- Fresh from Liverpool agreeing a £45m swoop to sign Diogo Jota from Wolves, The Agenda is here for a special podcast to react to the second deal of an incredible day of transfer business at Anfield.
Jota, 23, will sign a five-year contract after Liverpool agreed an initial fee of £41m with the Molineux outfit which could rise to £45m.

If you think about it, firmino joined first, then sadio came a year later before mo arrived. So I feel like there's a similarity here with how minamino arrived at January and now jota. I feel like next season there'll a successor to salah too. They're at similar age as well with sadio and mo at 28 while bobby at 29. The same here with jota 24 and taki at 25.

with hoever going the other way (which is a shame to lose such a young talented player) the fee only comes to roughly £32m which makes it a pretty good signing really, now the gap in quality between the backup attackers has been bridged atleast.

@@liverpoolvseverybody3257 Its because the transfer fees will also affect other future signings if needed. If you spend a lot on a player now you might have to pass up on important future signings due to high transfer fees. Liverpool dont have an unlimited amount of money.

Been reading comments so for those wondering why Jota over Werner. Jota was only 5m upfront, much lower wages, less expectation of being in the first team immediately, etc.
Basically I think 10m was added on to the price because Wolves allowed us to pay for Jota over a long period and with so little money up front.
I think 30-35m would've been a more realistic price but with the deal we got I think an extra 10m is fine. Plus if you don't trust Klopp by now then what could I possibly say that'd convince you?

Nice player. Good pressing, good in transition, good in possession, ball carrier, goal threat, good in small spaces. Young, and looks like he’s about to leap to the next level.

Jurgen Klopp makes the difference is signing Jota and Tiago in a day or two, particularly both are fantastic players who wasted no time in Joong a club who can offer challenges and w/o hassle and the trust what Liverpool can offer unlike United can offer.
Really puzzled why for a few more million we didn't sign timo he said he was willing to prove himself before becoming first choice.

Brilliant Jota! As far as Thiago, as we did with Keita at the time of his signing, there are questions about his durability. You miss many matches, you can’t have a big influence on this Liverpool team, or any for that matter. Keita (which we loved, but his last complete, world-class season is now 4 years ago) still has a lot to prove, none of it based on talent. And once again our fans are making us look bad by whining about the lack of activity in the transfer market with WEEKS to go. In Klopp we Trust sure sounds hypocritical here. Must be so hard to be supporters of clubs like Wolves is see another young talent just bought by a Big-6 club. Wijnaldum now?

isnt 45m abit too much? I honestly think Klopp should make more use of the players he already has eg Shaqiri, Ox and Origi. Shaq's has a totally different play style that brings so much more to the midfield, Ox with the speed and directness and Origi with the coolness in front of the goal. I was devastated when they sold Lallana. He was and still is a brilliant player. He is able to do magic in tight spaces no one else in this team could and I know injuries had been his main issues but the thing is, if you stop letting the players get some game time, being fully fit wont make him any better. I honestly wish I know whats going on in the dressing room with these players because it surely feels like Klopp might be holding a grudge against them or smtg perhaps for smtg they said and now with this recent talk about Gini, it feels like Klopp has yet again added another player to his "you won't be playing anymore" list. Come on Klopp, we are Liverpool, not Man City of Barcelona. Please dont lose the bond that you had with the team in the early years

Dude, calm down. Gini is one of Klopp’s favs! He’s on the team sheet when he’s healthy or has a knock. Klopp pays him when he knows Gini is the, or one of the, difference makers they need for a certain situation. The Barca 4-0 game, Gini off the bench, 2 goals! And almost every game Gini is a starter even with a knock. Klopp trusts him completely!

Yea Gini did start last game and yes I agree that he was one of Klopp's favourite but so was Lallana and I'd really hate to see these players who took us to the top be forgotten. As a fan, I know we all want the best for our team, I know we want our team to win as many games as possible but I also want us to be a team that doesn't just forget the players who gave us their best. If you remember, we did the same to Agger..it just feels like we are betraying them. I'm starting to see Gini faling into the same situation...
