Mam if a question comes....name the type of gene that cannot express itself in the presence of a contrasting allele, and the options given are----homozygous
Heterozygous
Dominant
Recessive, then which will be the correct answer?...this question was asked in ICSE 2022 semester 1 biology exam yesterday...mam I have written heterozygous because the question states that one allele is dominant and the other one is recessive...so the gene as a whole is heterozygous dominant...but in the answer key the answer is recessive...mam what according to you should be the correct answer?....please reply mam...

Dear student it will be recessive.. directly taught in lectures and ncert... recessive allele doesn't express in presence of contrasting i.e. dominant allele
