      Many thanks, been searching for "markers for mitochondrial biogenesis" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Miyason Mitochondria Masker - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.

    Do prospective mitochondrial proteins (for example) contain an ER signal sequence as well. So the protein can be transported via endomembrane system to reach the mitochondria. Or, does the protein just have a mitochondrial signal sequence which is transported from the cytosol to the protein translocator of the mitochondria without going through the endomembrane system with the start at the ER? Or, do both of these occur for prospect mitochondrial proteins?

    Hi Shomu, can u make video on how protein can be specifically targeted to the outer mitochondrial membrane ?

    • @ambition1008
      @ambition1008 4 роки тому +3

      For the protein to be targeted to the outer mitochondrial membrane it is basically the same mechanism, only there is another transporter called SAM that is also located in the outer membrane that will transport the protein into the membrane. The protein will go from TOM to SAM rather than TOM to TIM23.
