When you flipped to Rhino III I checked how much of the video was left and thought "I guess he's losing this one then", and then that final turn demolishing blew me away haha! Just cracked my core set open yesterday and watching a couple of your playthroughs has really helped me get up and running with the rules extremely quickly, thanks so much!
@James Baker Once Tony goes full Iron Man, he can dish out A LOT of damage!! Hope you enjoy your copy and glad I was able to help get you playing quickly!! :)
Thanks! Mistakes will happen, and as a solo-player, I don't have anyone else to keep me in line during play ... but I do try to correct if possible, or place a note if I catch it during editing. I'm hoping an official FAQ comes out soon by Fantasy Flight Games as there are some clarifications needed, especially concerning play with Ultron from what I've seen about timing. But I'm really enjoying this game!!
I really really love your videos. I watch’em all! Clear speaking (very useful for not mother tongue like me), very good way to explain the game, no serious mistakes... thanks a lot! great job! Cheers from Italy! 🇮🇹
I like watching these older videos Dale. It makes me want to try using some of the core set hero's on the newer campaign's to see how well they still stand up. Ironman is still one of my favorites.
Great play through, will definitely watch more of your videos, question, can one thwart with Iron Man's helmet when your hero is confused (26:30), or with any upgrade i.e. deal damage with an attack upgrade/attachment when hero is stunned etc.? Should it not remove the confused/stunned status first seeing that it is an thwart/attack action on upgrade?
ANTON DELPORT Thanks!! And oops! You are correct. IronMan cheated! ;) Being stunned or confused does impact cards that attack or stun. I missed it, sorry for the confusion.
Not to add to the insult or anything, but the helmet also removes 1 threat from each scheme if he has the aerial trait, not 2 threat from one scheme. Luckily it didn't affect gameplay, though.
I worked on your next oldest video from this one (BP / Prot and She-Hulk / Agg vs standard Rhino) till I beat it 3 time in a row, though I made some deck modifications. I sat down to see the set up for my next “copy Dale’s setup” challenge, and wow! This escalated quickly! We are going to expert mode and expert 3 cards! I’ll see how it turns out for me
On the last turn, were you not supposed to first KO the Hydra mercenary before doing any damage to Rhino with Cap Marvel? Anyway, that changed nothing in the final result with that huge amount of damage! I liked this last turn because Rhino was doing an incredibly dangerous charge, with at least 10 damage coming. I guess you were guarding War Machine as an armour of 4 points, in case of need! 🤣🤣🤣 Well, thematically I like to think that Heroes and allies put their last forces to slow and take Rhino down. Epic!
Thanks for watching! The "Guard" ability only effects the Hero it is engaged with, so Captain Marvel was free to punch Rhino around ... Iron Man was the only one that had to deal with the Guard. Hope that helps. And yes, when dealing with Rhino, it's good to keep some health on an ally ... just in case! :)
Question that’s not on thus video, when you get the expert card “Under Fire” that says surge. When revealed: reveal the top card of the encounter deck. Question: And do what, just look at it or play it? Seems like just a double surge?
It is, you get two additional cards. There are cards that cancel when revealed effects, so potentially you could just get the surge ... and then there are better cards that cancel everything on the card. So hope your hero has that one. ;) Hope that helps, and good luck! :)
Hi thanks for posting your games, it really helps learning how to play. We are trying to get into this game but are confused by the fact that you can top up your hand at the end of your go, why then and not at the beginning of your next go? Can you use any of these cards in the villain phase. .?
@Mark Tizard Some characters and aspects can play during the villain phase. Protection has several cards, and Black Widow does a lot of her stuff during the villain phase. Along with the villain potentially having you discard cards. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
I really love these playthroughs, thank you! Do you ever post a playthrough where you do not win? Winning just seems effortless to you, when I have lost more than my share. I am really just learning the game, so I am sure my play is less than ideal. Anyway, thanks again!
@Mark Spitzig Thanks for watching and becoming a member! Very much appreciated! :) I've got 2 or 3 losses somewhere posted, of course one was against Klaw using Heroic 3 just to see how bad it could go ... and it went bad. When I first started playing, I would practice before recording, so I missed some opportunities to show some horrible losses ... like losing 1st turn against Rhino using Iron Man, I only got one upgrade and chose to stay Alger-Ego to draw 6 instead of 2 cards. Rhino schemed, and then Advance! for the 1st turn loss. More recently, I record every play, but choose my fights wisely. Starting with Standard and then work my way to Expert. That way I learn how the hero plays before really putting them to the test. Now in my play group, we were probably 50/50 before, but after going through these campaigns, we are learning to work better as a group. Hope that helps, and good luck in your games!!
@bryan weezenbeek Thanks for watching! Your upgrades are "extra actions" and work no matter what power you use for your hero. Hope that helps, and good luck! :)
so you can put into play a card that has a "hero action" ability if you are in alter-ego status? the person who taught me made it sound like I couldn't but I may have misunderstood. He may have just meant I cannot use it if I do play it.
@@DaletheCasualGamer It does. But as my cards are packed away, does the side scheme have a success condition? Such as damage to hero or bonuses to Villain or such?
I’m new to the game and watching air to make sure I’m playing correctly. Just a question at the 11:55 mark. Rhino is stunned and you just took away the effect card without drawing an attack. Is that what you do? Even though he can’t attack you due to stun does it not still burn one of rhinos cards in his deck?
@adam Valentino. Welcome to Marvel Champions! The card is a boost effect for the attack, so if the attack is ignored, no card is needed. Hope that helps and good luck! :)
Thank you for the quick reply. Just 1 more question. When you exhaust your deck, you trigger a encounter card. In your video you drew the encounter, finished filling your deck to the amount Ironman is allowed and waited till the end of the villain faze to determine that encounter card. Should it not be resolved right away, before you even draw the rest of your cards?
Can you for example use the ability on the identity card in hero form, then switch to alter ego form and use that ability as well in the same round? For instance, iron man's alter ego ability? As I'm confused when it says limit to one round.
@Sascha Kleiber Thanks for watching. I've put a couple in there, but will try to start putting my deck lists in there for new plays. marvelcdb.com/user/profile/3977/dalethecasualgamer
Still new here and wording is tricky in this game, but i have been spending resources in a particular order to make sure a mental lands on top of my discard pile, at which point i use pepper potts to generate said mental resource to activate my rocket boots. It has worked really well and i have been able to do alot of damage this way but i discussed it with a friend and we feel it may not be right?? Plz help thank you.. also great playthroughs, i subbed and look forward to more marvel champions!
Great video! One question if iron man is exhausted can he still use his gear? Just seems like if he is exhausted he wouldn’t be abel to use his gear or am I completely wrong ?
@T PA Yes, and I feel safe in saying a couple are online. When I first started playing, I would practice with each deck before recording ... and that cost me not recording a loss that I wish I had recorded. First turn loss with Iron-Man against Rhino I in standard mode. I remember only drawing into one tech upgrade and thought, I can survive one round before turning over ... He schemed for 4 and then the encounter card ... Advance! for 3 ... GAME OVER! Now I typically always record when playing solo, so unless I make a huge mistake, it will get posted ... so I've chosen my fights wisely, and been lucky. As a "Casual Gamer" I do only play Standard and Expert and don't delve into Heroic mode (unless I'm feeling a bit insane). I play to relax, not panic. :) Hope that helps, and good luck!
Iron Man is not an upgrade. If you have a time-stamp, let me know. When counting, I count his card as 1 (as that is his hand size), and then each upgrade as a +1.
Unique allies are allowed 1 per deck, but you could not have multiple of the same unique character in play at the same time. Hope that helps and happy gaming!
@Jeff Voss They are UberStax and for purchasing information check out www.uberstax.com . I use them with most of my games and next to sleeves, is my most used gaming accessory. I also did a video highlighting them at ua-cam.com/video/HBNRANBuKS4/v-deo.html . Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
It doesn't say you HEAL with the +6.... Just that you GET 6 more hit points above you original. You don't HEAL because it doesn't say to HEAL you need to recover to get it up to 15...... Tsk tsk dale
Once the card is played, you add the +6 health to your dial, same as playing Endurance, you immediately add the 3 health to your character. It's actually like putting on armor, it immediately provides the bonus protection. Check "Gets" in the rules reference. Hope that helps and happy gaming.

