flash and change colors. Patterns, like waves and messages, are created. (In the video you watched, there is a shot of the upper tier "BTS 💜ARMY"). The ARMY bombs, along with the various fan chants for the songs (similar to a call and response), ties the audience together. The fans at a BTS concert are like no other. It is like a reunion with 50,000+ of your closest friends. ARMYs make small gifts and photo cards to hand out. ARMYs see a problem and step in to help. At the first concert last year in L.A., Sofi stadium was well understaffed. ARMYs helped organize the merch queues, helped at the gates, directed after-concert traffic with their light bombs, and advocated for physically challenged ARMY who were faced with barriers.

    • @keciaandthepurpleheart2961
      @keciaandthepurpleheart2961 Рік тому +10

You must have been at the same gate at Sofi as me. I was really worried that someone was going to get hurt until ARMYs all stepped up and organized and worked together to get us all in safely. 💜

Walking through the parking lots I came to a barrier that would have required me to walk a long distance back. An ARMY immediately saw my situation and asked if she could assist me. Several people came together with grace and kindness to help. Staff at Sofi repeatedly commented on how patient and positive ARMYs were. When talking with airport and hotel staff, they frequently described ARMYs the same way.

Hi!!! Glad you guys are getting started with these! Just want to mention something I remembered since Summer mentioned that she's a mom, the method that Bang Si-Hyuk (BTS' company Co-CEO and Founder) to resolve conflicts was actually similar to what my Mom did when we were young! BTS wasn't founded yet lmaooo (I'm the same age as RM), but when we were young, my brother and I would fight so much to the point of violence, you know, being kids. At some point, my mom said that we can fight, but if we fight, we're fighting with her too, but we resolve it together. I think that's how we started getting into fewer fights because we only fought about serious things and less about silly things like we started thinking more before confronting people. It's nice because now I'm close with my brother and even if we live far from each other, we can talk whenever and feel like no time has passed. 😊

Hi. Thank you for reacting to this introduction... Also, Regarding Taylor's "Guide to BTS members: the Bangtan 7" well, it's true that there are songs included in the video that you haven't reacted to yet but there are just a couple of them and those are mostly their solo songs when each member is being introduced in the video, so you don't have to worry about the spoilers. I think most of your ARMY subscribers would really want you guys to react to it because it really is the best and most recent introduction video and you get to know each member and how they were formed, also get to know a little about ARMY too . But no pressure tho, we're just really excited for you guys to react to it. Haha. But still do react to anything you wish to react first. We'll just be here waiting for the videos you would put out 💜😊
I'd also would like to recommend some live performances which focuses more on their vocals, they did a medley of their songs (mostly you haven't seen the MV or heard the song yet, but it's okay, you'll get to those MVs soon). So its okay to to check out these two or either one of them.
    1. BTS Tiny Desk Concert
    2. BTS Festa Room Live
Other MVs I would like to recommend
    1. Fake Love
    2. Blood, Sweat & Tears
    3. Not Today
    4. Fire
    5. Film Out (one of their Japanese songs)
Thank you guys so much!! Looking forward to more BTS reactions. So excited to be in this journey with you. just to answer some questions -
you mentioned that they seem like they're still so genuine, and that the fame didn't seem to change them at all. that is true. i think something that most armys tell you, is that we came for the music, choreography, or even looks for some people. but we DEFINITELY stayed for their personalities. they're incredible people, humble as ever, and still maintain the same authenticity from day one when they were struggling financially. they never forget to thank the fans and always try to engage with them through livestreams, individually and as a team. bts are just a bunch of brothers who happen to be musical geniuses and millionaires. when you dive into them more you'll really get it, but they can compete and betray each other in games to win gift cards or snacks one day, and perform in front of 90k people the next day. that's the reason we love them. they're just the same as us, but have a voice that can impact the world.
another thing to say about how humble they are - even after reaching this level of fame, they still keep finding ways to improve themselves. suga recently mentioned he's taking english class, Japanese class, singing lessons, pilates and dance lessons (i might have missed one, or a few). and i mean, you've seen him dance, so you already know how good he is, but he still takes these lessons to further improve. jungkook has said that these days, his goal is to not be the same person he was yesterday. all of the members have hobbies outside of bts and music - for example, jungkook loves boxing and videography, and is very athletic and visually artistic (drawing and painting). they really do it all and despite reaching these insane levels of success, they continue to try to be better every day. they also all have postsecondary education (all of them have bachelors degrees, some of them are getting masters).
jungkook was the one who said something about tv shows. no, he is not an actor but it was a misleading translation. it would better translate to "broadcasts" which can include anything from interviews, variety shows (like game shows), and other types of broadcasts. although, it is true that there are two actors in bts. v has acted in a Korean drama series before, and jin graduated with an acting major in college.
army was named by bts and big hit entertainment. it stands for adorable representative and m.c. for youth but most armys just call ourselves army since that full name can be a bit awkward and embarrassing, especially for older armys. we joke that we don't tell people our government name haha
when you heard the thing about 3 members becoming full members of the "association", it was referring to the Korean music copyright association (KOMCA) not big hit entertainment. the KOMCA is a collective that manages copyrights and credits for musical works and broadcasting/reproduction rights, etc. copyright owners (songwriters, composers, arrangers) become associate members of the KOMCA. out of bts, 3 of them are full members, and the other 4 are associate members of this association. the 3 members who are full members are the main songwriters and producers for the group's music, and have their hand in almost every bts song. in fact, currently, their leader, RM, is the second most credited idol in the KOMCA, sitting at 200 song credits as of recently. he's the youngest person to reach that number of credits ever. suga from bts is also among the top 10 most credited idols in the KOMCA (147 credits). this DOES NOT include their production credits, only songwriting and composition. in production, suga should have the most credits among bts. you guys are musicians so you probably know, but i often see reactors not really realizing how impressive these numbers are. jhope, suga, and rm all have >100 credits. I've seen reactors point out that the 4 other members who have

