Not saying u not had a valid point here....but still I feel ur choice of example is somewhat of impractical nature. First u doing loop over same query which won't happen in real case scenario. Every overhead of query done in first instance. Rest u just getting results from cache area repeatedly. Mean oracle didnt have to do any work but just when u fired it first time. Real overheads comes when it had to do processing & I/O...then your ratio might not be that impressive.
Secondly, u doing very typical count value query which results in one variable result size... so to and forth network overhead also to best min possible case. Which making your comparision ratio more impressive. For every call it had to return jus one variable from cache after performing hash checks. :)
Had it had been some real case scenario other overheads might have colored your comparison ratio a lot...depends on a particular case. but sure it wont be this impressive I suppose. ;)
Actually, its no comparison at all but u just showing/calculating how much time it takes to log in and log out....averaging it out for better results. ;)
Quote of day: Statistics is very good tool...but only when u use it sensibly. Otherwise, it may lead to lot of illusions. :)
