You know what happened after the last "Play X fire emblem game"? Motherfucking echoes. Mekkkah is the new Ghast, and the inevitable thracia remake is the new Echoes.
Ki Jih Well Echoes is a remake of Gaiden, which is considered the black sheep of the franchise. Meanwhile FE7 gameplay is very classic and basic FE gameplay in my opinion.
Fergus is Yikes levels of good. For a Forest Knight, a sword using class, he is surprisingly great. Great move, great stats, 5 PCC, move stars, easily gained sword ranks, and just the works.
Yeah, my current playthrough, I've gotten REALLY lucky with move levels. One for Orsin, two for Lithis, two for Dalsin (yeah, Dalsin), and one for Asbel. It's pretty crazy.
MEKKKAH! Dude all these Fe5 guides have been super helpful recently since the project exile patch was released, and this was exactly the next guide i needed!
What in the world is this pursuit critical? I only know the Follow Up Critical Coefficient, short for FUCC. FUCC is a hidden stat possessed by characters in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. On the second attack of a double attack, the character's Critical rate is multiplied by their FUCC. Characters with a FUCC of 0 cannot perform a critical attack on their second hit. Fergus and Mareeta have the highest FUCC values in the game at 5, while Lifis and Shannam have the lowest FUCC values at a measly 0.
I love that the low stat caps in Thracia and Mystery of the Emblem make every unit in those games somewhat usable. Obviously some are just kinda trash but it works really well with the fatigue system and iron manning.
This is the first video that has ever put me to sleep that wasn’t a sleep inducing video. I don’t mean this in a bad way tho it’s just mekka’a voice is so relaxing
Just finished my blind run of this game so I'm finally watching this video. In 4x I started the map by having Dalsin walk forward and use a torch, revealing every enemy about to pile onto him. He somehow dodged most of the mages and came out fine. Ever since then he was MY BOY! He constantly won his coin toss attacks with hammers and even ended up being really helpful in the final map. You have your meme unit, I have mine.
BowandSvent Sure, if you’re willing to use up a charge on your 5 use thief staff lol. It is a good last resort save if you messed up and one of your units is about to die from a ballista, but then you run the risk of Tina missing.
Thank you! I'm currently playing FE5 through the Project Exile patch! Currently on Chapter 13 and I'm loving it! Favorite units are Nanna, Lara(cause I made her a dancer and I gave her the leg ring), Pan, Mareeta, Selphina, Dalsim, Tina and Asbel. I use Selphina and Dalsin(with Brave Axe) religiously, I love the two of them! so much.
Another thing that makes fergus so great is his mutual support with karen. 5 PCC higher stats and that support puts him a league above brighton even if brighton has wrath. Fergus is also a surprisingly good candidate for magical swords. Considering you can get 2 fire swords and a thunder sword early when fergus is the strongest sword user.
Yeah Mareeta is sadly alright. I would recommend her for anyone playing for the first time though. She always turns out super broken and fun albeit you do have to put in some work beforehand unlike the great tier units. Natural luna, astra from a convo, nihil from a perf, and adept after promo is so stupidly overkill when added to a 5 PCC and a personal brave killing edge. All she does is kill one enemy per phase, but she looks so flashy while doing it that it always feels worthwhile.
Tina can become a 10 move units with 25% chance to move again, which is just ridiculous. Give her the Dain Scroll, and watch her roll ! (This may not be the most optimized idea, but it's too fun to pass.)
The only change I would make on that list would be to put Delmund on the Great tier, I think he has enough positive traits for that. Outside of that, I totally agree with the placements, so I think it's a very good list overall.
Also, you should an "alright" run where you focus on using as many people on the alright tier as you can. Gets you outta comfort zone and who knows, you may find new appreciation for them like with Ronan.
Like Mekka said, in this Fire Emblem, everyone can be a good unit. The difference is how much effort you need. Plus with scrolls, support, paragon books and paragon cheat which can cover everyone stats.
Honestly this video just reminds me how good FE5 is. Most of the roster is not only useable but flat out great and even the meme tier characters can be made useful as I personally I found success with a third of them on my first playthrough. Ronan was great for handling some constantly spawning mages behind walls on some hard late game chapters. Great game.
Homeros: the thing is you can promote Homeros before he's level 20 and still max a lot of stats, and the reason you would do that is so you can start using him as a heal bot. Using staves enough you can start to use some REALLY useful staves such as Physic, and maybe even Rescue. What you're left with us a multi-use magic user who's one of the few with an actual WTA against the myriad darkness users that they throw at you towards the end of the game. I say he's Great.