I get to know them first ,from that day my life literally changed. They taught me so many things about people, lives about this world. And always help me to study hard. I passed my graduation and doing Masters In Business Administration and they really hits me hard lol. I love them how they always try to motivate me with their music for a reason. I used to study Hard because of them and now I'm working at a decent software company. ❤️ I really appreciate what BTS done to me. in the west a casting is held and a few month later a group of young adults gets debuted barely knowing each other, they never have a chance to grow a close bond

@@katherinecordero472 yeah it´s totally fake. i watched an interview of an old girl group member explaining how she got the nickname stuck up girl. the company told her to act in a certain way, but fans could see that she was was faking it. so she would get hate online. and she cried every night. so after the contract ended she created a YT video were she talks about her time as an idol and what she must do.
after seeing that it made me not want to dive into the world of kpop only BTS. she now has more fans than before and they love her for her honesty. i think people in korea are sick and tired of idols pretending to be something they are not. so BTS was a breath of fresh air.

Their next concert is in Busan, South Korea on October 15th in bid for Busan to hold world expo in 2030. But right now they are all working on their own solo albums so who knows when they tour again. Because also if you aren't aware all abled bodied men in South Korea must enlist in the military for a minimum of 18 months and BTS has to age 30 to enlist and Jin (the oldest member) turns 30 in December and Suga the 2nd oldest turns 30 in March of 2023. The reason for this is because technically South Korea and North Korea are still at war as they have been for decades and the birth rates are low so they need as many soldiers as they can to be prepared and ready to fight if something were to happen with North Korea. There have been talks of whether BTS should be exempted but most Koreans feel like it would be unfair if BTS were exempted because every other male kpop artist (well those who are Korean citizens) have had to serve or are currently serving, not to mention all the other young men who have to sacrifice 2 years of their lives to serve. But there was also discussion about how they might be able to still perform and serve their country, but I don't know how they will make that work.

    - First off, I really love you guys' positive energy. 💜🥰👍💜
    - The intro from Taylor will answer your questions about the individual members.
    - I also highly recommend XCeleste's video BTS Hardships 2013-2021 since that's a huge part of their story and goes a long way to explaining their close relationship with ARMY, and her This Is BTS ARMY-video will probably surprise you a lot. 😉
    - ARMY was named by Big Hit and is an acronym for Adorable Representatives M.C. for Youth. The lightsticks are called ARMY-bombs. When you're at a concert you connect it to Bluetooth and coordinate it with your seat number. That way they can control it centrally to make symbols, words, rainbows, etc. to match the music.
    - They've lived together in increasingly bigger dorms right up until this summer. If you watch their Life Goes On mv it was filmed in their real dorm/bedrooms during the pandemic (and directed by Jungkook).
    - It's not exactly going to a concert (good luck getting tickets 😅) but they're actually doing a huge concert in Busan this October 15th at 6 pm KST which will be live streamed *for FREE* all over the world as a part of them being ambassadors of Busan's bid to host the World Expo 2030. 🎉
    - Unfortunately they will have to go into the military over the next couple of years starting with the oldest member Jin this winter. So at the moment they're focussing more on individual projects but they still do things as a group as well and they probably always will. Bangtan forever. 🤜🤛
    💜 Borahae/I purple you 💜

Same with your most favourite songs from your favourite artists. Most people can't even recite most of the song itself except some major parts. But once you understand a song and its message and a few key parts, you vibe with it in your own way and appreciate it for what it is. Which is exactly what the world has done with Kpop, even with Western pop for all the non-English speakers.

