Stumbled upon your channel and this video really spoke to me-you remind me so much of my younger self and how I felt about dance then. I’m on year 12 of my ballet journey (started at age 23) and I’m here to tell you that more amazing things can and will happen for you when you keep putting in the work. Keep doing what you’re doing. ♥️
I’ve been dancing ballet for 17 yrs and I still dont have the guts to teach a class or lead any kind of dance thing 😅🤦♀️. Freaking amazing idea in my opinion & rly inspiring-if she’s able to take initiative and kickstart something like this as a newer dancer, then I gotta stop making excuses in my own life kjvkfhdkdhf
I'm crying with you, you're incredible! Good luck, I am sure, that you can accomplish and succeed in everything that you're planning to do. I'm so happy you can NOW live the life you've been dreaming of for so long❤
Sorry about my late response but THANK you!!! Your words mean so much more than you'll ever know! Wishing all the best on whatever journeys you're on as well!
congrats! I may not personally be trying to get into ballet, but I find so much inspiration in you pursuing your dreams despite the negativity you’ve gotten. It’s never too late 💕
Thank you so much for saying that. Unfortunately facing negativity is always going to be a part of the journey, but it doesn't mean we give up! Wishing you all the best on whatever journey you might on as well
You have NO IDEA how much I LOVE this! I'm so happy for you and I can't believe how many dance teachers were rude to you on the phone. Shame on them! You're amazing, the idea of this is amazing, the fact that you actually made it happen is amazing...I'm so proud of you! Do hard things! ❤ ETA: OMG the end got me 😭 I'm so happy for you! I had a similar experience in music. I wanted SO badly to sing with certain groups in town, etc and I would audition and not get accepted and it was really discouraging. I got my sh*t together and nearly 15 YEARS later I was INVITED to audition and I got the gigs. DO THE WORK. 💪🏾
HELL YEAH!!! Isn’t it funny how life comes full circle that way?! So happy for you too, you’re out there inspiring others with music, thank you for being you💕
What a wonderful video! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us! Just a tidbit, when you’re talking to the camera, I love it when it’s just you. Sometimes when music is added in the background, it takes away from what your saying and it’s hard to focus on what you’re telling the camera. But other than that, LOVE ur content and can’t wait for more! 💚
Thank you!! I’ll keep that mind! I’m always nervous that it’s too boring if it’s just me talking, but if it’s too distracting then I’ll try leaving it out more!
You are doing so great! I'm not an adult, but I started ballet "late" (at 14), and I struggled a ton with thinking I'd never be able to live the dance life I wanted. I'm 16 now and talking class everyday and dancing in shows, even though I never thought it would come to this. Even today my teacher said I was very close to getting en pointe, and it just makes me think of a few days back crying about how I thought it would take me way longer to get there. I think we all struggle with underestimating our abillities at times, and losing hope, but if you work hard enough you can accomplish all of those goals. I just recently found your channel, but you really are so inspiring and you're really doing a great thing. I still have times where I cry and get upset that I'm not as good as the other girls, but it's good to recognize the hard work and progress you make, and to not get so caught up in what you can't do, but rather to appriciate all the things you can. Thank you for sharing you're journey and I wish you the best for the future!! Let's all keep working hard at the things we love. :))
this is sooooo so beautiful to hear! Thank you so much for sharing this and being vulnerable. It's such a great reminder that we ALL struggle with comparing ourselves and trying to measure up. When I was 11, I saw a performance of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and decided that I was going to sing the role of the narrator in a full performance sometime before I died. At the age of 38, I got my dream and it was an awesome experience and one that I will never forget. A big congratulations to you for pursuing your dreams no matter what people have done to try and discourage you. You are so courageous and such an inspiration! Very well done! Never give up on your dreams!
Awww im so happy for you :') Thank you for sharing this journey with us... youre paving the way for so many people out there...what youre doing means so much to us aspiring adult ballet dancers
I sooo wish I could’ve been there for that class! What a dream! And it’s absolutely NOT SILLY to be super ecstatic about being part of The Nutcracker 🩷 my first show was in high school my fist year of dancing and I was OVER THE MOON that I was going to perform onstage! It’s so exciting!!! Have the best time ever!! 🥰🥰🥰
This whole video is amazing and inspiring but BABE around the 15 min mark your dancing looks SO stunning & elegant. Your head placement and posture and arms - it looks like you've been doing this forever. so proud of you!!