Now I don't want to be THAT guy, but I really think Carrion should be alright tier He may have really bad bases, but he starts in a chapter with a ton of easy brigands to kill and get easy exp on, and he doesn't eat up a deployment slot for that chapter either. I like to compare him to Mareeta, who also has good growths but meh bases and has a lot of easy exp when they join, except Carrion has more availability and mobility thanks to joining earlier and being a cavalier and he can use swords on horseback and indoors so he isn't a bad long term investment either. If Carrion joined later like Miranda or even the same chapter as Mareeta I'd say hes meme tier, but since he joins so early and has an easy time getting exp in that chapter and the next gaiden I think he at least deserves the alright tier.
Well anyone can, so that's not really in his personal favor as a unit, and it's not like you need to train him to get it either since he gets it 2 chapters after he joins, but it can help him
He joins in a chapter with easy enemies, but those enemies are easy to kill for just about anyone, he doesn't have a monopoly on them. Halvan and Ronan also rejoin for that chapter, do I put them a tier higher just because I can feed them brigands? Plus Carrion is really pathetic even against these guys. Even with a crit and a hit when using an Iron Sword, he still fails to kill them.
i couldn't finish the game on my snes , reinhardt chapter was impossible without any warp and no money , no stuff , i'll try later again after watching your videos, this one will help me
homer is actually one of the most durable units with wrath+nosferatu, once he promotes he gets enough weapon rank in light magic to use it, combine that with wrath and he will basically always survive an onslaught as long as you have a crusader scroll on him in case the enemy has a killer weapon. i used homer in my most recent ironman run and he wiped out the entire battalion of berserkers in the final chapter and as an added bonus landed the finishing blow on veld, so that was fun.
I do like a trained Homer and Nosferatu is very good on him after promotion, but I don't think he needs Wrath very much. He already has a PCC of 5, so anything he doubles is pretty much dead to a crit. Nosferatu weighs quite a bit but he does double Dark Mages which are the most important enemies to use Nosferatu against. If you save Wrath for Homer you don't make use of it for like 6+ maps. Don't get me wrong, I like Homer, I think he's decent and not that hard to train. I just don't think he needs Wrath.
I ended up putting them in the same tier. But I really think Ronan is a lot easier to turn into a viable combat unit than Marty. Marty basically needs the Brave Axe to ever ORKO anything.
@@Mekkkah Yeah I know, I saw the whole video. In response to Ronan is a lot easier to turn into a viable combat unit than Marty... that depends. I think you may be letting the memes cloud your judgment here. You pretty much start off by admitting how little use Archers have in the game as they don't even have the ability to Capture. Marty has that ability easily with the Brave Axe which is available early on while Ronan tends to rely on Adept procs to be able to 1RKO (and from some of your videos I've seen that he can't even do that sometimes) up until the Brave Bow which comes much later by comparison. The 2 characters have their issues for sure but the best solution to Ronan's primary issue, STR, comes from the Noba scroll obtained extremely late while Marty's SKL and SPD problems are solved with just his promotion and you can add Sety and Odo scroll to basically put him at +1 SKL and SPD every 2 levels. Post promotion, Marty is probably out-damaging Ronan when he uses bows (which he doesn't need to) and being a unit that can retaliate at melee with a decent defense growth, Marty can make use of Wrath and survive which is something you know Ronan can't do as an archer. If we're strictly talking LTC then Ronan probably wins for sure thanks to his absurd move for a tier 1 infantry but in regular play/in a vacuum? I'm certain a tank like Marty thrives more after a few levels which isn't difficult to do.
@@ThunderManEX Marty's ability to capture is very very shaky even with the Brave Axe. Ronan's lack of reliability is a problem but it's nothing compared to what Marty faces. You can never rely on him hitting anything. Also, while the Brave Axe comes earlier than the Brave Bow, Marty is far from the only person who gets good use out of it. If Marty uses the Brave Axe, other axe users like Dagdar or Halvan if you're into him are much worse off. I can get Brave Axe utility without using Marty. However, the only other units who can use the Brave Bow for most of the game are pretty bad/mediocre (Tanya, Selfina), so odds are you're not getting use out of the Brave Bow without Ronan until Xavier joins. And Xavier can still do pretty well with a Master Axe + Wrath, he's not as dependent on the Brave Axe as say Halvan or Dagdar (lategame) is. Ronan's strength is low, but it's good enough to start ORKOing most generics after promotion at least. Marty might still have speed issues even after promoting.
