Personal opinion here, but I personally think the best 2 to unlock next are Iron and Tank.
Reason being that, every single shadow brings something unique and new to your team, except blades
With their base kits, on their 4th skills
- Igris brings bleed
- Iron brings def shred (which people seem to forget is a really strong debuff)
- Tank brings stun (for 1 sec, which helps to interrupt bosses and some of their more annoying attacks)
- Blades brings nothing...
With their promoted kits, on their 5th skills
- Igris brings 100% attack buff
- Iron brings shields for shadows, because like you said, they die fast, but most importantly, they get knocked around easily, so the shield helps to completely nullify that
- Tank brings a def buff for the shadows, making them tankier (pun intended) and therefore helping them survive longer
- Blades brings 100% attack buff...oh wait...where have i seen that before...exactly, Igris
Blades doesn't have anything unique in his kit
Now some people might be thinking, well why not just get igris and blades for 200% attack buff
well, we don't know if both buffs will stack (considering how OP it'll be, chances are they won''t be allowed to stack, but it'll need to be tested first anyways)
Also, remember we have beast set that can give a massive 160% attack buff at full stacks (let's be realistic and say we never hit max stacks, but half instead, that's still an 80% attack buff). Now I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume most people playing this game have played either genshin impact or honkai: star rail and are aware of the law of diminishing returns (basically, the more you have of a stat, the less you begin to get from that stat), it's a common game mechanic to balance stats and prevent people from just being overpowered by abusing a single stat. So the damage you get from beast atk% buff + Igris 100% attack buff + Blades 100% attack buff plus attack from any other source will definitely get diminished because it becomes too much.
Now regarding their effects as Shadow's Authority, I personally think that Igris should be the only person used there 99% of the time, because let's face it, that crit rate buff is universal (as you also said) and VERY helpful, considering the 50% crit rate cap we get from artifacts. Every DPS will WANT crit rate, not every DPS wants attack, Choi being the singular exception. In the situations where we play a hunter only mode, most people will want to use Cha, and we all know how much she needs crit.
Just a little side note, but blades also has the lowest damage multipliers among all the damage oriented shadows (Igris and Tank), you can do take a look in the codex and see (Iron's are really low because he's more defense oriented). Which is weird cause you'd think that since he has no special effects, the least he could do is deal MORE damage right?
Anyways, the summary of all that is, if you have to pick 2 other shadows to complete your team of 3, it should be Iron first, then Tank, because Blades doesn't offer anything that makes him worth picking him over the other 2. At the end of the day it's your account, so pick whoever you feel like, this is just an attempt to help anyone reading this make a more informed decision, as well as my personal opinion.

Made the mistake of upgrading Igras first instead of unlocking all the shodows first now I’m stuck trying to get enough to unlock the last shadow

@@DanCarloDioquino I have A8 cha and right now I’m just stuck due to the level caps on the story need to be lvl 53 to continue hard mode and lvl 63 to continue normal mode. I’m at lvl 52

You can use shadows on hunters too brodie.
I think Shadows should consume mp and not shades. Shades should be able to die, but you should still be able to summon your shadows with mp. To make the shadow army better, i think the intelligence stat should increase the duration they stay out. Or at least significantly reduce the cooldown. The game is good, but they definitely fumbled on the Shadow Army.

Well if u have followed the story, you should know what Jinwoo uses his Shadows for, which is the trash mobs most of the time, while he himself kills the Big boys, so technicly they did a good job showcasing that Shadows isnt meant to survive against the Big boys but are for the trash mobs.
I love the story and manga and i want to have all shadow dont care about fast progress i just want to have them and many people like thisame

He unlocked all the shadows you should only unlock igris blades and iron and upgrade them rather tah unlocking tank and you can upgrade only igris and blades than upgrade tusk when he releases in the game
@lacoulgaming4715 what if you already got Tank I don't got Iron cause I feel like he's the least useful Igris is a knight now for me and blades he's the second best Rn in my opinion Igris is really good

Best to only unlock 3/4 first, there is a challenge which I am now hard stuck on to promote one shadow. Unlocking the last shadow meant i don’t have the shards to promote atm
6:01 Wait, there's a critical rate cap? And at only 50%? Kinda bs tbh. And I hope critical rate buff like dark scythe A1 passive still works past the 50% cap, else it'd be even more bs.
50% is the max you can get from artifact stats but weapon abilites and buffs can take you over that for their limited durations. The real crushing thing ive heard is if your power is even 1 point under the stage your base crit is reduced to 5%.

I unlocked Tank because I didn't fight Iron and Blades as there was a roadblock moment. Biggest mistake.
I also promoted Igris once so as an f2p player, I screwed up hard.
Time to grind and wait.
