There's a third possibility, the suit peter's is wearing already has alot of tech from STARK.
and it's some sort of AI which is still running the suit and preventing Dr Strange to take box.
It would make more sense if he was in iron spider but this was his regular suit and there are no mechanics in the suit that could make this possible

That's not peter's sense that denys dr strange to take box, but his suit's AI that analysed peter's reflexes and suit made him do it by tramsitting extra electrical signals to body to deny dr to take box.

That might arise a questions that how did he close them when Tobey and andhrew arrived.