Me, playing the game for the first time, half-blind: I think I'm doing pretty well... man, there's gotta be something I missed, tho. Mekkah: Dean gets the dragon lance, you have to visit a specific house to... Me: ... Oh
@@kentknightofcaelin4537 those scrolls only boost speed and skill some characters like Asvel, Sara, Linoan, Homer, Mareeta, Ilios, etc. don't really need them
My Olwen was an enemy phase beast, she could not be killed, that Vantage + Dire Thunder combo is crazy. I just put a defensive boosting crusader scroll on her from the start and she was one of my best units. She wasn’t very hard to train either just feed her kills on enemy phase and just watch
Carrion a bit more than Hicks as in his joining chapter you are fighting brigands so he faces very little danger , giving some time to gain levels Hicks can be usable and a mount is always welcome but axe knights are kinda meh even outdoors as axes aren't the most accurate Usable but not great
have to admit I haven't played FE5 yet, played FE sword of seals all up until shadows of valentia several times and fire emblem 4 once long time ago. I think once I start my staycation from work next week I may download tharcia to play and watch all your fe5 videos more than just meme ronan moments. Once I play FE5 for myself I'll watch all your videos alongside it Mekkah. just didn't want to spoil game for me before I play it.
@@Mekkkah thanks Mekkkah, I can now say I got a reply from you. I think playing FE5 for first time will be fun before I get three houses. I'll be sure to check the beginners guide out, want FE5 to be fun but don't want to go too blind into the game. I can always ask Mangs for advice as well if I'm stuck.
Don't forget Delmud's charisma skill. Abusing support/charisma stacking trivialises any area of the game you have have time to set it up - defending choke points, moving through siege range, boss killing. Just so useful.
I was wondering how good Dashin is generally considered, to find out he’s a meme! He leveled move 3 times in a row for me when I first got him and I knew I had to give him some favoritism after that. He absolutely wrecks everything at this point lol.
my bro Ronan needs a little bit of help maybe 1 scroll for sure, but man the fucking movement stars on this dude and adept make him such a great archer.
Mekkkah actually I’m loving FE 5. My Lifis has gotten mega blessed and has 16 build. I am using a few meme units, love some Ronan, but uh, yeah changing up my army for sure.
Mekkkah yeah there isn’t really a wrong way to play an FE game, but I was using a few units I thought were good and vice versa. At least now I am educatedly using terrible units.
Mareeta is easy to train. On chapter 14 you can send her to the right gate. Have Leif with the King Sword support her for more avoid. Then watch her killing waves of enemies. Make sure you watch out for broken weapons, stack more scrolls if you want, give her paragon book if you wish her to reach lv 20 in one chapter. By the time Loptir Mages appears, if she got good stats, she can handle them all.
I think Misha is pretty great, I'd put her above Xavier. She's Amalda minus staff utility and with a little more magic, which isn't terrible at all. Very useful.
I just painfully crawled my way through chapter 4 everyone died 😭 this is my first run and am playing (mostly) blind so I didn’t know what to expect so rip everyone in that chapter. Except the doodoo armor unit he lived ofc
One thing you forgot about is Dermott having charm It can contribute to his utility as if you deploy the hezul siblings and a kind sword wielder that's 30 hit and avoid you could give a unit He is by no means amazing as he joins kinda late but charm really rounds him out and gives him a little bit of passive support to give
you should do more character guides, Im not a good representative of the majority of any fanbase but I personally would enjoy more of these, maybe do FE6 or 7 next
I've just gotten to 8x, and no one has been downright awful, mvps have definitely been The Axe bros, Fergus, Asbel & Brighton. Getting a brave axe and a personal 1-2 rng high crit in the first chapter was pretty crazy, plus vantage and wrath have never been this good. Nice to see the early game fighters be good for once. Fergus, Asbel and Brighton carried Manster along with Leif for me (he has 8 mov, pretty nice to have a high mov footlocked lord) especially once we got out of dismounted swordlocked hell. Pretty much the only units I haven't been impressed with at all so far are Marty & Lara. Marty feels like the usual axe bros you get in most games and Lara just feels like a worse Lithis (doesn't help my Lithis got blessed with 3 con levels and can steal bows and swords)
I scroll abused my Lara along with giving her elite to pump her up to lv 20 thief fighter only to find out after the fact that she loses ambush and a movement point when she promotes to dancer.
