Man... Just, thank u. U can't imagine how happy I am; av been searching 4these things for years... Ur ma hero. I have a home studio in Rwanda, I use logic Pro x. Much respect 4 sure.
Hey great video. Done forget that Dts format is LRCLFELsRs so you can order your outputs as such and it’s legit. For some questions below: Sends can be used to pan. Also most film deliveries are mono split outs so you can bounce 6 monos and label .l .r .c .lfe .ls .rs and they Will link in most online programs. Great vid.
Hi Eric. Thank you for uploading this video. I have one question. When you do a final bounce, will it be a single audio file with multiple output paths? Do you just bounce down as you normally would or is there some additional export step needed. Thanks
Hi Gary. If you're using the standard version of Pro Tools there's no way to bounce a complete surround mix to a single, polyphonic WAV file. So you'll just want to bounce them to mono files and combine them in another application (if necessary). You may be able to deliver them as mono depending on where they are going.
What are some of the other apps that you can refer me to? I am having the same problem. When I bounce to mono ...which mono should i choose coming from pro tools 10 hd software?
See my note below. If you're on HD you can just bounce to a interleaved 5.1 WAV, or you can bounce to multiple mono WAVs. It depends on what you need to deliver for the final media format such as DVD, Blu-Ray, or whatever.
If you don't have HD/Ultimate, you'll need to bounce the channels as mono or stereo. It's a little tricky, but if you look at the I/O setup in this video you can see that LR can be bounced as stereo, LsRs as stereo, and then LFE and C as mono. You can pick these output busses in the Bounce To Disk dialog and bounce them one at a time. Then, you'll need to assemble the final 5.1 file (if necessary) in another application. It all depends on the format you're trying to deliver.

Thank You homie I'm a fan of your work now
Hi sir I have a big doubt on Protools perpetual 12
Can I mix 5.1 surround sound with PT perpetual 12 ?
No, you need PT Ultimate to do surround natively. Sorry.
Thank you sir
And on more suggestion please
I have Digi disign 003 can I use it protools ultimate for surround mix ?
Awesome!!!! Thanks for the video.

after i bounce to multiple mono waves how do i get the waves back into stereo waves so i can hear the surround sounds in the car
thanx so much for these, could you possibly go into more depth as to how you pan in non HD protools?
Why are the reverb buses output all going to LR? Surround reverb should go to surround output no?
Yes, they should be routed to appropriate surround outputs.
Cool, but where is your LFE output? it was created in options but i can't see in mixer.
+Dreamport Records In this configuration you'd want to use a Send to the LFE output.
What is the physical routing needed for in the studio?
Hello Brad. You'd need an interface with at least six outputs and a 5.1 speaker system.
If I have Pro tools 10hd but not the hardware is that considered non Hd pro tools?
No, that's definitely Pro Tools HD. So you can use the regular surround panners, and bounce directly to a 5.1 WAV file.
You should post a video showing how to do that
Hey Eric so i have standard Pro Tools with a 6i6 scarlette interface. How would I go about exporting a 5.1 surround mix with that kind of setup?

@@erickuehnl great that helps so much thank you!
Excellent work. I'm disgusted that avid does not provide 5.1 with a normal pro tools license. We pay for what any other daw provides natively
