"Best" catches... You mean there were more? What a fabulous haul, and great photos. I'd be happy to see just a handful of those in my whole lifetime! My best find in 2024 was an Old Lady, pristine condition and I just found her by accident. Hoping to have more time for looking this year, your videos always inspire 😀
@@amyesworldcatherinesminime7945 yes, I had about 250 species in 2024, I think this video shows 90 or so… Old lady is a stonker. I’ve only ever caught it once (they’re not really attracted to light) but the larvae seem to enjoy a bit of the ivy in the hedge! Great find! Do you use a moth trap of any sort?
@@amberdy12 strange is how I’d put it Richard but for moths there’s been some great species just low numbers. Hopefully 2025 is set to be a better year for insects in general. Happy new year 😃
@@BarryJohnson-o4y thanks Barry, there were certainly some great records in terms of moths. Overall insect activity was pretty low but hopefully should pick up throughout this year along with much more moth trapping to come! Happy new year 😃
