Greetings and thank you to each musician for this overwhelmingly emotional and emotionally charged evocative performance. The spirit and elegance of Schubert is everywhere in this room for every minute of this performance. I give profound thanks to you who perform so beautifully and to Maestro Schubert who graces humanity with this creation.
For many great musicians, this Quintet is the summit of occidental music. This is an other good rendition of this "opera magna". Thanks from Chile, a long strip of land between Pacific Ocean and Andes Mountains.
Thank you for this masterly performance of this somewhat introspective and darker chamber piece. Despite that, Schubert is always reassuring that something is still wonderful about humanity in this weary old world it seems to want to destroy. .

Phantastic!! The recording seems rather "direct" (microphones rather close to the musicians and maybe very well amplified), so that's very very demanding to the players. And it doesn't do any damage here, since they simply play heavenly. Listen to the many colors, variations of vibrato, broad dynamics... It's a delight in all aspects.
This string quintet is great music and specially I like the Adagio at 21:00. Schubert must have been very content writing this almost heavenly quintet. Thanks to Amaryllis Quartet and Jens Peter Maintz for wonderful playing.
@@luisdiazlopez3712 Thank you for answering, yes, this is great. And yes, I know about the landler even if Im from Sweden. A wonderful way of ending this sorrowful music with this landler.
I see that, in the first movement, the loud dominant 7th chord leading back to the second time exposition is omitted going into the development, though it is written in: I'm sure this is correct (having also produced a recording of this great work) and have always felt that this is usually played by mistake. A wonderful performance..
The last note of the final movement is has a long diminuendo-like sign as is often the case in Schubert's last years' pieces. Amadeus Quartet with Rostorpovitch uses a clear diminuendo on the note. This performance doesn't do so much but still used a discernible tapering. I think it is right if it comes from Shubert's feeling of his life ending moment.
Some say it's a shame young people don't recognize beautiful music. I would say the situation is much worse. They have been taught not to believe in objective beauty. If not objective beauty, then ....several premises....you end up with someone peeing in a cup and putting a cross in it and calling it serious art.
0:30 Allegro ma non troppo
21:00 Adagio
34:45 Scherzo: Presto - Andante sostenuto
44:35 Allegro

So romantic, passionate, and dynamic. It's the best performed one of this work I've ever met.

Agreed. After hearing dozens of performances, old and new, this is the best!!!
Our nation in decline!!! That this is the joke music.... :(
Splendida musica ed esecuzione perfetta e commovente

Congratulations to all musicians. It was a delightful and very well performance! Bravo!!!
Best rendition of this iconic work I've heard in my 50 years of listening. Bravo

He was living his last days and he knew it. It is a very dramatic work, but it has a light of hope, his end is a landler, a sort of of waltz.

Einfach wunderbar!
Magnífico excelente maravilhoso
The sublties become the major thing at this level. Heavenly.
Subtilties like what sounds like a very short rit. the second violin plays at 7:55 ish.
And what does rit. do? It makes it ambiguous exactly where 1 is for that measure. Keeping things slightly out of balance.
Fuer mich eines seiner schoensten Werke.Herrlich der Cellopart
Their performances are nothingshort of amazing

2nd cello on the right - a less common configuration, tho it seems the obvious one so that the 3 inner voices in the slow movement sit together
❤
Is it me or is the 1st violin too quiet? Especially with respect to the 2nd?
This is something I noticed in several of my favorite performances

desgarrador...