Royce Abshire yeah, boyd & nolan are pretty much the only decent axe fighters besides These two. I have a soft spot for Lot though, even though i'd say Wade & Lot are probably the worst fighters in the series. They just can't seem to give us both good unit stats and actually accurate axes in the same game.
@@CosmicToad5000 Honestly if they had just reintroduced the pugi or something similar that only fighters could use in the other FE games that may atleast make it more rewarding to use them. If given the chance to use/ train fighters as opposed to bandits/pirates that can promote to beserker with the built in +25/30 crit it's just an unfair competition.
First don't blame the rng second Thracia uses single en so the hit displayed it's the hit rate you have so there's that 2 %miss chance I mean it should be pretty rare but it's definitely possible
Noob with only one playthrough here: I felt Homer was really easy to get to promotion and B tier Light so he could tank stuff pretty reliably with the Nosferatu
His starting chapter can be a little hectic although paragon can really puss him forward to catch up and promote Nosferatu shouldn't be used on a unit exclusively but he is probably it's best user as linoan tends to focus on staves more
I think I may need to challenge you on Mareeta being Alright instead of Great, Mekkah. Like you said, her bases are pretty meh, but she joins on a chapter with lots of easy kills set up for her by design and her growths are fantastic. If you care about making her very strong early, simply having Karin fly over to her with any combination of some scrolls, the Elite Sword, or the Elite manual and she will be one of your better units by the chapter's end without much issue. Even without this extra investment, Mareeta's sword is perhaps one of the best Prf weapons for boss killing due to it's Brave and Nihil effects, and with so many uses she can secure one round KOs on most non-boss enemies at base, meaning that's easy XP for her. I know you mentioned earlier availability would secure her the spot, but when her joining chapter is designed to feed Mareeta specifically easy levels, I think that helps to offset her poor bases quite well. And we aren't even counting that you need her to recruit Galzus anyway, so by training her to at least survive in Endgame you get two amazing units for the cost of training one. Just my opinion, of course.
Treatment like Karin flying over with a bunch of items for her alone is the kind of thing that would make any Meme unit useable. Look at the units in Great again: how many of them need that? Training Mareeta for a long time in Ch12 also requires you take a long time in it, which means you gotta sit out all of Salem's sleep staff or capture him quickly and then sit on the gate doing nothing. And by occupying Karin this way, you're also making it harder to get to the upper village (with the Silence staff) before it gets destroyed. With regards to her bosskilling potential, giving scrolls to Mareeta might help her grow more quickly but it takes a lot to grow out of her terrible base bulk. This puts her at the mercy of the many Master Lance using bosses which will 2HKO her if she fails to get a Luna crit before they counterattack. Since her crit is hard capped at 25 before the counterattack, this is not a guarantee, and a likely failure for her. And it's not like bosskilling is a niche that players suddenly need fulfilling now, they've likely already established a character that does this well, usually Asbel. You need Mareeta to recruit Galzus, but you do not need a trained Mareeta to recruit Galzus. It's very easy to recruit him safely with a base level Mareeta. I usually disarm her, talk to him, and then she gets captured on enemy phase. While captured she still gives Galzus the support bonus so he wrecks face. This is actually easier than Mareeta being armed because then she would fail to counter all the 2-range enemies there (if she's using her own sword). And no, Mareeta does not get credit for all the work Galzus puts in in endgame. That credit goes to Galzus.
I do love Mareeta, and what she offers puts her into Great tier for me, but Mekkah made a fair point on why she is just an alright unit. Paragon Sword is for her in my runs, and not for Carrion - but the time she joins she really need some level ups to catch up, and I always had something for myrmidons in Fire Emblem in general. The other choice for her role would be Trude, because he's a sword user with better bulk and Nihil skill - having Nihil on Mareeta's weapon and the Luna skill in her set makes her a better boss killer if you are ready to invest into her - the only Luna book is on the B route, so good luck getting that for Trude. Defineately get her the Astra too, if either of those skills trigger, you enemy is most likely dead. Sure Asvel can be a boss killer too, but it's not bad to have more than one. Fatigue is a thing, and the final chapter brings 6 boss level enemies to you right away.
