Man, I just went through this two weeks ago. I wish I would’ve waited because your steps were a little easier than how I did it. I’ve got to do my door glass and that intimidates me. I’m pretty sure my passenger side had that little piece that you referenced.
great video that helped me on my 66's quarter windows, I had to remove mine to gain access to the quarter panel mouldings, I'm making access holes in the metal slider to make r&r easier for the next poor bastard that needs to remove the mouldings, Lol Thanks again for the video
It's the same procedure on the 65-66. Someone decided to modify my regulators with those same ends as well. They are real easy to take out when the quarter panels are off. :)
Jo Daddy to the rescue. I'm replacing the striped side fins on my 67 coupe with shelby scoops, and the only way to get to them is by taking the window assembly out. I hope it turns out as easy as you make it look. Thanks.
I didn't remove the felt weatherstrip on the outer quarter lip when I removed the driver's side quarter window. As a result, I scratched the sh*t out of the chrome and stainless window frame and the glass still wouldn't come out. In the Body Assembly Manual, available through various aftermarket Mustang suppliers, there are instructions on how to adjust the window, as it was done at the assembly line.
It would be interesting to go back in time to the Ford factory and see how these windows were installed and how quickly they got it done. One would think that this would be a bottle neck in the assembly line process of things. Iam sure with repetition they got pretty good at it . Never the less it just had to be time consuming ....they aint easy to install .
TOO FUNNY !!! Yes, would rather build an engine, get a root canal, etc than play with the windows (front OR rear) yet, I have done both with success. But you have to ask yourself for the guys that did it at the factory, there had to be a fast step by step way because there is no way they could spend the time I have messing with these monsters - frankly I think the door glass is worse ! Thanks for the video sir !!!
See, not that bad right ???? Unless you're like me and took them apart over a year and a half ago... but they do only go in one way. Way easier to paint with them out though... 👍
Wanted to ask you jo daddy’s garage on ur 1965 mustang does ur window index down when u open the door and when u close the doors does the window index back up it does on my grandpas convertible
I may have missed it if you said before, but what color are you going to paint. I have a 67 sedan and original color is "Clear Water Aqua". I know in 68 they called it something different, but curious if that is your color?
Is this mechanism the same as on a 1966? It looks the same. We are working on a 1966 and trying to find a replacement track guide but can't find one anywhere. Only 1967 listed on websites. Are they the same?
I have a 68 gas back. But I sure enjoined this video. I like your 20-30 vids. Thank you.
This makes me glad I have a fastback but still good information for the future.
Thank you from Australia.
My 69 convert in peices as my mate helping me do back rear driver quarter in hospital..great advice..thanking you again..

When you re-install the windows you need to do the alignment from the front vent to the quarter glass. I found this a bit of a challenge. Good Luck!
hi barry thr look geen not blue now . the car looking very good .
Thanks for the video.
I plan to work on mine this weekend. 1968 Coupe GT
Thanks! Made things very easy for me.
you can pull those out without pulling the rollers btw.

Thanks for sharing this. I need to replace all the weather stripping on my 67.

As always thank you for the great info.
This is exactly what I needed. I Cant get the quarter window in my 67 to roll up.
All old grease gets dry and hard. My monaco quarter windows have been a real bear!
Any comments on where I can get quarter windows for a 67 convertible. I ordered from mustang distributor but never arrived.
I might have a lead
See, not that bad right ????

No. That’s a power window thing in modern cars.
Do you think it would be possible to remove the regulator but keep the window in? Would it fall out the same?
That would be difficult.
@ lol, user error. I managed to get it rolled up. There was a screw blocking the window from rolling up that I put in earlier.
was that 600 wet or dry sanded
wet