Dale is the goat, the best straightforward playthrough videos. Would love to see you play some Arkham Horror LCG.
That final captain marvel turn was 🔥 👏 great playthrough!!

Excellent play through, the damage output in the last turn was huge and you could have easily dealt a dozen or so more if necessary, great game.
Thanks! Captain Marvel and Iron Man can definitely put out some damage with a little set up. :)
Ok I made it to the end and this is the best playthrough on ytb ever. love it.
Thanks!! Much appreciated!
Well played! Thanks for sharing. I like Hawkeye a lot as well. Nice to get 2 hits on a minion when they first come out.
There are some good allies in the Leadership aspect, along with ways to bring them back out again! :)
Hey Dale, are you gonna upload a newer video play through soon? It has been about 6 months and your play throughs are always fun to watch.
Thank you again for taking the time to do these playthroughs. So helpful to a newbie like me. Much appreciated!
My pleasure! Glad they have helped. I'm really enjoying the game, and there is a lot to keep track of, so have fun! :)
Thanks for the video

Iron Man is very confident ... even though it takes a while to put his suit on. ;)

you can do actions and events during your passive turn. You cannot flip or use basic attack thwart if its the other player's turn.
Correct! Also Hero or Alter-Ego actions cannot be used on other players turns.
@@DaletheCasualGamer I guess they can. Cannot Carol Danvers use her draw a card in other player's turn?
This game looks so good
That’s because it is so good. :)

@Vish Ganti. I’d recommend whichever hero you like best! I’m a Captain America fan and enjoy using him. Who is your favorite Avenger?

4:40 Does the threat from Breakin and Takin add together with the threat from the main scheme to try and reach the 7/player needed for Rhino to win?
No, threat on side schemes are just for themselves. Hope that helps and happy gaming!

Make that 2 rules learnt in 2 minutes. Discarding the Obligation when it is resolved
So you are supposed to draw a boost card for attach and scheme even off additional encounter cards?
Yes. Whenever the villain attacks or schemes, a boost card is drawn. Good luck!
I didn’t realize that either. My poor heroes! Lol
Hi Dale, another great video and another rule learnt. Didn’t k ow about the extra encounter card when your Hero deck runs out
Glad these are helping! Good luck in your games! :)
This rule is written in the reference guide, not in the rulebook. I learnt it watching a playthrough video too. 🙂
