    This looks GREAT! I'll be giving this a go. I noticed in the live comments that they had never heard of boiling bacon, I usually do brown it before adding to the liquid but it's boiled all the same.
    Also the discount of $15 was very much appreciated for the knife, Thank You! 😊

      I was watching our solar eclipse when the premiere happened, so I wasn't in the chat ... and this Saturday I will be camping off the grid and unfortunately will miss it again. But I am happy the discount was helpful to you, I really love my knife. Enjoy the cooking and meals!

    Grüß Gott, liebe Ihre Show. Wollte Ihnen nur sagen, das man das Bohnenkraut bei Amazon kaufen kann. Den ganzen Speck kann man von einem privaten Metzger kaufen. Ein Farmer bzw. ein Rancher der organische Produkte am Internet verkauft.

    Lecker! Das habe ich heute zum MIttagessen gemacht, mit nur diesem einen Unterschied... ich habe auch zwei halbe Maiskolbenstücke in den Topf gegeben. So gut und einfach.

    Actually in correct English it is pAIRs , not peers , which go out into the sea !

    • @MyGermanRecipes
      @MyGermanRecipes  11 місяців тому

      Thank you for the correction, I'll try to keep that in mind. To be honest, I have almost given up on English pronunciation. It is so random! ... and then there is British, US, New Zealand and Australia, each with a different pronunciation (not to mention the Texan accent here). It's so confusing and if that's not enough: My English teacher in school taught a lot of words wrong. TV is not helping either, the actors mumble ... you see, it's an uphill battel 😉😄😄😄

      Actually it’s a Pier that goes into the sea, a homonym of peer- ( which is too look closely or also a person of your same age/ position)
      Anyways… I love your accent and never mind pronunciation. Spoke. English comes in many forms !!
      Thanks for all the wonderful videos ❤

      Oops it’s “to look closely” not “too”
      Damn English & autocorrect is a nightmare too haha

    Growing up in the Midwest I can remember my mom taking one or two pork steaks and boiling them and then once they began to make a broth she would add fresh green beans and neew potatoes from our garden. That was always one of my favorite meals. I still make on occasion. But never thought to add pears or thyme definitely will give that a try. Thank you for all your delicious recipes. My family had the privilege of living in the Hunsreck region from 1989-1992. And look forward to going back for a visit one day

    I am from Bavaria ,Bohnenkraut the seasoning here in the USA is summer sage , I have used it for many years growing it in my garden and drying it for the winter . I love the string bean dish , I usually make a Rue (Einbrenne ) with the flour onions and bacon , and add all the other ingredients . It is such a good fall or winter dish . Thank you !

    Pears? I'm convinced more than ever that my grandfather used to make some type of chicken and egg noodle dish/thick soup that included an apple in it. I sort of copied it about five years ago, I snuck the diced apple into the mix and no one identified the apple pieces but enjoyed the flavor.
    Does this sound like anything you might be familiar with or have a recipe for ❓

    • @MyGermanRecipes
      @MyGermanRecipes  11 місяців тому

      That sounds interesting but I don't know any recipe with chicken, apple and noodle that resembles a soup or stew. But recipes are often so regional, it might be something from a certain area in Germany.

    You might find some savory available at a plant nursery. Most herbs will grow in a pot very well, and will live for years. Given where you are, you should be able to leave it outdoors all year. Maybe in half-shade during the summer! I have to grow herbs which the stores don't carry here.

    • @MyGermanRecipes
      @MyGermanRecipes  11 місяців тому

      Great idea, I will definitely check at our plant nurseries! It might not survive our hot summer if I don't bring it inside. Most of my herbs don't make it through August if I leave them outside, no matter how much I water them.
