Yes and that storyline saved the season for me. I gave up watching ad a kid because it didn't hit the same as any of the previous seasons. During my rewatch as an adult, the season was literally boring until the space rangers made a cameo then all of the Kendrix/Karone storyline started happening.
this is definitely one of the best seasons. Kendrix's death and Karone's redemption arc was so well written, had me 100% invested to til the finale.
First time they killed off a power ranger. Thought Mike died but maga defender saved him.
In my opinion, this season is more of an epilogue to the zordon era, since we have some returning characters, like carone and alpha, we see what's going on with Bulk etc.
And some plot points, like pshyco rangers, conclude here
Agreed. I felt like this was the true ending of the Zordon era because of those elements. Once the next Season arrived it kicked off its own story

@@kazuhirala Um dude, its in the name, "Post Zordon Era" I mean by using that logic then Dino Thunder is also a sucessor to the Zordon Era or hell even Mystic force if you want to go that far.
Lost Galaxy is a transitional season because it keeps some of the familiar stuff for older fan like Alpha, Bulk & Professor Phenomenus, Karone, and Astro Megaship. While still being accessible for people who this might be their first season. Like with Karone, they did a fine job of explaining her past as Astronema that even if you never watched In Space you would not be lost.
Bulk didn't have much of a role this season. Sometimes you wouldn't even see him in the opening and other times you would which was confusing.

Not to be confused with Scorpina, a human villain who wears a facehugger as a hat.
I remember being extremely emotional when Morgan sacrificed herself since it was the first time we had a Ranger die. And when she was brought back to life I legit cried happy tears. Knowing the behind the scenes story now about what was going on with the actress just makes the memory even more meaningful to me.
I love when Karone went from being evil to becoming the pink power ranger. Anyone can change their live.
I wish Netflix still had this series on the streaming. I loved rewwatching the series from the beginning since I only watched the Manga Defender episodes when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing this!

I think Scorpius was like Tracena, half humanoid/half insect before going through the transformation cocoon like Tracena did near the end of the season. So it is possible he was able to couple with Tracena's mother before his accession to power.

This is a season where I actually love all the rangers equally. Usually I have a particular favorite or two with each team but something about the Galaxy Rangers just hit that sweet spot for me

I saw the movie. Was a good movie.
One of my favorite seasons. And I heard it had the largest budget out of all of them. One UA-camr said that the over-arching theme of the season is about sacrifice. If you look at the rangers, they each made a sacrifice. Mike sacrificed his life twice. Mya's world was sacrificed, regrettably. Kai nearly sacrificed his career to save Terra Venture from falling into a star. Damon risked his life to give the enemy engineering help so they would spare innocents. Kendrix--well, we all know what. And my man Leo, nearly destroyed himself to finish off Trakeena.
For that season finale, it probably wouldn't be played these days with the younger. post 9/11 audience. Oh, and one episode was like a horror movie. It was like the James Camoren's Alien.

To be fair, while it's the first stand alone season, it's also somewhat of an epilogue to the Mighty Morphin seasons, making it extra special.
The team up episodes " to the 10th power & and " the power of pink " are in my top 3 of best power rangers team up episodes .
Aaah, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy a.k.a. the reason why the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog show got cancelled and didn't get Season 2: Battle Thunder after its budget went to Lost Galaxy instead.
That sucks. Mystic Knights was awesome. They should bring that back. I'd watch it.

