Tried their new inov8 trailfly. I love it. Ive ran in Saucony and Altra before. The sauconys had a good drop 8mm but too narrow toe box. Altra had an amazing toe box but I dont like the zero drop. Its a good compromise I think alot of people would appreciate.
I use the Inov8 Trailfly g 270 v2 and love them. All ways got injured when I tried to get into running and I'd give up. This time around it's been nearly at a full year with no problems. I guess zero drop suits me. I'll have to get some road shoes I might look at those zero drop ones you showed.
just ordered them at 88 euros1 Cant wait to try them out. U and Sagasu Running made me buy them (to kinda "counter" my Superblasts^^). Nice review, thanks!
I'm excited about these as I'm a huge fan of Inov-8 trail runners but they didn't have anything really exciting for road running. I'll definitely be picking up a pair of these when they release.
Once Ive sorted my correct size in the Trailfly I will definitely be picking these up. The Trailfly fit me narrow in midfoot and short in length fyi. So tried my normal 10uk(a bit short and narrow), 10.5uk(pretty much identical in size to 10) and 11 (too long). Have now ordered 10.5wide and hope 4th times the charm!😅 Inov8 claim these have been designed for uneven roads, which here in rural West of England there are plenty! Seems crazy running in shoes like Novablast and Superblast in these back lanes when I cant really get into my stride. I need grip, stability and just a bit of cushioning. Nice one Inov8.
@@TomUK7 I suppose it’ll be worth it when you nail down the sizing correctly. Glad to hear they’re going to work well for you (once you actually get them). Yeah, a lot of those Nova/Supernlast-type shoes really only excel in very smooth and even ground.
I use inov-8 shoes for trail running (TerraUltra 270), road to trail (parkclaw 280), hiking (Roclite 400 & 345) and gym work (f-lite 260). Apart from some issues regarding waterproofing on the hiking boots they've all been excellent and I'm looking forward to trying out the roadfly range when it's available from the website.
The boomerang footbed is a whopping 35 grams in my uk size 9. Ive got a few pairs of their trail shoes and the fit is perfect. If they were just a little bit lighter
Yes, I think they would work well for walking. They're definitely comfortable enough! There is also a good amount of outsole rubber, so they should last a while. I find I wear down my shoes faster when I walk in them.
Low drop or zero drop is perfect offroad etc because that is how we evolved. However we did not evolve to run on pavements.. I need 6-8mm real drop for the road. Of course drop is dynamic depending on where you land and how soft the midsole is..
Yes, these would certainly work well for walking, and very comfortable. There is also a lot of oursole rubber, so they'll likely last a while. I often find that walking in shoes puts more wear on the outsole than running does.

Good to hear you've been on such a long stretch without injury! Yeah, it could be that zero drop works best for you!

@@MaxPiefke Nice! €88 sounds like a good deal! I’d love to hear your thoughts after a few runs if you think of it!
Where did you find them at that price @maxpiefke?

Try choosing your true to size in Euro sizing… seems to work for me.

@@pete801 Yeah, weight is usually something we can ding shoes on. At least they’ve got room for improvement!
Do you think it would be a good option for long walks on concrete? Seems like a good combo of toe box, drop and padding level for that use.

Have been waiting for Innov-8 to get into the road marketshoe market.
Now’s the time! Expect a few more coming out soon! 👊🏽

@@i.p2088 It seems a lot of runners forget that drop is dynamic and could even differ for different people.
Would these be good for daily walking shoes? I have running shoes but prefer my everyday shouts to be 6mm or lower stack and wide toe box.

Had one and only pair of Inov-8 that caused me PF. I don't recall the model. This was 10 years ago. I blocked it out of my mind.
There's only one chance to make a first impression.🤷🏻♂
