The idea is cool, especially for people with mobility issues, but the execution. . . Well, I'm not worried about AI taking over for nail artists anytime soon 😂

Problem: this falls into the same bin as every other "would be great for disabled people, *but* " product. It's _heinously_ overpriced for us. I struggle with muscle jerks while painting my nails, and often have to go back to clean up overpainting. I don't exactly have an extra $250 to blow on something like this, and if I did... I'd just go to a professional manicurist LOL

@@Menoetia Oh for sure! It's horribly expensive for what it currently does. I guess maybe the thought is that it would be cheaper long term if it actually worked? Might be good for people with social anxiety too. I could never justify the current price and outcome though.

I do design and engineering work on machines like this, and I can spot the problem: the brush stays vertical and only moves up and down. Nails aren’t perfectly flat, so it’s not physically possible for it to cover the whole nail surface evenly if at all. In its current form, it will never be a replacement for a human hand.
If it worked well it would save money in the long run over regular manicures - even at $500 to $1000. They should’ve charged a bit more and given the brush head a rotational axis so it could follow the contours of the nail.
Also they need to REALLY work on the quality of the brushes and the atrocious amount of wasted polish.
I wish it worked, but I’m not confident in this company’s ability to follow through with long-term development needed to make that actually happen. The reviews aren’t inspiring confidence in sales numbers for version 2, if there is one.

For sure they should rethink this and make it with gel. Instead of a fan it would be a gel led curing lamp! And for sure figure out the finger spacing and scanning.
I was thinking the same thing. Gel would be better but when I saw what a terrible job it does painting the nails I thought what a nightmare it would be to get the gel off. It’s a really cool idea but it needs quite a bit of perfecting. And all that lint or whatever it is😬
I was really baffled when they _didn't_ choose gel honestly. But I see why: if the bot messes up regular polish (which i no doubt will) you can clean it up easier...
I was thinking about that too, but with the execution having gel seems kinda 'dangerous' (thinking of allergies and what not). Imagine it getting on your skin or flooding your cuticles and then having the UV cure it... Even with a better painting algorithm it seems a bit iffy using something like gel.
Cured gel would be so bad if it floods the cuticle
That would be super dangerous because you don’t want uncured gel on your skin nor do you want it curing onto your skin.

It's not a new background. Her nail desk was too small so they set up in another room in her house. I guess you missed her saying that.

Wow I saw Simplynailogical use the same machine on a livestream and your results were identical 💀 even more discouraging since two different people’s nails went in and came out questionable.
Might get better results using an air fryer (and it would take up less space too) 😂

28:45 the lint, I think it was actually from your prep, your thumb nail has it before you painted it. I’m so glad you do the things before we do so we can see along with you. I love even just listening while doing other things. Thank you so much!!!
I noticed this too, the machine is definitely still highly questionable 😅, but the lint is from the prep it’s probably cotton from cotton rounds or cotton balls
I have been saying that u only see the lint after she uses cotton on her nail.
There was another thing like this you got i remember. I dont think these things will ever take place of a beautiful freehand artistically painted nail set❤

The time it takes really isn’t a selling point for me. We can do gel in just a few minutes. The quality of the paint job isn’t a seller either. :)

The lint is from your polish remover pads! It was stuck to your fingers in some of the shots before you'd put them in the machine. The application still sucked lol but at least the lint wasnt their fault.

That is an awesome step stool for the bathroom for a toddler to step up to be tall and wash their hands. You were so sweet and funny during the demo. There was so much lint or hair in the polish I started wondering, where you stick the food? I'm worried about the poor, stressed-out imp trapped inside the machine named AI that has been losing their fur trying to get 3 coats of polish on nails in 55 minutes. AI must have the shakes for the finish to look so messy. Save the imps!