@@Mekkkah First I want to say thanks for the detailed response, you had to talk about a lot of units in the video so I know you weren't able to get to such a hot topic for debate like Mareeta in nearly as much detail as you did here. Now I feel like I understand your arguments better. I also want to preface this by saying that I actually have not played the last few maps of the game. I was busy at the time and eventually just want to restart again with the new patch. Because of this I did not know where Galzus spawns and how easy he was to recruit, so I assumed that he may be in an area where only a somewhat trained Mareeta would survive long enough to recruit him. So I do rescind my comment there, my argument about Galzus does not hold water. One thing that I want to ask for this list is, what is the assumption of player skill and experience? Is this list for new players so they know who is better to watch out for while they play? Or is it for experienced players looking to play optimally? Usually Tier lists are for the latter, but this video felt a bit like the former. If I am following that logic, most newer players will not be aware of strategies to clear Mareeta's joining chapter efficiently. They will more than likely be eating Salem's sleep uses as they cautiously make their way through the Fog, which does mean the chapter will take some time. In this instance, Mareeta will be all alone at the southwest portion, so those kills are hers alone which (at least on Paragon mode) will trigger her good growths and allow to improve signifiantly. Even scroll-less, she will get fast enough that most enemies that are not bosses will have trouble hitting her, which does make her Great as a regular combat unit in my opinion. Her movement star as well as perfect PC make her excellent for practically deleting enemy units on player phase with her Prf. Whether that is useful or not is subjective, but it is still fact that she is great at Player Phase combat even early on. That being said, I do agree with you that her bulk does need scrolls to fix, and Master Lance bosses will be out of her reach at least until promotion, which is something Asbel does not have much issue with. Mareeta will likely only shine if the player managed to lose Asbel, and even then like you said there are still other units who can bosskill well. In fact, I would agree that her bulk does hold her back enough that I would rank her near the lower part of Great, if you decided to order them. Again, if this list was made for new players, I think she is a possible candidate to move up because she practically owns all of the bandits in her starting area as free XP for those players. If this is from an optimal play standpoint, she has glaring issues and belongs in Alright. Could we at least agree that, if you ranked these units in their tier, she would be on the higher end of Alright near Great? I just believe that she is a unit that should not be seen as the same as say Glade or Olwen overall.
Marita: Her personal Brave sword as well as Astra she can get with Shanam, in addition to that you can easily level her up in chapter 15 with all the enemy bandits gives her the needed boost to get to Great.
Mekkah do you think it would be possible to get A staves for Nanna with a lot of m grinding. And would it be worth giving her the magic ring especially if give her wrath
Maybe I'm running the numbers wrong but he doesn't. His attack with brave how is 18 Reinhardt has 12 defense so each hit does 6 damage 48hp-6damagex6hits=12 hp remaining Did I miss a factor that makes him hit 2 more times?
@@thewindysage1538 Maths and number isn't everything in life. Reinhardt is probably pissing himself in front of a true predator like Ronan. Not to mention Rein the magician cannot hope to beat Ronan the mage killer, crit dimethunder would do like 3 dmg tops and he's too scared to approach Ronan with his sword anyways. Everybody in Freege knows of the Blue and white death god of the battlefield. Rumor is he defended a whole mansion by himself while the knights and frontliners were pissing themselves hiding in fear.
@@thewindysage1538 Palla Emblem probably assumed base + promo gains, which gives Ronan +2 strength. That results in 5x2 extra damage. idk where the last bit comes from.
A mount is not autopilot to greatness in this game. Indoor maps exist, and Hicks is terrible in them. Hicks also has no real purpose in a lot of mid/late outdoor maps due to the game's large amount of Warps available, and he also has some combat issues (hit and AS, mostly).
Robert's bases are only slightly lower than Selphina, and he also has 3 FCC compared to Selphina's 1, and he has 7 less levels. I wouldn't put him in Meme tier.
Being lower leveled, especially in that point in the game keeps him from promoting longer. The gains are really nice and selphina is closer to getting them
Sincro Melon one my other run, I have a 9 mov Mareeta. No other Fire Emblem makes building characters this enjoy able where human leg can be faster than horse
@Ced von Noish Try 12 move asbel. Gave him paragon. His reward for leveling move so much was me giving him the -boots- leg ring. Capped magic, skill, and speed by chapter 9.
Mareeta is fantastic! Why risk Leif getting killed on Raydrick when she can easily kill him. Having Leif, Galzus surround her grants close t0 90% avoid. Throw in Nanna or Delmud and it gives her 100% avoid. Plus the bittersweet revenge....
Sorry, but that just doesn't make any sense. Leif is not at risk of dying to Reidrick as long as he has a scroll and you don't forget to heal him or something. And Mareeta is far from the only or the best person vs Reidrick. Fergus, Nanna and Dermott exist, and even if they're somehow unfit, there's Galzus right there capable of ORKOing him with Astra/Luna/Armorslayer.
