    I don't know if you have the same dimmer switches where you live but in the U.S. we can just go to any hardware store & get one for lights which replace the regular wall switch. That being said, number 2 is easier than you made it. Both the dimmer and a double outlet are designed to fit into a double wall box. After buying those and recycling a chord you can build that setup for about 12 dollars.

    @3:40 you use the glas cutter like its a pipe cutter, just cut the glass once, then slightly tap on the glass to make it break (along the cut)
    @11:30 perhaps it is more convenient to tighten the chain. look at the derailleur (its now folded and should be more stretched = tighter chain)
    instead of covering the rear bridge (so chain doesnt slam on it) you should have made a tool to break the chain, so you make it shorter (to tighten the chain).

    1:33 am I the only one who thinks this would be a bad idea for tools...? I get it that its designed to create a variable speed but doing so with a tool that is not designed that way can /could overheat the motor and short things out internally. (or at least cause more wear and tear on internal parts that are not designed for the increase/decrease load being applied by this "genius idea"
    8:02 you can do this with little to none of the prep work shown here by using a turkey baster... or a nasal aspirator (snot sucker) for little to no money.

    Defining your own ideas as genius is pretty bad form. They are pretty dependent on having a weird collection of high level tools and missing some simple things. E.g the chainsaw holder, who has welding equipment and no vice?

    • @spidersrants9796
      @spidersrants9796 6 років тому

      The vise is be light weight to carry with you in the woods on the job, that would be why the legs are spikes to stick in the ground. Have you ever hit a nail in a tree 3 or 4 miles away from your service truck and only had a file and a gas can with you? It's not much fun.

    • @Biomaterials_Science
      @Biomaterials_Science 6 років тому +6

      A spare chain would weigh less and be less likely to injure you than a spiked vice.

    • @Zulgeteb

    • @mr.m2gilane
      @mr.m2gilane 6 років тому +3

      I can buy a proper chainsaw holding vice to use in forest for 10-15 bucks. I realize that the scrap metal and welding and stuff don't cost that much (maybe, welding rods/wire ain't that cheap..) but my TIME does. And it probably works better... and is lighter... and probably lasts better.

    • @longtobe134

    In the United States there are multi bit screwdrivers available for $1.00 which is about 5-7 minutes of work at minimum wage.
    Also some of your ideas are likely to catch fire.

    • @bigredc222
      @bigredc222 6 років тому +2

      That thing does not look comfortable to use, I can't count how many of those multi tip screwdrivers I've bought, I have them everywhere, one in each car, I even have one in my bedroom, every time I needed a screwdriver at my girlfriends house, I couldn't find one, I must have brought three or more over there, and still they'd be nowhere to be found when I needed one, the last time I brought one over I hid it on top of a china cabinet.

      I don't like multi-head screwdrivers because they're not as ergonomic as a normal one, but if you want one you should spend a bit more for a higher quality product (about 10$ or so), the cheapest ones tend to break quite easily.

    C'mon guys some of these things are cool like the magnet ground for welding. Also, there value in making even junky version of common things because of learning about principles of how things work and having fun doing so. There is some tendency for children who do not tinker being unable to become effective engineers/hands on people. Many large companies won't hire people who do not have some kind of tinkering background.
    I hate music in instructional videos and I do mute it. (The worst is verbal and music at same time, at least I'm not missing something here) Buuuut still would rather have some Id's of what things you are making and using.- or labels. I can sit there and go what is that? and spend a few minutes trying to figure it out. I agree a time stamp with the final product name would be nice or at least written labels before I watch. I get a lot more out of very brief verbal instructions. 0:35 "make a rheostat with ????"

      gotta admit it though. what if your regular tap breaks and this was a neat idea despite cost . though in some applications the more expensive the tool the longer it lasts . example the bolts and nuts he used are more than likely U.S.A. made while your amazon buy is likely made in china. personal preference i love Stanley tools

    I see some of these notions and I am reminded of a neighbor who put coated clothes line in a string trimmer to strip paint off of a foundation.
    Broke one window, embedded a small stone into a picket fence that his mouthy wife had just painted, bent the shaft on his trimmer and managed
    to open up cuts on his leg, arm and face.

    Nice trick making the puffed to remove concrete dust out of the hole drilled into the masonry... too bad it’s now illegal under the new OSHA silica standards

    • @madmaxkal
      @madmaxkal 6 років тому

      Whats wrong with compressed air?

    • @ChaoticLag
      @ChaoticLag 6 років тому +1

      There is nothing wrong with the compressed air. The problem is with the Silica in the concrete. Utilizing the compressed air "puffer" to blow the dust out of the holes releases the silica into the air thus creating a reparatory hazard to not only person doing the work, but those around him - based on the TLV's. The new silica standard states that silica dust need to be controlled. This can be done by using a HEPA vacuum attachment on the hammer drill. Honestly, I have read several testing reports related to the new silica standard, and based on those if you are, say doing only 1 hole in an 8 hour shift, then you should be fine however it's recommended you wear a NIOSH approved dust mask. But if you do this task daily and are at or exceeding the TLV's within the OSHA standard, then you need the proper equipment to control silica.

    "Okay but why though?"
    Actually, I have a better question, what IS half of the stuff this guy's using? It's kinda pointless to make a "Let's make it ourselves video" if the parts and pieces you're using are completely alien to most of the people watching this. The magnetic ground has been around almost as long as the welder has. Also the magnet gives disruption to the electrical current which gives a poorer weld. If your welding junk, cool, but if your doing precision welding it's not always a good idea. Welding legs on a clamp to hold your chainsaw blade for sharpening not a big idea. Not very impressive.

    Особенно меня порадовало, где мне найти деревенский чугунок?!! Чтоб его еще и просверлить...вместо того чтоб на полку как антиквариат поставить

    Some were pretty cool.... but life's far too short to make tools that you can just purchase fairly inexpensively.

    Варвар ! Чугунок зіпсував,а як же картоплю зі шкварками ? У бутлі лампочка сама себе спалить, а макетці-туди і дорога,ніколи нічого путнього не втулиш.

      плата макетна. ща на русском обясню (шаг отверствий,и не дай боже есть разводка дорожек- никогда не совпадает с размерами комплектующих,за исключением сов.ГОСТа за 74г.).
      Коротше кажучи ,хочеш плату-зроби сам

    Идея номер три убила)) вспомнил советскую открывашку с ручкой из пня)) Идея 10 - автор болгарку в руках наверное, первый раз в жизни держал, или больше, чем на 200 об/мин не включал. Из него швея, как из говна пуля))

    I don't know ware you live but hear in the north we have this thing called rust and we can't jack up our cars on the rocker panels because we don't have any. And if we do we don't want to run the risk of destroying them by running our Jacks in to them

    No 2 is not only illegal but it's also gonna be terrible for that drill, dimmer switches and electric motors aren't friends.