This was a video. Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy was one of my favorite seasons. The whole cast was terrific and storylines were incredible. It was a little sad to find out that they killed off Kendra, but when Melody Perkins returned to Karona. That was a wonderful surprise, because it allowed a redemption arc to form.
Anyways, thanks so much for creating this great video. I really enjoyed it and learned some great info on one of my favorite seasons.
This season broke grounds and pushed the limit when they killed off kendriks it wasn’t my favorite season but I still watched it and when it happened I cried I still do thinking about it in my opinion lost galaxy paved the way for the modern era of power rangers as we know it today thank god for that season and god bless Valerie Vernon for being so strong and getting better I was a sick kid growing up and power rangers helped me fight my way through most of it and hearing about about a power ranger actor dealing with a real sickness and bouncing back gave me even more strength to fight to get better god bless power rangers and all the actors and production ppl involved without them we would never have such a beloved thing that has stood the test of time and helped up believe in ourselves and inspire us
When Lost Galaxy aired i was at first confused because with Zordon's tube destryoed, every evil villain in the universe should've vanished and then Scorpius and his henchmen came along. But i really enjoyed this season and Kendrix was my second favourite Pink Ranger after Kimberly. And Leo... he was a really great Red Ranger. Also the final battle against the mutated Trakeena was awesome. I think, it was the first time, we saw a Ranger Suit real damaged.
Valid but Zordon could have exaggerate his energy wave distance or not know his limits until it was too late and Saban at the time was worried In Space was the end of Power Rangers forever
I always assumed Scorpius was an extra dimensional alien who was not subject to Zordon
I'm still wondering how the hell evil still existed after Zordon's death, and when I was little I was just straight pissed off that they undid Zordon's sacrifice like that.
@@princessmaly Dino Thunder was smart and made its villain new on the scene. RPM was man made, and in an alternate universe. Not sure how long Grom from S.P.D was around. Time Force's villain was from the future.
Took me awhile to get into lost galaxy because I didn't know the characters. This was the first time they changed the whole cast.
I really would love to see another season of power rangers set in space since we haven't had a season set in space since lost galaxy .

Wow, This season came out in what ‘98 & ‘99? To not have a Space season is bizarre to be honest. There really hasn’t been any?
@@kazuhirala Nope . There hasn't been a space season since lost galaxy which came out in 99 .
Problem is - none of the Sentai really did that. Space and Lost Galaxy did that for the American version, but neither sentai series was spaced based.
The only 1 of recent series - Uchu Sentai Kyuranger was 'space' theme, as most of the characters came from different planets. They were also call backs to earlier sentai tropes. This was the 2017 series, which took place before what we now have as 'Dino Fury'.
And technically SPD was 'space' themed - I mean its SPACE Patrol Delta. They did have some space battles, but... it was more cop themed than true space.
@@SimpleGeekReviews Will actually SPD wasn’t space theme. SPD is base on Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger a cop theme series. In Dekaranger SPD stood for Special Police Dekaranger. I think in the US they were just looking for to replace l “Special” with and space is what they chose.
He quotes the producer that they didn't have a logical explanation for Scorpius fathering Trakeena. He fathered her before he used the transformation chamber to become a literal monster. It's not that hard when they memtioned the thing right in the show. I figured it out immediately when they first mentioned it. I don't see how a producer on the show missed a detail that was right in the script and aired.
Valerie Vernon is the reason I have a thing for blonde hair and glasses. Had a HUGE crush on Kendrix as a kid.

Fun fact Valerie didn't want to wear the glasses at first but a kid come up to her and tell her he was afraid to wear glasses but she wear them he wasn't scared anymore so she kept the glasses
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy is my favorite Power Rangers series and it was a perfect followup to Space which I loved so much. The Magna Defender arc was the best part of the series because it started out as a revenge plot, but turned into a redemption story and I still count Magna Defender as a 6th ranger when Mike came back. Leo was awesome as the Red Ranger and it was amazing watching him grow as a leader. Kendrix's death was very emotional for me as it was the first time I saw a ranger get killed in battle.
Fun fact - the suit for General Furio is actually based on Dr. Hineral from Denji Sentai Megaranger (the sentai counterpart to Power Rangers in Space)
Lost Galaxy and In Space are definitely my favorite seasons after the original Power Rangers. Kept up with the show until the end of the time cop season, but caught the forever red dead redemption episode even though i didn't watch wild force. Hell of a saga really.
The way they wrote out the pink ranger and the reason deserves so much respect!
In Space was written as if that were to be the last season in the franchise. They weren't sure if Power Rangers would continue after In Space

Maya.. what a babe. Also I loved the sets in Lost Galaxy. The Sci Fi feel from being in space always complemented the rangers to me so well.

