Imperial Caterpillar and Moth with Norm!, our Yellow Throated Warbler

This Imperial Moth Caterpillar dropped down out of our tree. It's the first one I've ever seen. My niece asked if I was going to feed it to Norm!, our Yellow Throated Warbler. I then placed the Caterpillar on the seed tray next to Norm!'s food dish, so I could show my niece the size and scale of the Caterpillar. Once the Caterpillar began moving, Norm! wanted nothing to do with it. I then placed the Caterpillar back into the tree from which he fell, and let Norm! enjoy his mealworms in peace. I included some pics of an Imperial Moth too.

Yep, Norm! and I were no threat to it. I hope to see this caterpillar as a big beautiful moth one day.
