Hey Sam, thank you so much for reviewing my portfolio (Victor). I didn’t see this until now! This was my first ever portfolio, a lot has changed since then. At the time I had very little experience 3d modeling and rendering so the final design page of each project were always lacking. Thank you so much for the feedback, that was so awesome that your able to do this for aspiring design students.
Hey Sam, thank you so much for the insightful video! At my last job at a design studio, I occasionally got to review portfolios, and one small tip that I must give is to PLEASE - for the love of god - PROOFREAD your portfolio. It's a really small step but it's insane how many portfolios I come across that have blatant spelling mistakes and general errors. I just think it can come off as careless and it's not exactly the kind of first impression you want to provide to a potential employer!
I completely agree! I also recommend never using spellcheck in Adobe Indesign... it’s terrible! I write all of my copy in Grammarly and then copy/paste it into my portfolio document
As a student, I want my own portfolio of my own industrial designs! So once I graduate I can submit it to be able to be a future designer! Very helpful also!
Currently watching all of your portfilio review videos, they are so very helpful!! - Just one thing ive noticed in the video is the Nike 270 shoe was actually designed by Marie Odinot.
Thank you for your videos! Just found them today. 2 questions came to mind: is there a certain range of pages for the overall portfolio and pages per project? Also, does it help to include our photo in our portfolio or CV?
Hi sam, thanks so much for making this video.!! I wanted to ask you one thing, what order of serious projects is the most suitable to present? from best to worst for example? greetings and thank you very much for your content
Great idea to see your portfolio reviews/critiques! Learning from others I can better address my own portfolio! Have a modest number of projects to show and learning from your sessions have narrowed down the process to get it done! Tailoring the portfolio to the company to apply for is a great advise! Thank you Sam!
Review of your review: I hope that if you ever have to do actual portfolio reviews to employ someone for a company, you pay a bit more attention to the actual product than to the quality of the sketches.
For sure... these reviews are intended to give feedback to present their finished work in the best way possible. I’ve said in the past that I’ll only give feedback on layout and presentation which I’ll remember to say as a disclaimer at the start of each new video I film 👌
I’m just a designer who looks through applicants as part of their job and spots the same mistakes happening. I’m lending a helping hand but I’ve said in the past it’s just one opinion.
We could most definitely use every professional mentorship/advice we can from Sam! Already a seasoned ID in a successful company! Thanks Sam for the heart out on every session! Looking forward to the next live broadcast! 👍

What do you think about making a portfolio review of portfolios you selected that are exceptionally well made, pointing out why they are great?
Great idea! I keep an eye out for the exceptional portfolios for sure