Possible/Probable Fun Fact for Archie Kao, and it's a long one so I'm sorry.
I've been waiting for this episode so badly! I was just a kid when I watched power rangers so most of the lore and cannon was jumbled across the many seasons that were on as re-runs at the time. But it was the only 'Action Show' my grandma would let me watch as a kid when she baby sat, and that wasn't an accident.
The story from my family goes as follows, and I can't verify it as Archie Kao's wiki page doesn't reference and I have no way to contact and verify this so I only have family stories, but there are quite a few little stories and too much corroborating evidence.
According to Family Sources (Some of which have passed and I'm running off some old memories here, so bear with me!)
Apparently when Archie's mom moved to the US*, she wasn't able to financially support her son, so she put Archie into the foster care program as she looked for a job. My grandparents Ron and Joan, had many foster kids as my grandma loved kids, and Archie was one of them. My grandparents referred to him as "Sunny" for his bright and positive attitude.
When his mother got her legs under her, she took Archie out of foster care, but she kept in touch with my grandparents! I believe he was a foster child for less than one year. Archie's mom even invited my grandparents and their kids over for dinner on (what I believe to be) a few occasions. My dad, and especially my uncle remember Archie telling them which traditional Chinese dishes they should and should NOT try. Some dishes like "Tea Eggs", a hard boiled egg soaked in star anise to taste like black licorice, my family still makes today because of this.
Even after my family moved, I do remember as a kid (who often spent summer time with my grandparents) my grandparents getting a card from "Sunny's mother" about what new and exciting things both families were up to.
This also led to my grandparents following Archie's career into CSI (and possibly other shows, but my grandma would sit down every night to see if "Archie was on" this was even long after he departed the show, I believe. I don't know the last time they would have gotten a letter from Archie's mom, and my grandparents have passed so there goes my contact to that story.
But this is WHY my grandma let me watch power rangers, and subsequently this channel!
Also, if someone would happen to have a connection to verify this let me know!
Always wondered why did they reuse the starship troopers military uniform was it due to budget or was it on purpose as a little Easter egg or what just wondering always made me wonder as a kid

I wonder how much of the season was inspired by Starship Troopers. With the whole bug villain element and the main villain looked like the brain bug in Starship Troopers, not to mention the fact that they recycle the soldier armor from Starship Troopers. This is one of the best epilogue seasons. Easily one of the best seasons period.
Power Rangers lost galaxy is one of my favorite Power Rangers teams. I love that their power comes from quasar sabers. I would love to see more seasons from team.

I always was such a fan of in space an lost galaxy even to this day cause of course we all love mighty morphing but next to it space an lost galaxy just went to a whole new level an amazing story lines for both an great villains
I would have thought that the green ranger would have ended up with the beautiful scientist in real life instead of the gorgeous scorpion queen who tried to kill him and his friends.This is one of my favorite series.

I just watched the recent team up with the beast morphers, dino thunder and MMPR. Team ups aren't like they used to be. Lost galaxy and In Space had awesome crossovers.
Lost Galaxy,time force, and lightspeed rescue r my all time favorite power rangers seasons to bad the show peaked after RPM
Lost Galaxy is also where the music took a huge dive in the show. Theme was great, but the rest really didn't live up to Space.

It because the original plot for the storyline was supposed to have Cassie remain on Terra Venture and take Kendrix's place as the Pink Lost Galaxy Ranger. Unfortunately, Patricia Ja Lee had conflicts with the producers.

Does the PR Visual Guidebook talk at all about the drama with Danny and Amy? Or was that all technically during the season of Lightspeed Rescue? I know there were issues there since Amy didn’t come back for that, and then Danny originally refused to come back for Forever Red.

My 2 most nostalgic seasons are next!! Lightspeed & Time Force was peak Power Rangers for me as a kid born alittle late for the Zordon era
This is the season that lost me as a kid. I've since gone back and watched it in full as an adult and appreciate it much more now, but I hated EVERYTHING about it as a kid. It just wasn't my Power Rangers anymore.
I felt the EXACT same way.
It is the first season of Power Rangers where the power rangers were adults and not high schoolers.
I'm just getting around to watching all the seasons and what I liked about Kendrix was that she was a smart character. As a kid, i only saw Karone as the pink ranger between me switching channels. Unfortunately, I had stopped watching when Turbo started because.., well because it was Turbo. lol

They took the best way to replace the pink ranger.BIG FIGHT, sacrifice and the old/new Astronema. Great choices
I think this was the last season I watched religiously.
I didn’t need to watch week by week to see what my favorite rangers would do. There were new rangers. And I had other things I wanted to watch and read. Plus I was getting older. Damn teens…