I would love to dance in the Nutcracker and having this ballet as a very first doing ballet on stage-experience must be amazing! Enjoy this time, the rehearsals, the costumes, this special atmosphere,... just everything. 💕
Love this wish I could’ve made it but I’m 16 year old Chicago boy you give me so much inspiration and I hope I’m just like you one day when i have the money to live my dreams ❤❤❤
Don't give up yet. I know a boy who started at 16 and is now a professional ballet dancer at the Cape Town City Ballet for the last three years. I danced with him in my adult ballet class for three years.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND SO BEYOND HAPPY FOR YOU!!! THE NUTCRACKER IS MY FAVOURITE AND YOU ARE INSPIRING ME TO GO FURTHER IN MY DANCE/BALLET JOURNEY!🌟💖💖💖💖💖
I am so happy for you!! Congratulations for the workshop and i am so excited to see all the preparations for your first performance!! ❤ you inspire me so much, i am just starting to dance salsa and bachata at 24 after dancing flamenco before and everything is so new and exciting. Can’t wait to see all the amazing things waiting for you 🫶🏼
I stumbled upon your channel while looking for beginner ballet lesson videos on youtube, and saved on of your videos as inspo for my dance channel. Now a little about me, I started doing contemporary dance 6 months ago at 21 and from my very first class I loved it, it felt like i had found a missing part of me so i kept going to classes, and then i started my youtube channel and started vlogging me going to dance classes. Now its the new year and i plan on continuing my dance journey and taking ballet, and continuing to chase my new dream of being a dance teacher to little kids for beginner ballet and beginner contemporary dance. And coming across your channel and watching two your videos you have really inspired me to keep going with my dream until i finally get there no matter what obstacle is thrown my way, and so I thank you for that 😊💕🩰 and keep going on your dance journey i will be here through it all you are an inspiration to me now!!
Oh my gosh yes! This is what I was going to start doing except I’m going to be practicing at home since I can’t afford that kind of thing haha. But yes I wouldn’t care what anyone says. I wish that I could’ve gone to dance when I was younger, but I’m going to do my best now to at least stretch
I am so happy for you this video is AMAZING i am so proud of you for taking the risk and starting ballet you are such an inspiration for so many dancers including me
From a Mum who raised twins after a divorce & did my best with nothing, I wonder if you had parental support? I actually homeschooled my twins (the local kindergartens were FULL, so, enter...'Charter Schools...' ...then I found they offered student funding so they could learn, hands-on, what sparked their interests-the things I never got to do! Our Charter School had 'Student Funding' that covered costs for Physical Education- ballet, horsemanship, tai kwon do, etc. that otherwise there'd be ZERO chance of my being able to afford! I had 0 support from their fathers' side and my Mum did what she could, (while caring for her Sis whom had Downs Syndrome). So, I wish you the best and offer my full support! Good Luck
Thank you!! You sound like a truly incredible mom and your twins are so luck to have you! My parents definitely did their best and always supported all of my dreams however they could. My first ballet class at age 5 was similar to what you're describing, an affordable town program (but it was eventually closed down). There wasn't a ton of information or resources in my area back then and I wasn't particularly insistent about staying in ballet as a shy, unconfident kid. I wouldn't change my story for the world though!
@@VeronicaViccora Awe! That was so nice to read, especially the Mom compliment 😁! I’m happy for you and I bet your parents are really proud of you too. Keep going & I will follow your journey! I have a long story about how I’m where I am, but I will never give up on doing ballet 🩰it’s my life’s passion. Having Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Ehlers Danlos got me in a ‘crash’ but I still watch ballet (Pris De Lausanne 2024!) because I believe it keeps it in my 🧠 head, a form of ‘muscle memory’ I say lol. Good luck!!🩰👍
Thank you Veronica. Hopefully one day l will go to nyc to dance with you. I live 6 hours away from nyc now and l am dancing with little kids everyday. I am happier than ever. 😊
this is so inspiring! Im getting back into Ballet after 4 years and getting back into teaching after 10 months! Whew...it's hard and it's a struggle getting back to it but im making it happen! My goal is to be on pointe and in a nutcracker role next year!
I started a beginner adult ballet class in 2019, at 60. I’m still at it and it has helped me in many ways even though I’ve never advanced enough to actually dance. There are no stages involved.
