Need a quiet space to read, relax or study? Welcome to the Arley D. Cathey Learning Center. Tucked away upstairs in Harper Memorial Library on the University of Chicago campus, the Cathey Learning Center is a Harry Potter lover’s dream come true. With high-vaulted stone ceilings, ornate chandeliers and abundant symbology, it's no wonder UChicago tour guides call this the Hogwarts room! A peaceful playlist of piano and classical music transports you to this sacred space, which generations of University of Chicago students and community members have called home.
Perhaps the most iconic site on the University of Chicago’s campus, the Arley D. Cathey Learning Center is truly one-of-a-kind. Did you know? The Learning Center was named in honor of the late alumnus Arley D. Cathey, PhB’50, for whom four University of Chicago buildings are named.

Would be great to get a video of Harper with the ambient background noise of the room - the hum of the radiators, pages turning, chairs being pushed back, etc. Always liked the quiet of this space best.

Guys, come on. It's not a study with me unless someone is actually studying. All three of these videos are ambience videos. If you do anymore more of these, just give a student $20 to pretend like they are actually studying for an hour.