They are on a hiatus (lots of groups in Korea have down time), but they are still very active in their solo projects and other content that we as Army have never felt a loss of their presence. Yay. Great start to get to know BTS. Taylor's video is much longer, but it goes into each of the 7 members in more depth. There is still more to I learn even after that one, but it's pretty good. They have their own variety show Run BTS which had 155 episodes, then 2 special ones just this year, and they've promised they'll come back with more. They also did Bon Voyage (traveling in other countries) for 4 seasons pre 2020 and then with the pandemic they did In The Soop (In the Forest) Season 1 (2020) and Season 2 (2021) where the boys stay in a remote location in South Korea together for a "staycation" - so they cook, play, sing, sleep, etc. while we watch (so not really much of a vaction for them really because they are still on camera a Lot). They had a couple documentaries but I haven't seen the full ones, such as Burn the Stage, and Break the Silence. All of these mentioned are Paid content for being a Member ($22/year) on Weverse. Their "VLives" are now on Weverse also so I guess they are WLives starting this year. Their next concert is in Busan, South Korea on October 15th and it is free (they had a kind of raffle to get the tickets, and of course travel and hotel, etc. isn't free), but they will also be Live Streaming it on Weverse. You can bet I will be watching. Also, if you have Disney+, you can see a stream of their live concert in LA from last November, called Permission to Dance. The full 2+ hour concert, and a few peaks behind the stage. Their BangtanTV channel here on UA-cam includes Bangtan Bombs, which offer behind the scenes and shows their personalities, dance practices, making of MVs, interviews, and more. On their anniversary of June 13th, they do a "Festa" (typically a special concert, though they didn't do that this year, new song releases (they released Yet to Come, Run BTS, and For Youth and put out a 3 CD album called "Proof" which is a compilation album including those 3 songs and many of their older songs), and often a "free" song on SoundCloud. Jungkook did a special song for ARMY this year called My You, freebie. By the way, the light stick is called an ARMY Bomb. I finally just got one off Weverse Shop app, but not sure now when I'll ever get to use it in an all 7 (aka OT7) concert. Busan may be the last for awhile, depending on what happens with mandatory military service in South Korea because Jin will have to enlist after his birthday in December, if they don't get an exception or alternative work in place of the enlistment. So, right now, as of June 2022, BTS are concentrating on solo works/albums, but still doing BTS group activities. J-Hope was first and even headlined at Lollapalooza in Chicago with is Jack In The Box album. RM is expected to be next (he's said that a few times, and on his birthday recently said he thought by the end of 2022). We'll have to wait and see what happens by end of year as far as BTS group music is concerned. Sorry for the long comment.

Also, Jungkook is the one who spoke about tv shows, but he's not an actor. He was referring to the variety shows they have as well as the interviews and talk shows they attend. They film for a show called Run BTS, in which they play games, complete missions and challenges. They also have 2 vacation/traveling shows. One is called Bon Voyage of which there are 4 seasons (2016-19) and well as In The Soop (2 seasons 2020-2021). These shows follow them on vacations in other countries or in Korea (during the pandemic). Additionally, there are 3 official docu series that follow them on their world tours: Burn the Stage, Bring the Soul, and Break the Silence. There's more and you can look it up on their BTS Wiki site!

What I love about this channel is that u are a family and the fact that u enjoy watching bts contents together is exactly reflective of most army families like my family. It would be refreshing to watch ur future videos that ul just watch in ur living rooms while watching bts videos esp their run bts games and award show videos and have a good time... 25:50 bts' magnificent lyricism and sincerity make a substantial part of why we armys are extremely loyal, when u know the meaning of their songs I assure u their songs becomes a thousand % enjoyable and relatable 💜

I just love how y'all analyze and understand each point, not only in their music but also in their personalities. BTS has been around for almost 10 years, I am about to celebrate 5 years with them, and I can assure you that these guys have not changed at all, yes, they have matured and improved, but that humility and innocence is still there, of course, they are adults who are close to their 30's but they still have that childish personality outside of their obvious work, because you can see how professional they are on stage.
In my almost 5 years of following these guys we have gone through massive inexplicable hatred, BTS is hated simply for being Korean, only in 2020-2021 with the pandemic case, the record of racism against Asians increased and BTS being so vulnerable in the western industry, they were targeted by racism. Those were difficult years. So it's not an exaggeration to be overprotective of them, they were unfair to BTS.
These guys make my day always, when I have a bad day I just listen to their music or watch their videos and I feel better.
Thank you for this reaction, we would like to see more like this on the channel.

