  • Today, I am bringing you with me on my budgeting journey. We will be going over the paycheck that I received on January 20, 2019.
I have been sharing my real budget for over a year on Instagram, but only recently started sharing my budget on UA-cam. By sharing my actual budget, I hope to show you the process and steps behind paycheck budgeting. I also hope it helps you understand the psychological decisions behind money management.

I literally have to shout from the rooftops about how awesome your 2019 budget binder is. At first I was like I really do not need all of these pages but there is a method. when I took my little slip to get each individual bill that I need it for my cash envelopes I felt so together. and I know I keep leaving comments on each one of your videos but I just truly can't thank you enough.

All I can say is thank you thank you thank you for really breaking things down. And that a budget is personal and there is no one size fits all. Love your video and appreciate all that you do. You don’t have to explain things but you do and that helps people like me. I found you just a few weeks ago YT and love your story!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I have no idea why or how one of your videos popped up on my feed a few weeks ago but I decided to watch it (keep in mind I never budgeted, and have been married for a year). The first video I was definitely confused but super intrigued as I was realizing I wanted to be doing more with our income, it felt like it always left as soon as we got it. I printed all of your budgeting sheets and was on fiiiire for budgeting. I’m a natural spender, and was shocked at how much I was spending. I spent $1200 on groceries one month! Now with meal planning I’m spending $600 a month (it could definitely go lower if I wasn’t very health conscious and always choosing organic foods). Your resources are AMAZING and LIFE CHANGING! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ my husband and I are currently doing the debt snowball and are scheduled to be out of $20,000 of debt by the end of this year!

I do similar spreads in my budget bullet journal and with your information and tips it has helped so much. And although i didn’t purchase your sheets (since my goal is to save and stop online purchases till I can actually be at a comfortable spending level) i still support thru your UA-cam and IG! Much love from VA 🙌🏼

This is such a new and interesting system of budgeting and saving. I want to try cash envelope system for groceries and eating out. I feel like the amount I am spending on eating out and grocery shopping is out of control, but your system is perfect for it.

Hi Miko! I came across your blog, UA-cam and IG about 3ish weeks ago and I love that you are so real and detailed with everything!
I did the email course and bought the workbook and am using January to closely track spending, figure out categories and bill dates, and kind of making a mock budget. I plan to get started with cash in February.
One question was if you could do a video detailing some of the other sheets in the workbook. There is one (I’m sorry I don’t have it in front of me) that looks like all the categories for your budget all put together and a few others that I haven’t really seen you talk about that I would LOVE more clarity on.
Also, for your grocery budget do you include things like toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, toothpaste, etc? Just trying to figure out where those things fit since I usually get them at the grocery store. Thanks so much in advance!

Brandi Becker-Wright I’ve also been doing what you are doing. I have probably watched every video she has ever made or posted. But to answer your question: she calls those supplies consumables and they are included in your groceries.

I will start using your highlighter method. That's a good idea.
I think last paycheck video you said you make new cash envelopes each time. Do you shred your old ones? They are just too cute lol. 💜💜 patiently waiting for next video I really like that your posting here on YT!

    • @madnessofmymind
      @madnessofmymind 5 років тому +2

Why would you shred an envelope? That would be a terrible waste of resources in an overly stressed planet. Keep using it. Just because she makes new ones doesn't mean you have to. Or make a bunch and rotate through them during the year.

Great video. Quick question. Do you track the cushion of 40.00 per pay as an expense when youre categorizing it or do you just subtract 40.00 from your written paycheck amount to account for it? I am going to use a cushion but dont know how to balance that extra 80.00 at the end of the month.

Question: what if you get paid weekly, and you have bills you are paying the following month (because it’s the next week) with a paycheck from a Friday? How do you set that up on your calendar?

You have to count it for day 1 of the following month and subtract those bills from it.

Is there any way I can follow your binder with a 6 months budget and a paycheck changing every time ? We are seasonal worker and need to save for those non paycheck months. How can I plan it if my income changes everytime? And how do I plan it if I have different payment for those first 6 months and those last 6 months of the year ? This is just amazing work you’re doing !

We are starting this method in Feb. (Spending Jan. tracking expenses). As I'm starting to think ahead, I'm wondering if I should do separate budget pages for my husband (paid on 15th and 30th) and me(paid every other Thursday). So I would be making 4 budget pages. Sometimes our paydays land close together and sometimes they dont that's why I'm wondering.

I get paid bi-weekly, so I split all my payments due to my check, let's say one of my card payment is $300 and I split the payments in both checks, how do I do this on the calendar? do I highlight one in one color and the 2nd portion in a different color on the calendar. I am so confused, can someone help?

I seriously wished you gave private consultation. (Or maybe you do?) For a fee I would happily pay. My biggest issue is wondering if I should apply extra cash to fund my sinking funds till theyre full or just pay it towards debt. I only owe my car and mortgage as debt. But my sinking funds as a home owner are around 6 grand a year. A fee I just hate paying every month ( around 500 a month if I was to fund them monthly) Then I have an extra 700 to play with to put towards debt or keep paying down sinking funds. This is where I get stuck, what to do with the extra cash. I know its probably personal preference but I feel I need my hand held :(

Paycheck budgeting I think may help me better and been trying to figure it out as I get monthly but also get each week 2 payments in and then partner gets paid weekly. So with such frequency would it and even a small payment in should I separate them all as each Paycheck.?

I personally adore this types of video as motivation to to stay on budget but I can't budget the way she does. splitting bills between pay checks overwhelms it is too much. If you have the will look at her real budget play list she has some with multiple paychecks a month. I honestly have watched some videos a few times. I am trying to motivate myself to do sinking funds savings bc I just have 1 saving for that I use for so many things