Okay so funny story, I forgot to have a unit captured for 21x and when they sent me into the chapter I suddenly realized at some point I left Macha and Brighton behind and never realized it. For that reason they belong in meme tier for me
I would like a more in depth look at what you think about thracia, i started playing with FE7 and then played only FE8 for a long time. Ive now played a fair amount of FE6 and am dipping my toes into thracia 776, but it has been really tough going and ive even had to reset my run due to losing several crucial units. Your thoughts on efficient resource allocation (scrolls/exp/brave wep) would also be really nice.
It really puts emphasis on weapon usage as any unit can take advantage of high might and actually contribute
Jesus mekkah are you okay

I fall asleep to Mekkkah's videos a lot as well! He just has a very smooth and calming voice.
Turns out Tanya is my meme unit. She got up to 9 move, and mutual support with Othin helped me a lot. Took her some time, but she got B bow ranks.
In one of my attempts at Thracia 776 she got crazy Str-blessed, enough so for a Knight Crest.

Of course you like Fergus. He looks like Forde after all
Oh nice, I always like unit reviews
I do love how in this game you can make anyone good with scrolls, I wish they came back in more games
Karin levelled MOV twice for me in the Manster chapters so I think she's my Ronan
Flash-Flire Same here lol. Ballistas became so much easier to deal with when you had a flier with enough range to attack them without getting hit.
Good ol' boy Mekkkah giving me my daily dose of FE5 Crack
Marty was the reason why I was interesting in checking the growth rates of the characters... I regret nothing.
The only change I would make on that list would be to put Delmund on the Great tier, I think he has enough positive traits for that.
Outside of that, I totally agree with the placements, so I think it's a very good list overall.
For a second I thought it was Mekkah in the thumbnail.
Great game.
Mekkah new background music please, this track is making me lose my mind.
Few seconds already and this guide is infinitely more helpful than ModelOmega's guide on FE5 units.
Mequah, you didn't account for asvel's innate weakness to master lances, or ronan's bow armor weakness
Now I don't want to be THAT guy, but I really think Carrion should be alright tier
He may have really bad bases, but he starts in a chapter with a ton of easy brigands to kill and get easy exp on, and he doesn't eat up a deployment slot for that chapter either.
He can also get the elite sword to help with his training.
Well anyone can, so that's not really in his personal favor as a unit, and it's not like you need to train him to get it either since he gets it 2 chapters after he joins, but it can help him
I agree
He joins in a chapter with easy enemies, but those enemies are easy to kill for just about anyone, he doesn't have a monopoly on them. Halvan and Ronan also rejoin for that chapter, do I put them a tier higher just because I can feed them brigands? Plus Carrion is really pathetic even against these guys. Even with a crit and a hit when using an Iron Sword, he still fails to kill them.
But Halvan and Ronan don't have a horse or the crazy growths that Carrion has
Mekkah with all the shenanigans today.
i couldn't finish the game on my snes , reinhardt chapter was impossible without any warp and no money , no stuff , i'll try later again after watching your videos, this one will help me
homer is actually one of the most durable units with wrath+nosferatu, once he promotes he gets enough weapon rank in light magic to use it, combine that with wrath and he will basically always survive an onslaught as long as you have a crusader scroll on him in case the enemy has a killer weapon. i used homer in my most recent ironman run and he wiped out the entire battalion of berserkers in the final chapter and as an added bonus landed the finishing blow on veld, so that was fun.
Thanks for this. It'll be useful for when I replay Thracia. This time around, I'll try to recruit as many as I can.
kinda motivated to do an alright tier playthrough
Ralph The Great? I didn't see that coming.
Yeah, Ralph was a surprise.
It’s weird to see Asvel in a higher tier than Mareeta and Shiva, but he really is that good.
I'm always gonna be using my girl amalda no matter what
Ralf just being A Guy in an army of wacky anime characters is why I love him. He is the ancestor of Russel Bagman.
I spilled water when I saw you about to place Ronan a tier above Marty. Ronan > Marty is probably one argument I'd challenge you on.
This thread is criminally underrated.
Me, playing the game for the first time, half-blind: I think I'm doing pretty well... man, there's gotta be something I missed, tho.
Mekkah: Dean gets the dragon lance, you have to visit a specific house to...
Me: ... Oh
Meme tier run when?
