Please explain how you set your fence up to pull and 5 strands of electric comes out. I would love to see that tutorial. I enjoyed this video on all the information of Katahdin goats. Thanks for sharing.

Been thinking of getting a few sheep again.....Did I just say that!? Not sure I would go Katahdin but may consider my old breeds of Suffolk and Canadian Arcott. Just not sure if I wanna sneak around the yard again though...lol. Good video Josh. I was trying to figure out what was on fire though...smudge I assume.

The Good Word only seems to view goats negatively. Photos I've seen of both sheep n goats in the Middle East show that both may have straight hair, may be multi color, and both may have long tails - both! So where Matthew talks about the Shepherd separating the sheep from the goats, it's because only the Shepherd can see DNA-deep to know the difference. Every animal species needs the right fence etc. Goats naturally reach higher for tips of shrubby species and low tree branches, which prevents endoparasitism. They're perfect for Texas Hill Country or California chaparral. Dairy goats give up to double the amount of milk per pound of body weight. I wish you the best.

How often do you deworm your Katahdin sheep? Do you use the FAMACHA test?

Great Info! My plan is to have the same type sheep as you raise. I was noticing the fencing you ran. Is that a particular brand of fencing? It seemed you were running multiple strands from one reel.

Do you need to castrate if you plan on butchering them in the fall at around 9 months of age.

Consider installing a Screech Owl nest box. Owls eat rodents which host ticks and attract pit vipers.
