Sticky traps... Had a mouse in a sticky trap once and it was screeching holy hell so I thought "shit, I'd better kill this thing quick." It didn't die until 5 bashes. I still hear the screams.
The broom thing is almost definitely better than the sticky traps. Sticky traps mean slow death by starvation or poisoning or suffocation while one broom beat is a quick death. We sometimes get mice and occasionally get rats in the house and they're so huge that we have to get them in these rabbit size cages (one of the rats we caught was about a foot long, not including the tail, and huge) and once they're in there we drop them in water and drown them.

It's pretty simple, you get those plug in noise things for rodents that you put in your wall and it hurts their ears and they run away, more of a humane way of getting rid of rodents without blinding them and hitting then with a broom.

Ok, the move is .22 ratshot, preferably out of a pistol maneuverability. If you don't wanna pony up for an actual gun, the pressure is low enough that you can just a zipgun pretty safely as long as you use quality tubing.