Sety, Odo, Fala, Baldur and Ullir scroll and Marty becomes god
@@rayquazathenoodledragon9630 sety, odo, Fala, Baldur and Ullir scroll and everyone becomes god
@@kentknightofcaelin4537 those scrolls only boost speed and skill some characters like Asvel, Sara, Linoan, Homer, Mareeta, Ilios, etc. don't really need them
Maybe you should do a WAIFU on Leif?
I started my first Thracia playthrough the other day, on chapter 5, Nanna got 3 level ups in a row with no stat increase
I sense a hicks
My Olwen was an enemy phase beast, she could not be killed, that Vantage + Dire Thunder combo is crazy. I just put a defensive boosting crusader scroll on her from the start and she was one of my best units. She wasn’t very hard to train either just feed her kills on enemy phase and just watch
So there are exactly as many Great units as Alright and Meme units combined...nice.
I think Carrion and Hicks belong in alright tier
Carrion a bit more than Hicks as in his joining chapter you are fighting brigands so he faces very little danger , giving some time to gain levels
Hicks can be usable and a mount is always welcome but axe knights are kinda meh even outdoors as axes aren't the most accurate
Usable but not great
have to admit I haven't played FE5 yet, played FE sword of seals all up until shadows of valentia several times and fire emblem 4 once long time ago. I think once I start my staycation from work next week I may download tharcia to play and watch all your fe5 videos more than just meme ronan moments. Once I play FE5 for myself I'll watch all your videos alongside it Mekkah. just didn't want to spoil game for me before I play it.
My beginners guide is spoiler free so you should check that one out when you're gonna play it. Have fun!
Tina: She can immediately steal Veld's Stone tome, if you give her Holy Water and put her on a magic tile.
Don't forget Delmud's charisma skill. Abusing support/charisma stacking trivialises any area of the game you have have time to set it up - defending choke points, moving through siege range, boss killing. Just so useful.
Good to know I didn't make too many mistakes benching good units on my first play though
I was wondering how good Dashin is generally considered, to find out he’s a meme! He leveled move 3 times in a row for me when I first got him and I knew I had to give him some favoritism after that. He absolutely wrecks everything at this point lol.
Wow yours was blessed!
@@royceabshire2453 he may suck, but if you get that lucky he's probably worth using.
my bro Ronan needs a little bit of help maybe 1 scroll for sure, but man the fucking movement stars on this dude and adept make him such a great archer.
I haven't watched the video yet but I expect Ronan to be at the top
I haven’t watched this, but I imagine I have been playing FE5 wrong even without watching this...
oh no. you mean you didn't have fun?
Mekkkah actually I’m loving FE 5. My Lifis has gotten mega blessed and has 16 build. I am using a few meme units, love some Ronan, but uh, yeah changing up my army for sure.
@@illialidur8244 ok if you had fun then i think you played the game right. i was this close to revoking your fire emblem license.
Mekkkah yeah there isn’t really a wrong way to play an FE game, but I was using a few units I thought were good and vice versa. At least now I am educatedly using terrible units.
Now we need a class guide
Sages good dalshin bad
That's kind of it
Mareeta is easy to train.
Great: Othin, Safy, Rifis, Machua, Brighton, Shiva, Lara, Felgus, Karin, Asvel, Nanna, Carrion, Robert, Olwen, Mareeta, Dean, Eda, Linoan, Sety
Great list. didnt disagree with anybody
A lot of FE4 and 5 love in FEH
I think Misha is pretty great, I'd put her above Xavier. She's Amalda minus staff utility and with a little more magic, which isn't terrible at all. Very useful.
I just painfully crawled my way through chapter 4 everyone died 😭 this is my first run and am playing (mostly) blind so I didn’t know what to expect so rip everyone in that chapter. Except the doodoo armor unit he lived ofc
One thing you forgot about is Dermott having charm
It can contribute to his utility as if you deploy the hezul siblings and a kind sword wielder that's 30 hit and avoid you could give a unit
He is by no means amazing as he joins kinda late but charm really rounds him out and gives him a little bit of passive support to give
I did forget Charm. Probably mostly because I never really needed to make use of it, lol.
you should do more character guides, Im not a good representative of the majority of any fanbase but I personally would enjoy more of these, maybe do FE6 or 7 next
I agree!
Karin has really good combat with the Fire Sword, if you give it to Lifis at the end of chapter 3. Her base magic of 7 helps a lot.
It takes 30 attacks for Karin to get to C swords, and then 50 more to get to B for Fire Sword. That's just not realistic for Manster.
Mekkkah
Dang completely forgot, I thought the fire sword was C.
