    I bought a fast track a couple of years ago... it's nice and is great for trips to the beach. Before I had to strap my plastic ocean kayak to a roof top or trailer. But now I see this RazorLife and wish I had waited. Looks like a sweet boat

    Bought my first sea eagle several years ago. It was the 380ex. Love that kayak, but I found myself going out without my wife more often than not and I wanted something that was easier to work solo and would track nicely. I got myself the 395RL and I love it!! No regrets, this is a great kayak for rivers and lakes (relatively calm water, I've not taken it in fast water, but I'd probably use the 380ex for that anyway)

    Hi Dan, I was wondering if you could do a short update to this video showing the new Flexbrace footrest system, how it works and it's robustness etc please? Also, I'm 6' 9" (205cm), would the new system have enough adjustment to accommodate someone of my size? Many thanks.

    The technology is outstanding. I wander why they left the flat bottom instead of a little "V" shape.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Рік тому

      Aloha Bernardo, thank you for the kind words. We have experimented with various style "V's". However, the increase in cost and weight is quite significant as is the decrease in stability and user comfort. Thanks for watching! I love my Sea Eagle 393rl and my Explorer 350fx. I just got them and have gone on two voyages so far.
    Is Sea Eagle planning on making a full drop stitch enclosed cockpit kayak, or a convertible model with a removable deck, similar to the Advanced Elements Convertible Elite, the Kokopelli Moki, or the Aquaglide Navarro? None of those are truly waterproof and I don't own any of them, but I like the idea.
    I would absolutely buy a enclosed cockpit version of the Razorlite, whether it be one piece or a convertible.
    Is there some special difficulty in making a full dropstitch body with enclosed cockpit? I have no manufacturing experience, but I am currently working on making my own removable covers for my Sea Eagle boats for when it rains or if it's cold, as well as a small dog cabin in the back of the Explorer for my little dog, mounted securely to D-rings.
    I am letting you know that there is at least one buyer who wants an enclosed cockpit inflatable dropstitch kayak and would be willing to pay more than the $1100 I paid for the Razorlite.

      Hello @penalty5992, we like the way you're thinking and your mods sound fantastic. We have been considering a closed cockpit for sometime. However, there much to consider when designing such. I wouldn't count it out but will tell you that we have been experimenting with such. Thanks for watching. I would like to store my 393rl fully inflated. The manual states it should be supported the entire length. Does that mean on a floor or full shelf and not hung?

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Рік тому

      A flat surface is preferred. However, if you wish to hang it you'll want to use a basket hitch sling. Thanks for watching. We hope you'll consider subscribing to Sea Eagle Boats UA-cam Channel for more informative videos and new product releases to come!

    After inflating do you turn the yellow valves back down?

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Рік тому

      Aloha @michaelshultz4953 and thanks for watching! The only time you lock the yellow center valve stems down (open) is when you wish to deflate your Sea Eagle. They are one-way spring loaded air valves that prevent air from escaping. Thanks again for watching. My boat is leaking air from around all 3 valves. Can it be exchanged for a new one or am I out of luck? This is with the valves closed and the caps on. It won't hold air. The leak is slow and can be heard and felt from all 3 valves.

      Hello @Tentdweller36, could be loose valves that need tightening with the valve wrench tool located in your repair kit. You can always contact our live customer service for support at 1-800-748-8066 or via email to Staff@SeaEagle.com

      I absentmindedly set the pressure too high on the pump and pumped it up too high. I may have damaged it beyond repair.
      I tried tightening all three valves and I have determined that the leak is possibly only coming from one chamber. I can't pinpoint the leak but I inflated each chamber individually and I only hear a hissing sound coming from the one side. There may have only been one chamber leaking all along.
      What kind of damage normally results from pumping it up too high? Would high pressure merely loosen a valve, or break it? Does it burst the PVC fabric?
      Any ballpark figure for how much it might cost to repair this?

    1. Can this boat be used with less than the recommended pressure? Is there any risk of damage from using it at lower pressures (for example, 1.4psi for all the chambers)? Does it not perform as well as if it was at full pressure? I had to use it at lower pressure before getting the electric pump because it is difficult to get beyond that with the manual pump.
    2. Is there any way to damage the boat (especially the valves) during the inflation or deflation process other than overfilling with air?
    Is there a risk of damage if you stand/lean/put pressure on the floor while inflating it (eg. kayak is loaded prior to inflation)?
    3.My sea eagle manual pump only started displaying a psi above "0.0 (zero)" after multiple pump strokes and getting the chambers partly inflated. Is this normal or is the pressure gauge inaccurate?
    4. Is there any way the boat can be damaged due to improper folding? How important is it to follow folding instructions exactly?
    5. Will the boat be damaged if stored uninflated inside a hot car for a day?
    6. Is it possible to complete inflation and remove the nozzle without allowing a small amount of air to escape? When I get done inflating and remove the nozzle, a small, indeterminate amount of air escapes. Then I'm unsure of how much air is actually still in there.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Рік тому

      1. Stay with recommendations. Anything less will greatly reduce performance and handling. The electric pump is the way to go!
      2. There are may way to damage your Sea Eagle but standing on or loading it during inflation is not one of them.
      3. No manual pump gauge will ever register until the min psi on the gauge is surpassed.
      4. There are many different ways to fold your Sea Eagle. The only damage that will ever occur from folding is damage that you may caused. Sea Eagle products are extremely robust.
      5. Inflatable and for that much anything does not due well under extreme temperatures. Which should be avoided.
      6. There's almost always a little air that escapes but a little air is nothing to be worried about. Remember there is a psi range for optimal performance. As long as you remain within that range you're ok.

    • @penalty5992
      @penalty5992 Рік тому

      Thank you for the response. A few more questions regarding air pressure:
      If it says 10psi, is there a safe range slightly above that, or is that the absolute maximum air pressure that's safe to use? How much room for error above that is there? Can it safely go to 10.5 or 10.2? The pressure gauge is analog even on the electric pump, and it would be easy to go slightly above or below the exact amount since you still have to eyeball needle placement.
      It says there is no performance increase above 3.2psi for the floor, so should I bother going up to 10psi? If 10psi is the absolute limit, I would be inclined to inflate to 8 or 9psi to be safe.
      The pontoons on an Explorer say 3.2psi. Is that an absolute safe limit, or is there room for error there? How much if any room for error? It is harder to precisely measure out the right pressure for 3.2psi since the gauge has increments of 2psi.
      Do you plan to have a pump with a digital readout?
      I have both the Razorlite and an Explorer and I am trying to take good care of them.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Рік тому

      @@penalty5992 The safe range has been factored in for analog and digital reading pumps. Our recommendation is to stay with Sea Eagle recommendations. All chambers of the RazorLite can be inflated to 10 psi. The Explorer floor to 3.2 psi. There is no performance increase above 3.2 psi with Explorer. We commend you for taking such great care of your Sea Eagle. By doing such, they will take great care of you!
