This show is incredible, well written with a superb cast. I’m gutted the seasons are so short but the episodes pack a punch and leave a lasting impression.
There can be multiple princes, but the oldest prince (wilhem’s brother Erik) is the crown prince and is first in line to the throne. Wilhelm is second in line.
If Erik married and had a child, that child would be next in line and push Wilhelm to third in line. But unless that happens Wilhelm remains second in line.
You're right, you're not prepared!! ☺️ This show is absolutely incredible!
As a former actor/industry person I 10000% agree with everything you say about watching the original version in original language to get the full performance the actors intended. I will say though that I did later watch the English dubbed version so I could focus on spotting things I had missed the first time while reading subtitles and it’s impressive. Usually the dubs are awful and monotone and dubbed by actors who are not in the show but for Young Royals almost the entire cast (except for some very very minor characters) fully dubbed their own performances in English. I still prefer the Swedish version but for those who are not good with subtitles the dubbing on this is pretty much as good as you could ever hope for.
They are in Sweden but Simon and Sarah’s mom is of Latin descent. They are non-residents of Hillerska Boarding school and come from a poorer part of town, bussed in every day…most of the others are rich boarding students that live there. Sarah is older but was held back a year due to bullying at a prior school, so she’s in the same class as Simon.
They went to a school party held an old building on campus called “The Palace.” Simon is out as gay, but Wille is not. Wille is a Prince, his brother is the Crown Prince next in line for the crown.
Omg im so excited to see ur reactions to this show!! imo It gets better as it goes on, it’s one of my favorite shows ever even though the drama stresses me so baddd sometimes.
Also yeahhh this show can be very complex and even just confusing at times but it’s definitely worth the watch!! + It should hopefully start to make more sense as you watch more eps :)
The soundtrack is awesome 😎
The story is very layered and smartly written. While the main couple is m/m I appreciate it's not about homophobia but about class, privilege, anxiety, depression, and characters making good and bad decisions but you get where they're coming from.
I'm not gonna lie, I was looking forward to you're reaction of the hazing and you just decided I'm not rewatching that for the reaction clip 😂 That's still the nastiest thing I've ever seen.
The story takes place in Sweden. Wilhelm's mother is Queen Kristina of Sweden. His older brother is Prince Erik, Crown Prince of Sweden. Wilhelm is Prince Wilhelm of Sweden. Hillerska is an exclusive boarding school that is attended predominately by wealthy students and members of the Swedish royal family. In Sweden education is free but the boarding costs money. Simon and his sister Sara are "nonresidents" because they don't board at the school. They come from a Latinex-Swedish background where their mother immigrated to Sweden at a young age. Their parents are divorced. Yes, they speak Spanish and Swedish at home. Later you'll see a student named Madison. She's an exchange student from NY, NY who understands Swedish but lacks confidence in her ability to speak it, so she speaks English. In Sweden English is pretty much a second language for the country so Madison is understood by everybody.
So excited for you to watch this!!! Love this reaction.
Ok babes loving the energy your giving first time watching you and hope you enjoy the crazy fucking rollercoaster of emotions and I’m here for this
The cast did dub their own lines in English. Also Felice's roommate is from the U.S. so she speaks English.
Wilhelm and Simon are 16 in the Young Royals characters but in real life Edvin who plays prince Wilhelm was 17 years old when they did season one, now he is 19 year's old and Omar (Simon) just turned 24 👍
The great thing about this show is every character has good and bad. None of them are perfect but they are very relatable and sympathetic
The actors actually did the English dub themselves!
you were right from the start: emotion roller coaster.
I totally agree, it is best to watch the original, and not something dubbed. This is the first thing I have seen of Young Royals. Looks interesting. I'l be watching for more, as well as other content you may produce.
Omg I was literally praying you would get to this show
Stick with it Andres as there are some amazing scenes yet to come. The intimacy scenes are REALLY well done and one wonders whether the two protagonists are really acting, but sadly I guess they are! These days they use intimacy co-ordinators, but being an actor yourself, I'm sure you are fully aware of all that. But, in real life the two actors are best friends and have great chemisrty between each other which translates REALLY well onto screen. In the show, Simon is of Spanish origin which is why you hear the Spanish language being talked within the family. In reality, the actor Omar Rudberg (who plays Simon in the show) was born in Venezuela and him and his mother moved to Sweden when he was 6 years old. The Swedish educational system is such that English is taught in most (if not all) Swedish schools which is why Omar speaks fluent English, Swedish and Spanish. Also, in the real world, Omar is a great singer and was in a very successful Swedish boy band during his teenage years, but now has a solo singing career as well as his first introduction to professional acting in this wonderful show that is 'Young Royals'.
And another one!!! 💜
this is not a spoiler but wille is unlabeled btw!!
You should react to "Veneno"
💜
I know people request this in the original language, but I think it would help your enjoyment and understanding to watch the English dub version first. Its not that bad because the main actors all are doing the own English dubbing. So you get their authentic voices. I think your confusion here is all really due to the fast speaking and trying to keep up with subtitles. I think you might be missing the very important facial reactions and physical contexts due to the reading involved.
Watch it dubbed and it makes since boo