This is going to be great.
I think this is the only FE game other than Radiant Dawn that I actually liked the fighters.
Do keep in mind the Brave Axe is not Halvan's personal weapon. But it does let him kill just about anything.
Haven't watched the whole video but I swear to Cowga if Marty is any tier lower than great...
Tldw: Staffs? Yes.
Just started Thracia last night, why do I keep missing 98%s? The game is bugged, Mekkah.
/s
First don't blame the rng
second Thracia uses single en so the hit displayed it's the hit rate you have so there's that 2 %miss chance
I mean it should be pretty rare but it's definitely possible
/s means sarcasm
@@LoudWaffle thank you for explaining that! Sometimes it's really hard to convey sarcasm through text.
Noob with only one playthrough here: I felt Homer was really easy to get to promotion and B tier Light so he could tank stuff pretty reliably with the Nosferatu
His starting chapter can be a little hectic although paragon can really puss him forward to catch up and promote
Nosferatu shouldn't be used on a unit exclusively but he is probably it's best user as linoan tends to focus on staves more
I think I may need to challenge you on Mareeta being Alright instead of Great, Mekkah.
I just believe that she is a unit that should not be seen as the same as say Glade or Olwen overall.
i had a leif with like 9 move once it was the best
Marita: Her personal Brave sword as well as Astra she can get with Shanam, in addition to that you can easily level her up in chapter 15 with all the enemy bandits gives her the needed boost to get to Great.
No.
Mekkah do you think it would be possible to get A staves for Nanna with a lot of m grinding. And would it be worth giving her the magic ring especially if give her wrath
Plz. Ronan can ORKO Rein at base str with the brave bow and an adept proc.
Maybe I'm running the numbers wrong but he doesn't.
His attack with brave how is 18
Reinhardt has 12 defense so each hit does 6 damage
48hp-6damagex6hits=12 hp remaining
Did I miss a factor that makes him hit 2 more times?
It probably was a joke but I'm legitimately curious
I was factoring in the +2 strength on promotion.

@@thewindysage1538 Palla Emblem probably assumed base + promo gains, which gives Ronan +2 strength. That results in 5x2 extra damage. idk where the last bit comes from.
Hicks: okay bases, mount
"He is a meme"
Mareeta: bad bases, low joining level
"Alright"
A mount is not autopilot to greatness in this game. Indoor maps exist, and Hicks is terrible in them. Hicks also has no real purpose in a lot of mid/late outdoor maps due to the game's large amount of Warps available, and he also has some combat issues (hit and AS, mostly).
The AS is so bad on Hicks
Robert's bases are only slightly lower than Selphina, and he also has 3 FCC compared to Selphina's 1, and he has 7 less levels. I wouldn't put him in Meme tier.
It's basically just becuse of her good bow rank that selphina is useable, which he doesn't have
Being lower leveled, especially in that point in the game keeps him from promoting longer. The gains are really nice and selphina is closer to getting them
I read your tier list from 2009 decided to use hicks and he got 20 in everything but 5 magic before promoting
With sety and odo, imo those scrolls are not a huge sacrifice to let him use when you get him, because asbell doesnt need either.
Hicks is the best Dragon axe user, and is supported by leaf.
with a scrolled Hicks you can take the Master axe and Tornado tome on the chapter dean joins
Wow, it’s almost as if a great deal of favoritism and using only personal experience doesn’t give you a good idea of how good the unit really is!
Mareeta just alright? but she's carrying almost all the game and I'm almost at the end D:
Sincro Melon one my other run, I have a 9 mov Mareeta. No other Fire Emblem makes building characters this enjoy able where human leg can be faster than horse
@Ced von Noish Try 12 move asbel. Gave him paragon. His reward for leveling move so much was me giving him the -boots- leg ring. Capped magic, skill, and speed by chapter 9.
But Mekkkah, I killed Veld with Tanya.
Is the fe5 tier list still coming though?
Miraculously, my karin ended up having a str stat and became a capable combat unit. Don't ask me how she grew str and 1 mov in her first 5 levels.
I always get a good ronan, my first one was strength blessed, my second one had amazing stats all around, and my thrid one had 20 move.
Hoping for a FE5 WAIFU soon.

It's correct
I would like a more in depth look at what you think about thracia, i started playing with FE7 and then played only FE8 for a long time. Ive now played a fair amount of FE6 and am dipping my toes into thracia 776, but it has been really tough going and ive even had to reset my run due to losing several crucial units.