Growing up, i had never been a fan of anything. I had never been invested in any artist or concept. I found BTS when i developed depression and thinking suicide, but just their music and what they stand for helped me immensely. They gave me back myself, my joy, my self esteem and my ability to see the world with the eyes of honesty. Now, they have become my life and happiness and i can proudly say that i am a fan, an ARMY and i unapologetically preach the gospel of BTS to my friends. I'm greatly blessed to have found BTS in my lifetime and I'm eternally grateful to have been blessed by them.

when jk mentioned tv shows he meant being a part of variety shows, which is something very present for idols in korea. however 2 of the members are actually actors (jin's major was acting and v acted in a historical drama called hwarang). i recommend you guys watch "the bangtan 7" by taylor (take your time reacting to these btw, dont feel too pressured), i guarantee you fall even more in love lol
also in the most recent celebration of their 9 year anniversary they said they will be taking a break from doing group music due to burn out and wanting to find their individuality again (other group projects will continue, such as their variety show "run bts"). they will be releasing more solo projects (keep in mind they already had solo projects before this), but will come back as group soo enough and that armys should take their word for it (which we do). they will hold a free concert in korea this october and it sold out in like 15 min haha

And I was relate so much at what Jk said about his personality was influenced by them, it same goes to me. My whole personality was also influenced by them. Ive been growing with them for years, from a teen to 21 year old adult. I am so lucky to live in a generation with them. And I will always be thankful to my friend who introduce them to me back then in 6th grade.

With BTS, you cant help but root them as people. Theyre so kind and humble and just positive human beings 💜 I read a twitter post made by an ARMY that's stuck to me to this day, it goes something like, "Its no wonder we fight for BTS so hard, cause they made me fight for me". Their songs and words and smiles and positivy healed so many wounds and saved so many lives. Im so glad you watched this.
The Taylor video is extremely good too (and ARMY love watching long reaction videos) it focuses more on the individuals, their backgrounds, talents and personalities. 💜 I really hope you do watch that in the future.

There are some concepts(words) that you guys might not understand in the video or comments.
    1) 'Idol' is the common ways to call music artist in Korea.(especially who can dance too)
    2) There is no main character in the group like other typical boyband. BTS is only complete with 7 members and please try to look them as equally💜
    3) 'Main' 'Lead' 'Sub' is the words for their vocal and rapping skills, not for the popularity.
These title(Main, Lead, Sub) is just superficial words which was decided in early ages of BTS to explain/introduce themselves for the audience who are new to them.
    4) You might see some articles saying 'Hiatus of BTS' or 'Disbandment of BTS' but these articles are reporting false information. These day, they are just taking productive time to making their own solo music and have some individual time for vacation, military enlistment preparation(maybe). THEY ARE NOT BREAKING UP.
Sorry for my broken English. Btw, I'm Korean.😁
Thank you for your authentic reaction video!

When Jungkook was talking about TV shows he meant like interviews and variety shows where they would be guests. Starting out, since they were a small company and looked down on they weren't invited to a lot of them which is why they created their own called Run BTS. They do a lot of games and activities, cooking and obstacle course challenges, etc.
Jin wanted to be an actor before joining (Big Hit castors actually saw him getting off a bus to go to class and stopped him, asking him to join because he was so handsome. He had no experience singing or dancing before he joined)
V has actually acted in a drama called Hwarang (which was fantastic)
I get wanting to wait to do Taylor's intro since there is a lot of music you haven't heard yet. Think of it like hearing samples. Let us know which ones you like or want to hear and we can tell you what it is, that way you can put it on your watchlist.
I'm sure you've heard this but ARMY don't mind, and often enjoy, longer videos since you are sincerely wanting to learn and engage.
We also like to leave "books" in the comments 😉 helping you to further understand the message or our own experiences.
I've really enjoyed watching you guys go down your rabbit hole journey and am looking forward to your next videos. Borahae💜🫰
